SPORT-A-THON UPDATE
Rowing Over the summer, Georgia Dean (Y12, T8) competed for the GB junior rowing team in a race against the French Team. She raced in the eight with 3 other girls from her club alongside 4 girls from Henley after trailing against many other boats from England, Scotland and Wales. It was an amazing experience and luckily they finished it off with a win!
Netball
Our ‘New Year, New Sport’ Sport-a-thon has officially begun. Parents, students and staff are encouraged to complete the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles) in a sport that is not your regular activity over a period of three months. TEACHER FEATURE
Three of our WHS U13 Netballers won the U13 league for Marlow Netball Club! Congratulations Devon Grimsdell (Y8 N6), Ellie Ervine (Y8, T7), Hazel King (Y8, N4) and Emily Sanderson Miss Snook is on her way with her MARATHON PENTATHLON! She has (Y8, C3). progressed in each as she is doing them all at the same time! She is a quarter of the way through two of them! Swim / row, Cycle, Run, Walk, MaraFUN Imogen Fernandes (Y12, C6) (various school-based challenges over has been selected as a the 1/2 mile course). member of a squad of twelve young people representing Bucks at the Rio Badminton Mr Houston has challenged himself to do essentially 4 Tournament in York held on Marathons in 4 Months. In fact, the 16 & 17 January. The best eight counties attended with the finale will be a 50km "Ultra", so Bucks team coming out victorious. totalling 109 miles of racing over the 4 events.

KS3 Badminton won one match 3-2 and lost the other 2-3 against Great Marlow School, thus resulting in a draw!
Cross Country Next race is the Bucks Schools Cross Country Race on Wednesday 3 February at Hughenden Park. Good luck!
Cricket Our U16 Cricket team faced Sir William Ramsey in a friendly match, where not only Year 11 team members but all years down to the Year 7s made their debut! Some tough runs made but overall success for WHS with a win of 207 to 115.

Mr Mackerras is walking 500 miles (Proclaimers! See pic of them in his room). He has worked out a graph explaining how he is going to make it different than just fundraising per mile walked. He wants to raise the most money when he gets near the 500 mile mark so that he can be really determined to reach the end milestone and raise as much money as possible!
