Kenyans defy Kambi’s Mid-East jobs warning A group of Kenyans have vowed to ignore a Government warning and continue trooping to the Middle East in search for jobs. Harrowing tales of oppression and torture from those returning from similar escapades do not seem to break the spirit of some of the employment seekers. Valarie Kibosu, 26, and single mother of two is due to travel to Qatar next month to start working as a domestic worker. Rival MPs seek Hague visas to escort Uhuru for ICC suit
In a rare show of solidarity, several dignitaries trooped to The Netherlands Embassy in Nairobi seeking visas to accompany President Uhuru Kenyatta to the International Criminal Court next week. The applicants included MPs from Cord and Jubilee parties as well as Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu. All visitors to the Embassy said they will stand with President Kenyatta in the Status Conference to be held on October 8 as friends and representatives of their constituents. Cord-allied MP Victor Munyaka
of Machakos Town said Kenyatta is the President of all Kenyans, and they had decided to escort him irrespective of political affiliation. Ngilu said this is the moment when the President needed genuine friends. She said Kenyatta will go to The Hague to show he respects the rule of law. Like other politicians who addresses news reporters after the application, Kega exuded confidence that Kenyatta will be exonerated from the crimes he is accused of because ICC does into have witnesses or evidence.
