The Youth Lacrosse Program will begin on Thursday, April 23, with registration closing on Thursday, March 12. Registration fees are $30 per child and $25 for each additional child. This is meant to be an introduction program to the sport of lacrosse, so there will not be any games. Instead, there will be a practice once a week for six weeks, to get children familiar with the sport. For girls softball, practice begins Monday, April 6, and games will begin on Monday, May 11. Registration fees are $55 for girls age 7 - 10 and $65 for girls age 11-18 years old. Registration will close on Thursday, March 19. Fees offer a 10-game schedule, played on weekdays at the Converse Softball Complex with tournament on the last weekend of the season. St. Joseph’s Food Pantry for Eligible Seniors Friday, March 20, St. Joseph’s food pantry, 206 Van Lennon, will distribute Seniors’ monthly food boxes to eligible seniors from 11:00am to 1:00pm. These monthly nutritional boxes will be distributed every 3rd Friday of the month. They are also eligible to receive groceries once a week from the pantry. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a USDA program designed to improve the health of low-income people at least 60 years of age, by supplementing their diets with nutritious foods. If you are a low-income senior 60 or older, or know someone 60 or older, who needs food assistance, you can get an application at the Food Pantry. My personal goal is to be able to take a team to the College National Finals Rodeo.� A LCCC team to compete in the col lege national finals rodeo would be the first in 20 years. Team members should be in the top three in

points individually and a team should be in the top two in points combined over the ten rodeos. Glause has come close before. “Last year the men’s team was fifth and the women’s team was tenth.� Glause said. The rodeo team begins their season in Gillette on March 20. They then travel to Eastern Wyoming College on March 27.

ADAGIO

Music is played in a variety of TEMPOS (or TEMPI). To alert the musicians to a TEMPO change, a marking is placed on their sheet music. Most TEMPO markings have Italian names. ADAGIO is an order to go “very slowly with great expression.� ADAGIOS are not the slowest TEMPI, however. The slowest tempo is GRAVE. That speeds up to LENTO, and then LARGO. Next is LARGHETTO. Finally comes ADAGIO. ANDANTE is slightly faster than ADAGIO. Next is MODERATO. ALLEGRO is “fast, quick and bright.� VIVACE is “lively and fast’ and PRESTO is very, very fast. 7th Annual Chicken Curling Tournament The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center, 1530 West Lincolnway, will host the 7th Annual Chicken Curling Tournament on Saturday, March 21, at 2:00pm. Registration is $60 prior to the Friday, March 20, deadline. Day of registration increases to $75. Teams of up to four will compete in a doubleelimination format for chicken curling glory. Using the donated and expired frozen chickens, teams will test their accuracy over several rounds within the match to see who comes out with the most points. The team with the most points at the end of the round will advance to their next match up. The tournament will feature music, beverages provided by the Plains Hotel and more.
