This was South’s first year at tending the Wyoming High School Student Press As sociation (WHSSPA) at the University of Wyoming. WHSSPA is a convention for Yearbook, Newspaper, and Broadcasting for Wyo ming schools where students learn how to be more successful in press media and compete to win awards for their achievements. South Yearbook won their first “People’s Choice Award” for their

2021-22 yearbook titled “Resilient.” The award was determined by other Wyo ming schools’ votes on what yearbook they thought was most appealing. “It was exciting winning the award for a book we all worked so hard on because it was a lot of hard work especially when people struggled to complete parts and others supported and picked up the slack,” shared MacKen zie Hamil ton (11).

Youth Alternatives Foster Grandparent Program

School Year 2022-2023 has begun and vol unteers are needed to make a difference for the students. The Office of Youth Alternatives Foster Grandparent Program is looking for tutor/mentors that are 55 years and older to work with children in a classroom setting that need extra support.
