Swimming On Thursday 1 March , Rachel Cox, (P7 Y13) Millie Sansome (T4 Y12) and Megan Daley (P5 Y9) travelled to Edinburgh to compete in the British Swimming Championships at the The Squash Inter-County Championship Finals commonwealth pool. Individual Success Squash

Rowing Congratulations to Eloise Brindle (C5 Y10) who on Monday 12 March competed in the Schools Head of the River Race and took home the bronze in the WJ15 coxed eight. Additionally, on Tuesday 13 March she also took part in the Oarsport National Junior Sculling Head, and was part of the WJ15 Crew that took the silver! An amazing achievement, well done!

Gymnastics Huge congratulations to Lara Thornton (A7, Y9) who placed 27th in the British Gymnastics Championships at the Liverpool Echo Arena, out of 54 competitors and placing 10th in the uneven bars! An awesome achievement given her patella fracture in Novemeber! We are extremely proud of you!

U17 and U15 Squash National School Championships

The Wycombe High School Under 15 and 17 squash teams had an outstanding National Final, with each winning a bronze medal in their U16 National School Championships respective competition! Volleyball

The South Bucks A Team advanced to the second round of the Nationals, the Southern Division, and played in Dorking, Surrey on Saturday 24 March. 10 Wycombe High girls have qualified for the Southern regional round of the U15 national volleyball tournament 24 March in Surrey. Of the 8 teams competing on Saturday, 2 will progress to the national finals in May at Loughborough University. G ood luck girls!

Global Rock On Monday 13 March 55 WHS students went to the Wycombe Swan to compete in the dance and drama competition the Global Rock Challenge. The piece was about a boy who dreamed of joining the circus but the circus was not as it Gymnastics seemed as he got segregated and discriminated against. It was full of colour and energy with a Milano Championships The Milano Gymnastics Championships took place variety of dance styles ranging from can-can, gymnastics, ballet to street. They won numerous at St Mary’s School on Sunday 14 January, the awards including student leadership award, spirit competition is of a very high standard the WHS Squad trained incredibly hard in the build up to the award, stage crew award, and best costume just to name a few! event. All the WHS performances were of an exceptionally high standard and this was reflected in the overall scores with many of the squad scoring 15 point or higher routines, there were several standout performances, Poppy Whelehan (P10 Y9), Hannah Thompson (A10 Y8) and Erin Rees (B8 Y7) included amongst some of the highest scoring gymnasts of the day! The squad’s vaulting performance was also consistently scored highly. Ilka Ramsden (A2 Y8) blew the judges away with her beautifully executed handspring vault, having never performed before the competition!

Football

Overall Results: U13: 3rd place U16: 4th place U19: 4th place

As the U13 football seasons draws to a close, we would like to say a massive well done to all girls who took part. We do have some games left after Easter as the beast from the east got the better of us. We will wait until then to find out the league results. So far we have won 3 and lost 1 game. Keep it up girls!!!

Floor and Vault Championships After a successful performance at the Milano Championships the WHS squad went on to compete at the Floor and Vault Championships on Sunday 28 January. Yet again the squad consistently impressed with their performance on the floor and in vault against some tough competition! The U14 squad placed 11th, an excellent score with this competition being most of the team first secondary school championships. The U19 squad was the youngest team competing in their category and managed to secure a 3rd 3


Cricket

second match against Highgate with Emma Turrell (P4 Y7) scoring the winning goal, the win boosted their confidence and the team went on to play exceptionally well. The ended the tournament in 5th position, an excellent achievement for WHS youngest hockey team! We would like thank Jess Harrison (N4 Y12) for volunteering to coach the U12 team throughout the season.

The U15 and U13 Indoor Cricket team secured their spot at the County Finals by winning their respective District Championships hosted by Wycombe High School. There was some incredible cricket on show by both teams who absolutely smashed the opposition to become clear winners in both age groups. They now go onto the County Finals to be held at Dr Challoner’s Grammar School on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 March!

Netball District Tournament Results U12 & U13 A&B Tournament

U13 Team: Alice Rooney (C3 Y8), Sophie Midwinter (N1 Y7), Amber Drewe (P7 Y7), Lydia Easton (N7 Y8), Hafsah Mehmood (A1 Y8), Charlese Briggs (T3 Y8)), Aimee Sunday-Birch (B2 Y8), Diya Sohi (P9 Y8) and Keshni Manek (B6 Y8).

Well done to the U12 A, B, U13 A and B teams for taking part in the end of season tournaments. All teams have had fantastic seasons and we are awaiting the final results for the league. Watch this space!

U15 Team: Ella Widdowson (T9 Y10) Holly Jarvis (T10 Y10), Carrie Dryden (A5 Y10), Annalise Alton (P9 Y10), Humymaha Gul (B3 Y10), Amber Drewe (P7 Y7), Naima Ashraf (T1 Y9), Kirsty McKendrick (C9 Y10), Rhianna Ramachandran (T1 Y10) and Steph Williams (B10 Y10).

The U12 A team came 3rd out of 9 teams and U12 B came 8th. The U13 A team WON the district tournament out of 9 teams and the U13 B team came 9th. All teams played so well and did themselves and the school proud. Keep it up!

Swimming League Results On Wednesday 14 March the fourth and final league gala took place at Wycombe Abbey School. Throughout the League the WHS Junior, Inter and Senior teams have delivered exceptional performances and regularly breaking league records. The WHS team have had a close battle against Aylesbury High School for first place, and it all came down to their performances in the final Spring Inter-house gala. U12 Hockey In2Regional Round

Join us for our Golden Coast Commonwealth The U12 Hockey team arrived at Woking Hockey themed sports day on Tuesday 10 July. More details to follow after the Easter Holidays. Club on Monday 12 March feeling confident and Reserve date: Tuesday 17 July ready to compete. Optimism was set high for the difficult first game against St John’s.
