Old wounds healed quick when it came to supporting a cause bigger than the crosstown rivalry between the South Bison and the East Thunderbirds. Each year the South and East cheer teams join efforts to raise funds for a local initiative or group that involves children, this year money went to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s (CRMC) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). All-state cheerleader, Samantha Edwards, 11, explained the process of coming together and how exactly they gathered funds, “We just perform together during the half time break at a designated basketball meet between East and South.
