2003-04 MIAA Championship Team: Head Coach Doug Hamilton, Chris McGown, Paul Resner, Garrett Donovan, Matt Warnock and Matt Johnston. LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The defending conference champion Washburn Ichabods completed their spring-season rally with a victory in the MIAA Tournament at Alvamar Golf Club Tuesday (April 20), which gave them the needed points in the standings to surpass Missouri Southern for the conference title. The Washburn Ichabods won their second straight MIAA Championship and won the MIAA Tournament that concluded on Tuesday at Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence, Kan. The Ichabods were led by Chris McGown, who finished second in the two-day event after shooting an even par. The Ichabods entered the final conference event 2.5 points behind Southern in the MIAA standings. The MIAA Tournament is worth double the points of the other four events on the schedule, so Washburn needed to win and have the Lions finish no better than a tie for second to end up on top. Southern ended the first 27 holes 16 strokes behind Washburn,
