4D3N Malaysia Gourmet Feast Sekinchan-Sitiawan-Sepetang -Ipoh tour Rediscover Malaysia in this four-day, three-night full guided tour by Konsortium that will take you through Sekinchan, Sitiawan, Sepetang and Ipoh. Explore the diverse regions of Malaysia as you traverse these charismatic places. Lush green fields greet visitors when they first arrive to Sekinchan. The small town in the state of Selangor, is known for being one of the largest rice producers in the region. Due to the vast expanse of paddy fields present in the town, the area was aptly named Sekinchan, which means “village suitable for plantation” in Chinese. There are a number of things one can do here; drop by the Paddy Processing Factory to learn about the process and history of cultivation methods, or simply watch the beautiful sunset at Redang Beach. Later, proceed to Sitiawan Tua Pek Kong Temple - famed for its gigantic statues of various deities - and Charcoal Factory, which includes traditional charcoal kilns, and snap a picture with the Port Weld railway signboard - the only evidence of the terminal which links Port Weld to Taiping, lastly, hop onto Sepetang River Cruise and explore the mangrove species in the region. Upon arriving at Ipoh, stop by the Ipoh Railway Station - an elegant colonial structure that stands in stark contrast to the rest of the city. Visit the Epau Tree, from which the the city derived its name from, and head to the beautiful and natural wonder that is the Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple. Ipoh is also famed for its local pomelo fruits - so stopping to enjoy a few is an absolute must. The region is also known for its rich and scrumptious offerings. While here you may get a chance to tuck into Shark Meat Porridge, Ipoh’s Famous Bean Sprouts, Chicken Noodle and the famous Curry Chicken Bread.

EXPLORE MALAYSIA WITH WTS TRAVEL WTS Travel offers an exclusive tour package to Kuala Sepetang and LEGOLAND Malaysia.
W
TS Travel is giving you a chance to explore Ipoh with Mediacorp artiste, Aileen Tan. The Singaporean veteran actress, who has starred in many successful productions since 1988, will be joining the tour to sight-see the best attractions in Ipoh with you. Tuck into a scrumptious dinner with this brilliant talent or simply discover Ipoh’s most prominent attractions with her. As the capital of Perak and as the third largest city in Malaysia, Ipoh offers travellers with its unique fusion of quaint charms and modern amenities. Attracting foodies from all over the world to indulge in the local delicacies, the city also has a reputation for being a food paradise. The city centre consists of two main sections - Ipoh Old Town and Ipoh New Town. Most of the prewar buildings and historical landmarks are housed in Ipoh Old Town. Besides being steeped in history, the city is known for providing a myriad of activities and must-see sights that encapsulate the rich and diverse culture of Ipoh. One such attraction is the Qing Xin Ling Leisure Cultural Village. Along with the limestone hill serving as a backdrop, the numerous strikingly painted housing estates make this village eyecatching and intriguing. Known as “Serene Hill, the site has incorporated its natural surroundings with its modern amenities. The village has grown in popularity over the years and has become Ipoh’s latest tourist spot. Since its establishment in August 2014, it has attracted some 10,000 visitors. Travellers will get to admire the region’s craftsmanship when they get an up-close look at the various food and drink carts, gazebos, carriages and other woodcraft. In addition to its exquisite woodwork, the village offers a variety of outdoor activities such as jungle trekking, bicycle riding, etc. You may even wish to take a trishaw with family and friends to explore the area faster. Similar to the cultural village, the Concubine Lane is another place that provides visitors with a peek into the long history of Ipoh. Also known as Panglima Lane, this infamous area was once a red light district, along with Hale Lane and Market Lane. The once bustling tin-mining town was lined with brothels and opium dens. Besides stoking the vices of coolies, this place also served as a home and somewhat hiding spot for concubines owned by tycoons. Today, Panglima Lane a.k.a Concubine Lane is known for its less nefarious ways. In recent years, the government has been actively promoting the spot as part of Heritage Trail. The large-scale effort to highlight the area’s history and culture, has attracted travellers from all over the world to experience Ipoh’s rich past and colonial-influenced architecture. In addition to being a cultural hotspot, the lane has also developed a reputation for housing the best restaurants and eateries in town. If you’d like to go somewhere more exciting then consider grabbing the family and heading to LEGOLAND Malaysia! The affordable package by WTS Travel will not only keep the little ones engaged for hours, but will also serve as the perfect
destination for family bonding and fun. Opening in November 2016, the newest LEGOLAND Malaysia attraction NINJAGO™ The Ride will feature the famous heroes from LEGO® NINJAGO™. Utilising 3D and 4D technology, this out of this world ride will allow visitors to throw lightning bolts, blast fireballs and send ice flying by using a hand gesture technology created by Maestro™. Visitors will be able to control the outcome of the game with just the use of their hands. Hand movements will be registered by sensors on lap bars, which will in turn direct the virtual projectiles towards the screen. The surreal experience is offered exclusively in LEGO® NINJAGO™, and promises to take players on an unforgettable ride. Inspired by the popular LEGO® line of NINJAGO™ toys and a related TV series, the ride requires Ninja warriors - played by riders - to train under the powerful NINJAGO™ character Master Wu to defeat enemies. This new state-of-the-art attraction will keep the entire family entertained and engaged with its cutting-edge technology. So mark your calendars and play hero with your kids to vanquish the legion of darkness this November! *Little ones will also get a chance to meet Kai, the Red Ninja of Fire during the Travel Malaysia Fair from the 14th to 16th October. For more information, please visit WTS Travel at Booth A27, A33, B27, B33, or D21, Travel Malaysia Fair 2016.

