Google Docs, Your Shore Regional Email and You I am rather surprised that many students have not yet signed into their Shore Regional email accounts and we are already on the downward slide toward the end of the school year. I have discovered that many of you are uncertain of why you should have a school email account if you already have a personal email account. Here are some important reasons: 1. It is the ONLY way you can use a Google Chromebook in your class 2. It allows you to instantly share work done in Google Docs with your teachers and classmates 3. It allows you to collaborate on group projects without leaving your home 4. It gives you free access to Google Docs, which mimics Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and other Microsoft Programs

FEBRUARY READER OF THE MONTH– Christian Granier “When I was younger, my father used to say to me that reading was a lot like hunting. It only had less fire arms, animals, wilderness, about the same amount of death, and is in fact nothing like hunting whatsoever. Reading is the means by which the author fills your vacuous brain with the majesty of knowledge, expanding your intellect beyond the farthest horizons, and opening your weak eyes to the vast wonders of the world in which we live in. Reading fills me with such joy and excitement that I just want to climb to the nearest mountain and throw books at the world, if not only to share this under-rated miracle with everyone on this earth. If I had to bestow upon this school a personal recommendation, I would urge you all to read It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini, or if you are searching for something a bit more exciting and controversial, Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk.”

SEND TO KINDLE Send to Kindle is a free Windows program from Amazon. It enables you to send documents from your computer to your Kindle or other device that has the Kindle app installed. With Send to Kindle installed on your PC you can right-click on the document file and transfer it wirelessly to your Kindle device. A similar program is in the works for Apple.

Celebrate Black History Month The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society.
