Long-Term Testimonials

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS

This is what our customers said about our medium and long-term grass seed mixtures.

Nigel Owens, STITCHING IN MIXES

Gwendraeth Vally, Lanelli, Suckler beef “I wanted to bolster the quality and production of our older leys, so looked to stitch in a variety of grass mixes. We reseeded around 15 acres, and the Wynnstay long term overseeding grass seed mix was a simple solution to rejuvenate 14 acres of ground we wanted to improve. We needed the mix to establish quickly alongside the existing grass, which it did, and it’s helped provide quality grazing for our suckler herd. The aim is to utilise the land for haylage and potentially hay in the summer.”

Chris Clayton,

SOVEREIGN

Newtown, Powys, Beef and sheep “Sovereign has been our go-to grass mix for around 10 years. We reseed 20-25 acres annually, to ensure we maintain silage quality in the clamp. The leys are mainly used as forage for ewes at lambing, to maintain condition and ensure they have the energy to support colostrum production. We’re always happy with the results.”

Guto Jones,

IMPERIAL

Ceredigion, Sheep farmer “The 15 acre field we reseeded last year historically hasn’t performed well for us. However, when we introduced Imperial, this changed. It provided a great grazing cover to fatten over 250 lambs over the summer, meaning we could get these off the farm quickly. We prefer using long-term mixes, as once drilled, we don’t want to have to touch the field for three to five years, and looking at how Imperial has performed, this will tick the box for us. No fuss, with great results.”

Ewan Phillips,

KINGDOM/IMPERIAL

Ceredigion, Dairy farmer “Our land varies, so we require different mixes to suit our needs. Kingdom works great on the 30 acres of heavy land which we use for grazing our cows from late-March onwards, rotating fields every 18-25 days. Imperial is used on 10 acres of silage-making ground, where we took four cuts last year. We’ve just finished feeding the first cut from the clamp and the cows milked very well off it – this is vital as forage forms a big part of our ration.”