FINLAND, WHERE URBANITY MEETS NATURE As a country known for its natural beauty and the Northern Lights, this European nation keeps travellers hooked with its modern cities, adrenaline-inducing activities and man-made attractions.
B
Helsinki
Nestled in Finland’s southern capital, Helsinki is a bustling metropolis that’s home to over half a million people. The city is known for its impressive structures and pastel-coloured buildings situated along Helsinki’s waterfront. Conjuring such picturesque views, it’s no wonder that Helsinki was awarded City of Design status as part of the Creative Cities Network established by UNESCO. Helsinki offers various attractions at close proximity allowing visitors to explore the city’s architecture, cultural highlights and natural areas easily on foot. One of the most notable attraction is the Market Square, which is located in the South Harbour. The numerous booths sell everything from traditional market foods and treats to handicrafts and souvenirs. Travellers with a penchant for Neoclassical architecture can also drop by the Senate Square. The imposing bleach-white Helsinki Cathedral, the Government Palace, the National Library of Finland and the main building of the University of Helsinki are located within the confines of the square. Another equally popular attraction is the Temppeliaukio church, built like a fortress, this unique and out of this world structure was

excavated directly into solid rock. Unlike other churches, the Temppeliaukio is built entirely underground with interiors made out of rugged rock and rubble walls, along with a dome covering the church hall.
Rovaniemi
As the capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi is located in Northern Finland and is known for being the best place for catching rare sights of the elusive Northern Lights. Located in the heart of the Arctic wilderness, the city is dubbed the “official” home town of Santa Claus and land of fairytales, and takes the form of a winter wonderland imbued with the spirit of Christmas a month before the annual festival. Every year numerous visitors flock to the lively town to experience the

true magic of the religious and cultural celebration. Travellers visiting the region during the Christmas season, not only get to send a postcard from the Santa’s Main Post Office, but will also be awarded with a Arctic Circle Crossing Certificate as proof of their journey across the Arctic Circle. Visitors keen to sleep under the stars can spend a night in a cosy glassroofed igloo, which might even give them a rare opportunity to see the Northern Lights in the comfort of their rooms. noteworthy attraction would be the Ranua Wildlife Park. Home to as many as 50 species of wildlife, the park shelters bears, reindeers, wolves and many other animals.
Saariselkä
Situated in the mountainous area in Northern Finland, this scenic destination is a popular tourist spot that provides a multitude of activities to travellers from all over the world. The unspoiled natural beauty coupled with generous offerings of exciting must-dos, Saariselkä provides travellers with a one-of-a-kind experience that can’t be found anywhere else. Thrill-seekers can partake in various sports, including skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking to sate their thirst for adventure. Visitors can drop by the ski resort in the area to put their skiing and snowboarding skills to the test. Additionally, the region provides other highlights such as snowmobile safaris on the fells, rides with Husky sledges in the wildness, etc. Beyond the multiple number of activities, diverse landscapes, and abundant wildlife, Saariselkä is a village steeped in history. It was once a major site noted for its gold rushes, which started back in 1869 and lasted until 1900. It is possible to find gold in the Saariselkä area to this day and because of this, Lapland sees its fair share of amateur gold diggers and professionals pursuing gold mining or placer mining as a full-time profession.
“Visitors keen to sleep under the stars can spend a night in a cosy glass-roofed igloo, which might even give them the rare opportunity to see the Northern Lights in the comfort of their rooms.” Winter Activities in Lapland: Husky Sledding

