2024 marks the 40th year of the annual Delta Kappa Gamma Used Book Sale! They have thousands of books, DVDs, puzzles, audio books, games, etc! It is being held in the former Big Lots in Cheyenne Plaza, 3741 East Lincolnway, next to Sportsman’s Warehouse. The first weekend is March 2-3, Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 9:00am4:00pm. In general, adult hardbacks are $2 and paperbacks $1. Children’s hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks 2 for $1. Some special volumes and sets are priced separately. Unusual, old and valuable donations will be sold through a continuous silent auction through Saturday, March 9. The $10 box sale is all day March 9-10, Saturday 8:00am5:00pm and Sunday 9:00am-2:00pm. Buy a $10 box at the door and fill it! Books that do not sell will be donated to organizations that can send a representative sometime between March 4 and 8 to make selections. Chicken Curling Tournament
Back for its ninth year, Cheyenne Ice and Events Center’s Chicken Curling Tournament is set for 2024, and registration is now open for the event. Chicken curling is exactly what it sounds like — the sport of curling, but with donated, expired frozen chickens instead of stones. Teams of four compete to win the contest in a double elimination format, and spectators are encouraged to attend. The 2024 Chicken Curling Tournament will be held at the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center, 1530 West Lincolnway on Saturday, March 23 at noon. Registration is open until Wednesday, March 20. Teams must have four members, all over 18 years old, and are encouraged to come up with a witty name and may wear costumes to the event. Teams should contact Bailey Miller at bmiller@ cheyennecity.org to register and for information.

Submissions Sought for Zonta Club Art Contest
Zonta Club of Cheyenne is seeking entries from artists of all ages and style and experience for its 9th Annual Art Contest. This year’s theme is Art Against Abuse. Artists are asked to convey their unique vision of how to promote positive change given the multifaceted impact of domestic violence and human trafficking on victims, their families and our community. Submissions must be dropped off at the RE/MAX office at 4000 Central Avenue in Cheyenne no later than 4:00pm on April 1. Include your name, contact information, age category and price, if for sale, with each submission. A brief interpretive commentary on the art is also welcomed but not required. A reception for the artists, their families and the general public will be held on April 15 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Cheyenne Civic Center. Registration Open for Girls’ Fast Pitch Softball
Teamwork, fundamentals and friendly competition are on deck for the Girls’ Recreational Fast Pitch Softball program this summer, and registration is now open.
