WEEK 9 READING: PERSPECTIVE AS SYMBOLIC FORM

Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? First the perpendiculars meet at one point which is called vanishing point, and it is the point decide perpendicular drawn from the eye to the picture plane, second, all the parallels have a vanishing point, finally the equal dimensions progressively as a recede in space, so if the object in the vision, it can be present in the perspective view drawing precisely.

Question 2: Describe homogenous space?

This is a kind of “central perspective” It mainly follows two rules, the first is the viewing b y an immobile eye, and the second is planar cross section of the visual pyramid can pass for an adequate reproduction of optical impression, and it is a purely mathematical space.

QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 Perspective 1 From this perspective view, it can be shown that, the Marco just reached this city and this view show how he is curious about this city, so he sit behind a column for the reason of scaring about the situation in front of him.

Perspective 2 After the walk in the perspective 1, Marco come to another part of the city, and with the scary experience in the beginning, he sit a little bit far from the column, and he wanted to see how this part of the city like first and then decide weather to wether to continue walking.

PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2

Perspective 1 Because it has been mentioned that the city was built for the purpose of desire, so i use the dragon in Hobbit to show the desire of money, and dragon is the symbol of this, from the other side the roles inside are also from the Hobbits and the lord of ring, the famous character gulu, who is the representation of desire, and there are many treasures in this scene, the representation of gulu and Hobbits is used to show how the mind is changed by the desire, the confetti shows a feeling of evil party.

Perspective 2 With the description of the first perspective, it is said that the city has possibility to develop as a city which is pure, so as the core concept of no desire, the angels are made into this view, and there are some tool are mentioned in the story, like the fish poles, and cranes, barrels storing water, these kind of thins will create a harmony environment and give a feeling of life, the background is sky to make this view looks more ideal.

WEEK 10 READING: MAPPING THE UNMAPPABLE

Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice?

The autographic arts like painting and sculpture, and it depends on the direct contact with the author, but allographic is the art style which exists in many copies and can be produced without the direct intervention of the author.

Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? Because in modern world, the technology is developing in a high speed, and the techniques is also updating, to learn new representation skills can help the modern architects work more efficiently, and effect the whole architecture area working in an affirmative way.

arrow show the low speed ,and the thinner arrow show the high speed, and the space between also show the length of the pace. In beginning the Marco just reach the city, so curious about it, and walk very fast and when he reach the point of the first perspective, he was shocked, because this part of city is full of appetite, the dragon in Hobbit is to show the appetite of money, the character gulu in lord of ring and Hobbits, who is the representation of appetite, and there are many treasures in this scene and with the representation of gulu and Hobbits, it aimed to show how the mind was changed by the desires ,the confetti shows a feeling of devil party. Then Marco move to the location of the second perspective,in the story said that “those that through the years and the changes continue to give their fOrm to desires, and those in which desires either erase the city or are erased by it. This means that the city might change into two kinds of style , the fist is what is mention in the first perspective view which is full of desires, and the other one is pure city, which I tried to show, the angels and the tools like fish poles, and cranes, barrels storing water, they all give a feeling of harmony and show a concept of life, which is ideal for living. And here is my concept of this story, the sentence “those that through the years and the changes continue to give their fOrm to desires, and those in which desires either erase the city or are erased by it means that this city has not changed still

full of desires, and another is it has develop to a city without desires or full of desires, and from my view the what city used

to be and the city full of desires can be classified as one group, so this is the concept of these two perspective views.