Snowmobile Riding
As the name implies, dog sleds are sleds that are mostly pulled by dogs over ice or through snow. In the past, sled dogs were utilised as the main mode of transport by people who lived in the Arctic region. Today, people still travel using dog sleds and even hold sled dog races. Dog sledding is sometimes referred to as “mushing”, and a person who travels via dog sled is called a “musher”. Dog sled teams can travel up to a whopping 32 kph, and since long distance travel requires endurance and speed, the dogs must be at optimal health.
Taking the snowmobile out for a ride across the vast snow-covered terrain is an activity that has grown in popularity since the first snowmobile was created. Snowmobiles not only provide a faster way to explore the snowy wilderness, but also serve as a means to travel more efficiently and effectively across the lands. The ease of use has prompted a shorter learning time, as most beginners pick up the basics of maneuvering and navigating this machine fairly quickly. he culturally-rich country of South Korea is not only steeped in history and natural beauty, but encapsulates age-old traditions that transcend time. The near-perfect fusion of ancient and modern elements is reflected throughout the country, making this East Asian nation a distinctive and charming destination. As the largest largest city in South Korea, Busan is a beautiful port city that boasts good infrastructure and has become a popular metropolis that has made it on the must-visit lists of many. In addition to its lively and energetic atmosphere, Busan is believed to exude a romantic ambience with its natural landscapes and heart-tugging attractions. One of which includes the Busan Tower, where couples attach love locks to fences and benches as a testament to their everlasting devotion to one another. Whether you got to know about this place after watching the recent South Korean Zombie Hit “Train to Busan”, or if you’re simply curious about this bustling city, Busan’s alluring coastlines, attractions and warm hospitality never fails to captivate travellers from near and far.

Oryukdo Skywalk
“In addition to its lively and energetic atmosphere, Busan is believed to exude a romantic ambience with its natural landscapes and heart-tugging attractions.”
Oryukdo Islands is a notable National Cultural Heritage Scenic Spot in South Korea. Besides offering spectacular views, the Oryukdo Skywalk provides a challenging trail for sports lovers. Oryukdo Skywalk was operational on October 18, 2013 and adopted the theme “Walking over the Sky”. Built on a 35-meter-high coastal cliff, this 15-meter glass bridge is shaped like a horse’s hoof that allows you to
Gamcheon Cultural Village
Colourfully painted rooftops and buildings are neatly organised on a hillside cityscape. Dubbed the Santorini of South Korea, Gamcheon Cultural Village is a must-visit destination when one visits Busan. Walking along the alleys in this community, visitors will discover the vibrantly decorated murals and sculptures created by the residents. Since the initiation of the public art project, the place was revamped into a cozy neighborhood that mesmerises travellers with its unique art and history. Explore art galleries, craft shops and whimsical cafes in the community. Engage in a ‘Treasure Hunt’ to catch the sculpture of ‘Little Prince and
Desert Fox’ and around the corner, find the iconic artwork ‘Becoming One’ by artist Moon Byung Tak who painted the scenery on silhouetted cut-outs of humans.
Yongdusan Park, Busan Tower
Located inside Yongdusan Park, this 120-metre tall Busan Tower remains as one of the best spots that offers a spectacular panoramic view of the entire city. Besides boasting stunning views in the night, there are plenty of historical and cultural attractions in the park such as the Statue of the Great Admiral Yi Sun-shin, the Bell of the Citizens, a flower clock, etc. Visit the padlock-adorned fence and be captivated by the numerous hand-written messages attached to these adorable locks. Unlike the cable that takes visitors up to the Nam-sam Tower in Seoul, the Yongdusan Park has a hillside escalator leading up to the tower.
Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) Square
The BIFF was revamped to become a famed cultural tourist attraction to promote the advancement of South Korea’s film industry. Since then, the BIFF has gained global recognition and has put Busan in the forefront of the Asian film industry. The square itself is a 428-metre long street that stretches from the Buyeong Theater in Mapo-dong to the overpass in Chungmu-dong, and is divided into “Star Street” and “Festival Street”. Besides featuring movie theaters and long stretches of shops, there are also numerous stalls that sell scrumptious street food.

ARTS & CULTURE IN KOREA
Seokguram Grotto
Built by Kim Dae-Seong, who also constructed the Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram was designated as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995, abandoned for many centuries until it was rediscovered in 1909. It is believed that Kim Dae-Deong had Bulgaksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto built for his parents in his current life and former life respectively.Located four kilometers East of Bulguksa Temple on the Tohamsan Mountain, this representative stone temple of South Korea houses the Bonjon Statue and statues of Bodhisattva and his disciples.
Bulguksa Temple
Bulguksa Temple is one of the few precious remaining architectural monuments of the Silla Kingdom. It was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995 and remains as a symbolic relic of Gyeongju. This Buddhist temple is known for its antique stone relics and its mystical stone prayer garden.

