Trader’s Celebrates 47th Anniversary!

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 47 years since the first issue of Trader’s Shopper’s Guide rolled off the press. Back in 1973, things were much different. Trader’s averaged only 4 pages and had a circulation of approximately 500 copies. Today, Trader’s has moved to the forefront of the market in southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. Our most recent circulation audit indicates that over 18,000 copies are picked up every issue. Throughout the month of January, all of Trader’s display advertisers will be recognized with a special “Anniversary Symbol” identifying their number of years as Trader’s advertisers. This is just one of the many promotions Trader’s will use to celebrate 47 great years of serving our communities. Looking to the future, we are certain that Trader’s Shopper’s Guide will continue to grow and improve. Our experienced and dedicated staff will always strive to make improvements to our publications. Wyoming Independent Living All In-A Youth Transition workshop, January 14 through April 28, 3:30pm-4:30pm, at 1609 East 19th Street. VANG

A VANG is a piece of equipment for ships, which looks like a block and tackle. It controls the tension of the boom - the spar at the foot of a sail on a sailboat. There are a few different types of VANGS. A VANG is controlled by an OUTHAUL, a rope that runs from the CLEW of the sail to the end of the boom. A DOWNHAUL is a rope used for hauling down sails. When sails are shortened, they are REEFED. REEFING sails is important during storms. Sails must be handled appropriately to prevent TURTLING. Wyoming State Historical Society Grants

Samson Exploration has ďŹ led an application with the Wyoming Oil and Gas Commission to drill 11 oil wells at the corner of North College and Four Mile Road in Cheyenne. Most wells are to drill horizontally throughout the area and will most likely be using fracking materials. The time is extremely short to voice any opposition or concern about these proposed wells. Cheyenne residents must write letters of opposition or attend the proposed hearing to be held in Casper on Tuesday, February 11, 9:00am. Letters must be received at least 3 days before the meeting. Letters should be addressed to the Supervisor of the Wyoming Oil and Gas Commission, 2211 King Boulevard, Casper, Wyoming 82604.
