The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation has announced that it will be adding a half marathon to its fourth annual Great Bison Shufe trail run and fundraiser. The 2020 Shufe is set to take place at Terry Bison Ranch on Saturday, September 12. In addition to the inaugural half marathon, the 2020 Shufe will feature a 1k kids run, 2k walk, 5k walk/run and 10k run. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s continues, but instead of hosting a large gathering, the Alzheimer’s Association is encouraging participants to walk as individuals or in small groups on sidewalks, tracks and trails across southeast Wyoming. To enhance the participant experience leading up to the event and on Walk day, new features are being added to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s mobile app to create an opportunity for the community to connect. Participants can use the app and new “Walk Mainstageâ€? to track their steps and distance. A new audio track is available to encourage participants along the way and to congratulate them upon completion of their Walk. Men’s and Women’s Fall Volleyball and Pickleball The City of Cheyenne’s Recreation Division is now accepting team registrations for its 2020 men’s and women’s fall volleyball leagues, as well as its pickleball 101 class. The fall volleyball leagues will begin on September 21 with registration closing on August 20. Cost includes a team fee of $300 and a player fee of $20 per player. The City’s co-rec league will begin in January 2021. Pickleball 101 will begin on August 18 with sessions held every Tuesday and Thursday morning, 9:00am-11:00am. The program will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park pickleball courts. Registration is $50 per person, and the class will be capped at 12 people. This is an introduction to the sport of pickleball and is meant for players with a novice skill level.