Catch a glimpse of what South Korea was like before it became a bustling metropolis. Most traditions were preserved and passed down the generations to immortalise age-old practices. Built along the Nakdong River which draws a beautiful S-shaped bend that surrounds the area, the Hahoe Folk Village has been described as a lotus floating on the water.
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Located North of Gwanghwamun Square, Gyeongbokgung Palace is one of the most iconic sights in South Korea. After being destroyed by a fire during the Japanese Invasion and left abandoned for nearly 300 years, the palace was rebuilt to look better than before. With most of the representative edifices of the Joseon Dynasty remaining relatively intact, the Gyeongbokgung Palace is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful palaces in South Korea.

History
“As a notable beach destination, Goa boasts a 105 km coastline with the finest beaches in India all found in one place.”
INDIA Goa
The distinctive architecture and the Goa’s tropical spice plantations reflect the former Portuguese colony’s rich history. From its 17th-century churches to its 300-year-old Spice Plantation, the state captivates travellers with its natural and historical sights. In the past, travellers, possibly Phoenicians, ventured into Goa looking for spices such as pepper, ginger, cardamom and saffron. And because of the state’s geographical position, Goa was one of the finest harbours on India’s western flank. The presence of Goa’s first settlers influenced the architectural styles of the temples, churches and other structures that stand to this day. The churches of old Goa were built in the 16th and 17th centuries and adopted baroque Renaissance and Gothic architectural styles. The conquistadors and settlers’ presence in the state not only mirrored the architecture of the buildings, but also in the languages, culture and customs that have seamlessly integrated with the existing traditions. One of the more notable example of a building comprised of European architectural styles is the Se Cathedral. Constructed in Portuguese-Gothic style with a Tuscan exterior and Corinthian interior it is comprised of 14 altars, in which the main altar is dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, and old paintings depicting scenes from her life and martyrdom are placed on either sides. The cathedral’s 80-metre long aisle is an impressive sight with ornamental embellishments culminating in a magnificent gilt altar. As an ancient and celebrated religious building in Goa, this imposing 16th century monument was commissioned by the Portuguese Viceroy. The cathedral is known for housing five bells, the “Golden Bell” being one of the largest and famous bell in Goa.
Beaches
As a notable beach destination, Goa boasts a 105 km coastline with the finest beaches in India all found in one place. The most popular stretch of beaches in North Goa is the triumvirate of Sinquerim (Aguada beach) Calangute and Baga, all of which form a graceful 7 km arc. Behind the beaches, a road leads up to a multitude of establishments, including hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops and travel agencies. Another well-known destination is Palolem Beach, located in the extreme South near Goa’s border, this site is famous for its nightlife. Looking like something out of a postcard, this palm-fringed tropical beach captivates travellers with stunning views and lures them to bask in the sun-kissed shores of Goa. Travellers seeking a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle, may visit the beaches of Vagator and Chapora. ENCAPSULATING CHINA’S VIVID HISTORY
Unparalleled in many ways, the Great Wall of China is an impressive architectural feat that has stood the test of time.
Great Wall of China
to this day was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368 1644), which covers nine provinces and municipalities. If you’re exploring this great architectural marvel, there are several places to visit first, such as the famous Badaling which is easily accessible from downtown of Beijing - a car ride would take approximately 1.5 hours. Badaling is one of the best preserved and heavily restored section and is equipped with handrails, cable cars and hotels that cater to travellers with different needs. As a popular
destination, the Great Wall usually receives about 11 million visitors per year, however, you can beat the crowd if you travel at a non-peak season between spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). In spring, lush green forests and blossoming apricot trees are a sight to behold, whereas autumn paints the landscape in hues of deep oranges and reds. lso known as “Ten Thousand Li Long Wall” in Chinese, the Great Wall of China is not only an iconic landmark steeped in history, but also a testament to China’s perseverance and its enduring strength. As one of the greatest human accomplishment in history, the Great Wall of China was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. Although adverse weather conditions and reckless human activities had led to the loss of some walls, the structure is nonetheless a symbolic icon of China. A series of walls and fortifications stretch across 15 provinces, and was built with the intention to prevent invasions and as a defensive measure to protect travellers traversing along the Silk Road in the past. Resembling a gigantic, stone dragon, this structure extends a thousand of miles from the East to West of China. As a sizable structure, the world wonder provides stunning views of the rugged landscape. The wall measures up to 21196.18 km and encompasses a total of 43721 heritage sites, making the Great Wall a triumph of engineering. Directly associated with China’s history and past emperors, it embodies the nation’s inherent spirit and wisdom of the ancient Chinese. It was common knowledge that “Emperor Qin” built the Great Wall, and although construction of the Great Wall began as early as 7th century BC, it was constantly revamped in different historical periods to serve a unique strategic purpose over 2000 years.
