At East High School, there are so many different activities that students can choose to participate in. Extracurricular activities at EHS allow students to discover new opportunities and express themselves. Clubs, sports and organizations are all very important to East’s student community and the culture of the school. Track and field season consists of meets where students compete in running, distance, and throwing events.

Anna Anderson, 10 was asked about her favorite extracurricular activity. “My favorite extracurricular activity at EHS is track because I like to run and it is good conditioning for other sports,” she said. Anna began running track during her seventh-grade year at Carey Jr High and has continued to do so ever since. “Running track makes me feel more involved and connected to East. There is a large community of people in-

volved in track, who work hard and are supportive to the other athletes.” said Anderson. Like many other sports at East, track allows students to con nect with each other. The nature of track allows students to interact with a great variety of athletes with varying athletic abilities.

As this year’s track season approaches, Anna is ready to represent East and put in the extra ef fort necessary for a successful year. At each meet, it is clear that students will be giving their all to get that personal record, beating their best time or distance in order to make our program com petitive. Track is just one of the many extracur ricular activities here at East High School. Being involved is one of the best ways to show your school spirit, connect with your peers and become more involved in the school community.

Water Tank Mural Project Announces Call for Artists

The Cheyenne Water Tank Mural Project review committee has released its call for artists for a project that would see murals painted on two water tanks in north Cheyenne. Interested artists would be expected to complete the project in 2025, with a dedication in 2026 for Cheyenne’s America 250 celebration. Artists must be Wyoming residents and can respond to the request for proposals online through Arts Cheyenne at artschey enne.com/water-tank-mural-project. Information concerning materials, mural subjects and review/ selection criteria are also available at that website.
