SPED Teacher Jen McKee really enjoys listening to podcasts. “They’re entertaining and I feel like I learn a lot of great stuff from listening.â€? When she stumbled across an e-mail about a grant for school innovation in our District, she knew just what to apply for - equipment to start up Triumph’s very own podcast. She knew the librarian, Sarah Horen, had written grants before, so she asked her to work on writing up the proposal. On November 13th, the grant went before the funding committee and they were impressed. They liked the idea so much that a couple of weeks later, -HQ DQG 6DUDK ZHUH QRWLÂżHG WKDW 7ULXPSK had been awarded the fully funded grant!

“We’re excited to get rolling on things. The “Shadows” theme is designed to showcase the beauty/illusion of what shadows cast upon the eye and imagination. Photographers may enter in a variety of categories: Youth (12 and under, 13-17), Amateur, Intermediate, Semi-Professional, Professional, and Enhanced Photography. Wyoming State Museum Family Days Program

Auditions for the Annual Atlas Follies Fundraiser

Forensic Science will be the inspiration for the next Wyoming State Museum Family Days program, to be held on Saturday, January 4, 10:00am2:00pm. Families are encouraged to help solve a mystery at the Museum as they learn to analyze fingerprints, examine a crime scene, and identify a suspect using chromatography. Participants are invited to stop by to explore the Museum and participate in the Family Days program. Family Days is a free program of the Wyoming State Museum, sponsored by Walmart, which provides children and their families with fun and educational opportunities to explore Wyoming’s natural and cultural resources. Family Days is held the first Saturday of the month at the Wyoming State Museum, 2301 Central Avenue. Each month’s program has a different theme and activities are geared towards young children and their families. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission to the Museum and all of its educational programming is free. The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players (CLTP) are holding auditions for their annual Atlas Follies fundraiser, Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits!, Sunday, January 5, at 2:00pm, and Monday, January 6, at 6:30pm, with potential callbacks on Tuesday, January 7, at 6:30pm. There will be two performances, Friday, February 28 and Saturday, February 29. They are casting 2-4 men and 2-4 women over the age of 18 for this show. Auditioners should bring 16-32 bars of a prepared humorous song. An accompanist will be provided. If you wish to use a cell phone and bluetooth speaker you will need to provide them yourself. You will also learn a dance with the CLTP choreographer, so wear clothes and shoes you can move in. You will also be asked to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, emulating specific celebrities. The specific celebrities are: John Travolta, Harvey Weinstein, Ethel Merman, Carol Channing (a male in full drag), Mandy Patinkin, Barbara Streisand, Liza Minnelli, Rita Moreno, Chita Rivera, Idina Menzel, and Tim Curry. RABATS are a garment worn by CLERGY. It has no sleeves or back, but is worn like a WAISTCOAT or WESKIT. The collar worn with a RABAT is actually a DICKEY – it looks like a collar attached to a shirt but is actually just a collar. For many older Wyomingites, going back to work is not an option, it’s a necessity. The nonproďŹ t organization Experience Works, Inc. operates the Senior Community Service Employment Program, SCSEP, in 21 Wyoming counties. The US Department of Labor funded program is geared for people 55 and older who are unemployed, with limited annual incomes and limited job prospects. The program is free and available to those who qualify. Experience Works accepts program applications by appointment statewide. Participants spend an average of 20 hours a week in work experience training at public and nonproďŹ t organizations, earning minimum wage that is paid through the SCSEP. As participants become job-ready, their efforts provide extra support to tackle projects that might otherwise not be possible due to tight operating budgets. Participants have access to a variety of additional training and supportive services such as developing resumes, improving interview skills, and identifying job opportunities.
