CAREERS BULLETIN Careers Events- March 2018 Discover Ernst & Young Conference, Wednesday 11 July 9.45am – 2.00pm

International University Event, Wycombe Abbey School, Wednesday 14 March 11.45am – 1.45pm

Held in Ernst and Young's offices in central London, this event is aimed at Year 12 students who have a genuine interest in discovering more about the careers in Business and Financial Services. The day will allow students to gain inside perspective by networking with the experts, learning top tips for surviving the application process and information on how to develop the essential soft skills which employers look for in the world of work. Representatives from universities in Australia, Europe, Canada and America will be on hand to discuss the merits of studying with them. The session will start at 11.45 with a presentation giving an overview of studying abroad. This will then be followed by a chance to visit the exhibition stands for the universities attending and talk to those representatives individually. Parents are also welcome. Students are advised to contact Mrs Miles if they wish to attend this event.

This event will offer Year 12 students the chance to take part in two academic taster sessions of their choice, hearing about today’s hot topics from a range of academic departments. There will also be practical information about applying to university, and the opportunity to find out more about all of the programmes Royal Holloway University offer. The Lawyers Portal, Natonal Law Apprenticeship conference The Lawyer Portal is hosting a Free National Apprenticeship Conference at Latymer Upper School in London on the 17th March 2018 is a must-attend event. Law apprenticeships are taking the market by storm. It is the brand new ‘earn as you learn’ pathway to becoming a fully qualified solicitor. The conference will have representatives from top law firms who are keen to make students aware of the law apprenticeship opportunities available to them. The event will unlock this amazing opportunity for its attendees; illuminating how best to succeed in securing a law apprenticeship, from making the application, to attending the interview, through to the job offer.
