The annual Christmas Parade and Chili Feed in Hillsdale will take place on Saturday, December 16. The parade starts at 5:00pm at the Hillsdale Volunteer Fire Department. The Chili Feed follows immediately at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall located at 4325 Hills Street in Hillsdale. There is no charge for the Chili Feed but they gladly accept donations. All donations are used to support the Hillsdale Ladies Group Scholarship fund and to help neighbors in need in the Hillsdale area. “No Veteran Dies Alone” Volunteer Training

The Cheyenne VA “No Veteran Dies Alone” Program utilizes volunteers to honor veterans and to meet the emotional needs of those who would otherwise be alone at the end of life. This volunteer support is especially important for the rural patient population, whose families may be at a distance and unable to visit regularly, if at all. Emotionally mature volunteers from all walks of life are needed for a variety of positions including program coordination, clerical support, patient and family support. Some volunteers will have a unique opportunity to be available on-call during the death and dying process. The camaraderie and support of volunteers who are also veterans is especially welcome. Volunteers must complete 20 hours of specialized training, available Tuesdays, 1:00pm-5:00pm, January 2-30, 2024. Volunteers must attend or make-up every session. All training will be held in the Cheyenne VA Auditorium, 2360 East Pershing Boulevard. CHPB 2023 Christmas Ornament

The Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board, CHPB, is proud to announce the release of the 2023 Christmas ornament featuring the dome of the Wyoming State Capitol. This ornament is the fifth in a series of ornaments featuring historic structures in Cheyenne. Sales of the ornaments help fund historic preservation efforts in the city. The gold leaf dome of the Capitol is a Wyoming icon. Attached to each ornament is an actual flake of the gold leaf that at one time graced the Capitol dome. Each of the ornaments is individually numbered and can be delivered in quantities of four or more by calling 307-851-1911. Supplies are limited.
