ICHABOD GOLF Doug Hamilton Head Coach Doug Hamilton was named the Ichabod head golf coach Sept. 12, 2002. In his first year at the helm of the Ichabod golf program, Hamilton led the Ichabods to their first MIAA Championship, their third NCAA Regional appearance and the school's first ever national tournament appearance. He is a 1988 graduate of Pittsburg State University where he was a two-year member of the Gorilla basketball team and he also a member of the Pitt State golf team his senior season. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1983. Hamilton was the Topeka Golf Association Match Play Champion following the 1997 and 2000 seasons, as well as part of the 2000 Two Man Best-Ball Champion. He also was named the 2000 City Player of the Year. He has twice qualified for the Kansas Golf Association Kansas Amateur in 2000, 2002 and 2003.

Freshman Hesston, Kan. Hesston HS Background: Was a four-year all-league selection as well as a four-year pick in cross country and two-year pick in basketball. He was the league individual champ in golf, regional runner-up and fourth in state. Personal: Born on June 18, 1985. Son of Kirk and Shelley Dunham. . Majoring in education.

Senior Rossville, Kan. Barton County CC At WU as a junior in 2002-03: Earned allMIAA and all-NCAA Central region honors after finishing fourth on the team with a 77.6 stroke average. At WU as a sophomore in 2001-02: Finished the fall season with a team-best 76.6 stroke average, leading WU to a title in the Central Christian College Tournament by shooting a 69 on Sept. 9 and was named the team MVP. Background: A transfer from Barton County Community College. Graduated from Rossville High School, where he won the state championship in 1997 as a freshman and finished second in 1999 and 2000. He was also a four-time regional champion and three-time league champion. Personal: Born June 6, 1982. Son of Jack and Ruth Donovan. Majoring in criminal justice.

ICHABOD GOLF CHRIS MCGOWN Junior Mound City, Kan. Johnson County CC Background: At Johnson County, he was the 2002-03 Jayhawk Conference Player of the Year and named JCCC’s Male Athlete of the Year. He was a two-time all-Jayhawk conference first team pick and two-time team MVP. He also received the 2002-03 National Junior College Academic All-America pick winning four college tournaments in two seasons. At Jayhawk-Linn High School, he was a four-time conference champion, a three time regional champ and recorded two top-five finishes at state. Personal: Born on Aug. 10, 1982. Son of Doug and Rhonda McGown. Majoring in business.

PAUL RESNER Junior Emporia, Kan. Emporia HS As a sophomore in 2002-03: Recorded a stroke average of 77.1 finishing in a tie fourth at the Washburn Invitational. As a freshman in 2001-02: Averaged 80.2 shooting a low round of 76. Background: A 2001 graduate of Emporia High School, where he was a three-time state qualifier in the 6A tournament and earned two medals. Also finished in the top 10 three times in the Centennial League Tournament. Personal: Born July 26, 1982. Son of Wally Resner and Vivian Massaglia. Majoring in business.

JASON ROBBINS Sophomore Topeka, Kan. Shawnee Heights HS Background: Redshirted last season for the Ichabods. Personal: Born on June 21, 1983. Son of Gary and Donna Robbins. Majoring in accounting.

MATT WARNOCK Sophomore Liberty, Mo. Liberty HS At Washburn in 2002-03: Finished in a tie for first place in his first collegiate tournament at the Central Christian College Invitational. He finished in another tie for first place at the Region 5 Qualifier at Ironhorse Golf Club. Led the Ichabods to a first place finish at the C e n t r a l Regional Championship winning the tournament by seven strokes. Was an NCAA all-Central Regional selection and recorded a 76 . 1 s t r o ke average, which was second on the team. Background: At Liberty High School, as a freshman, he was named most promising newcomer and as a sophomore he was named most improved player. As a junior and senior he was team captain and was the Medalist Award winner for the lowest stroke average. His final season he was an all-conference, second team All-State, and the 2001 Collegiate Preview Series All-Tournament team sponsored by the Kansas Golf Association. Personal: Born June 21, 1983. Son of Jack and Bonnie Warnock. Majoring in business finance.

2003 MIAA CHAMPIONS

2002-03 MIAA Championship Team: Jared Goehring, Garrett Donovan, Cam Hubbard, head coach Doug Hamilton, Derek Dultmeier, Matt Warnock and Paul Resner. LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Washburn Ichabods won their first MIAA Golf Championship with a second place tie at the MIAA Championships at Alvamar Country Club. The Ichabods were awarded with 13 points in the tie with Central Missouri to tally 41.5 points for the season finishing ahead of Missouri Southern, who won the

tournament title who finished with 40.5 points. The Ichabods shot a 916 for the 54-hole event to tie with Central Missouri. In tying for second place with the Mules, the Ichabods gained enough points to win the outright MIAA Championship edging Missouri Southern 41.5 points to 40.5 points.
