Christmas Treats will be made at the Wyoming State Museum’s December Family Day. Participants will learn to read and follow a recipe, measure ingredients and make their own Christmas treats. Children will also create a Christmas cookbook, which they can take home and add some of their favorite recipes to. TABOOLEY

TABOOLEY is a vegetable salad made in the Middle East. It is made of parsley, tomatoes, mint, onion and BULGUR (a type of oat). It is spelled in a variety of ways, TABOULEH, TABOULI, and TABULI. It can also be spelled with two Bs, TABBOULEH. TABOOLEY is considered a MEZE, an appetizer, in the Middle East. It is pluralized TABOOLEYS. All its other spellings can be pluralized with an S on the end as well. Other appetizers that form part of MEZE are HUMMUS, a dip made from chickpeas, and FALAFEL, made from chickpeas also.
