Transatlantic Tall Ships Regatta In the wake of the Great Explorers Sailing Tall Ships Races Every year the majority of the worldwide Tall Ships Fleet gathers in Europe for a few weeks. With the aim of improving international friendship and understanding, these majestic vessels race each other with international teams of trainees from port to port, celebrating each arrival at amazing festivals. In 2017 a very special edition will take place: The Rendez-Vous 2017 Transatlantic Tall Ships Regatta. In the wake of the great explorers and in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation, the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta is a 7000 nautical mile, transatlantic race between forty vessels visiting six countries. The adventure of a lifetime! Participating in a Tall Ships Regatta combines an adventurous journey with meeting people from all over the world, getting to know different cultures, enjoying festivities and exploring different cities.

ABOUT THE WYLDE SWAN What to expect on the Wylde Swan In 2011 during the Tall Ships Races the Wylde Swan crew won the Trophy for International Friendship and Understanding. The atmosphere on board that made us win that trophy still defines sailing on the Wylde Swan as it is today. Our amazingly dedicated, ambitious and friendly crew; the positive, easy and hospitable atmosphere they create on board; the professional environment on the Wylde Swan and the great team spirit on board will offer you a fun and valuable experience. From the first day you set foot on board you will feel at home on Wylde Swan. During this adventure you will make friends for life and be a part of the team right away, ready to race this amazing and fast two-mast topsail schooner together with your fellow team members. Sailing Wylde Swan The Wylde Swan is a sail training ship. Under the expert supervision of an international crew, trainees learn all there is to know about sailing a ship. Wylde Swan is the largest two-masted topsail schooner in the world. With her impressive sail area and sharp, fast hull, she promises a spectacular sailing experience. We aim for the highest quality in sailing performance, education, hospitality and presence. Our hospitality and catering have enjoyed an excellent reputation since 1993. During competitions, the Wylde Swan always goes for the prizes. The summer rigging was designed for sailing performance of the highest caliber. The enormous sails demand the utmost from the rigging and the masts. With the stunsails set, the ship is 118 feet wide and 141 feet high! Sail area: 3700 ft2. The Wylde Swan is a certified training ship and therefore complies with international requirements for passenger transport at sea.

Explore Canada: The Great Lakes Flotilla In Hamilton (CA) we start a special part of our Transatlantic Tall Ships Regatta: the Great Lakes Flotilla! Together with a part of the Transatlantic TSR Fleet we set sail from Hamilton (CA), to Quebec City where the entire fleet meets to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation through its founders and founding provinces. During the Great Lakes Flotilla, on our way from Hamilton to Quebec, we visit several ports. These ports are: • Hamilton (CA) - Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July 2017 • Bath - Trois Rivieres Friday 7 July to Sunday 9 July 2017 • Trois Rivieres - Friday 14 July to Sunday 16 July 2017 The Great Lakes Flotilla has a lot to offer, from active sailing on Lake Ontario to exploring multiple towns in Ontario, Canada.You can also take the chance to visit Niagara Falls, before you embark in Hamilton! When sailing, the entire team on board is divided into four watches. Together with your watch mates you determine the course of the ship and navigate her to the next destination on your way to Quebec. During your watch you learn things like hoisting sails, climbing up to the yard safely and how to navigate. You experience the value and fun of teamwork, responsibility and respect, all necessary for sailing a Tall Ship. At the end of this all-round trip, you sail into the City of Quebec where the main event of the Transatlantic Tall Ships Race takes place: The Rendez-Vous Naval de Quebec.
