The Wyoming Historical Society is actively planning its 2025 Calendar. The 2025 Calendar theme is Wyoming families partaking in events and activities. The society is asking for historic photograph submissions to be featured in the calendar. It includes a snippet on each day noting “what happened and where.” The tidbits range from the serious to the unbelievable, but all newsworthy in their day! Photographs from individuals, families, museums, newspapers, libraries, and other organizations are welcome to be submitted. Photographs must be at least 5 inches tall by 7 inches wide landscape format or be able to be cropped to that ratio. Photographs, either physical or a digital scan at 600 dpi, must be received by February 1. People, location, and, if possible, the activity, should be identified with submission. Original photographs will be returned. Final photographs will be selected by the Wyoming Historical Society’s Calendar committee. Annual Cheyenne Habitat Hero Workshop

The 10th annual Cheyenne Habitat Hero Workshop, “Ways to Make and Keep a Garden for the Birds and Bees, Plus Advice on Trees,” will be held February 3, 8:00am-4:00pm at Laramie County Community College in the Pathfinder Building, 1400 East College Drive. Laramie County DUI Victim Impact Panel will be held January 29. All panels are held at LCCC in the Center for Conferences, room 130, 1400 East College Drive, start time is 6:30pm. The Mission of the Laramie County DUI Impact Panel is to stop drunken and drugged driving and to create awareness regarding the tragic consequences of this event. Registration Open for Adult Dodgeball League

The Cheyenne Recreation Division has announced that registration is now open for the Adult Co-Rec Dodgeball League. Early registration will continue until February 15, with late registration running from February 16-29, a $50 late fee will be added if space is available. All registration closes after February 29. The season starts April 1 and will tentatively run until May 30. Two brand new, exciting and action-packed events will call the Event Center at Archer home this February thanks to a partnership between Laramie County Events and Visit Cheyenne. A brand new rodeo event, The Frozen Fury on the Plains, will take place February 10 and Winter Knights of Cheyenne, a medieval jousting event, will fill the stands on February 17 and 18. The Fourth Annual Charity Classic Car Show, Cars, Cigars, Guitars - Under the Stars, was held last year on August 19. The event was a huge success, raising money for local charities. Due to the support of the major underwriters and many sponsors and supporters, over $50,000 was raised to benefit Coats for Kids, South Side Sluggers, Veteran’s Rock and Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative. Over the last four years, this Annual AHEPA Community event has generated over $200,000 for local charities. January 5, 2024 — Assistance Investigating Vehicle Burglary

Cheyenne Police Department is requesting assistance identifying the two pictured subjects. They may have information regarding a vehicle burglary and credit card fraud case. The victim’s vehicle was left inside of an open garage, unlocked, with valuables inside. Security camera footage shows a suspect entered the garage and stole several items, including a credit card, which was then used to make unauthorized transactions, totaling over $7,000. Detectives believe that the man may have a tattoo of a rose on his left hand. Anyone with information or surveillance video of these crimes is encouraged to contact Detective Webster at 307-633-6692.
