MPs may lose seats over House mayhem

A number of MPs who were involved in the fracas that marred yesterday’s sessions in Parliament risk losing their seats after the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) said it will investigate their conduct. Chairman Mumo Matemo said they will investigate and

initiate proceedings to remove from office lawmakers found to have behaved unethically. Matemu said the conduct of the legislators was unethical and went against the tenets of leadership and integrity as outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution. P2

MPs may lose seats over mayhem

From Page 1 He said EACC will examine each case on individual basis and institute the process of removing from office any MP found culpable. “Our concern is about the requirement of Chapter Six and the Leadership and Integrity Act regarding the conduct of State officers and legislators are State officers. We will look into the personal conduct of each of the persons involved and deal with those cases which go beyond legislation and which go into the breach of the provisions of Chapter

Six and the Leadership and Integrity Act,” Matemu said. Parliament was thrown into ugly scenes of wrestling, fist-fights and violent outbursts as lawmakers from both sides of the House assaulted each other during debate on the Security Amendment Bill 2014. The Bill seeks to contain runaway insecurity but rowdy MPs differed and fought over its provisions. Members of the opposition faulted their colleagues on the Government side for forcing through a legislation they claimed would limit democratic space.

If EACC makes good its threat, several MPs stand to lose seats on grounds of misconduct. “We will take appropriate action which will include initiating the process of removal from office of any State officer who from his conduct indeed ought to face such action,” Matemu said. The official said a similar trend of unethical conduct has been noted in a number of county assemblies where investigation are ongoing. Meanwhile, Speaker Justin Muturi could crack the whip on those deemed to have misbehaved

during the violent sessions in which the House passed the security legislation and approved nomination of Joseph Nkaissery’s as the new Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government. They also agreed to drop contentious clauses that would have given Interior CS powers to decide where and how demonstrations can take place. They also deleted a clause that proposed to allow National Intelligence Service officers to tap into phone conversations and intercept communication without a

court order. But a clause requiring that police approve publication or broadcasting of any information relating to investigations on terrorism and that of photographs of terror victims which had also raised opposition was spared. Proponents of the Bill argue that it will close gaps that have provided loopholes exploited by terrorist sympathisers. The Bill was due to be signed into law by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday.

Kibera residents receive President’s Christmas goodies Kibera slum residents today burst out in joy after receiving President Uhuru Kenyatta’s bulls and other goodies ahead of this year’s Christmas celebrations. Groups of youth from villages in the slum drove away 15 bulls they received from the Ministry of Devolution through Principal Secretary Peter Mang’iti. The youth, who are part of the National Youth Service slum upgrade team, also received several bundles of maize flour, cooking fat and other goodies. The President’s presents will be shared among residents of the slum ahead of next the Christmas celebrations next week. The President recently launched a street lighting project and pledged a Christmas treat to residents.

PROMISE DELIVERED: Youth from Kibera receive the bulls promised by President Uhuru Kenyatta for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

VOX POP Based on MPs’ conduct in Parliament yesterday, do you think Kenya has leaders? Rodgers Oponyo It was shameful; they let us down. The Speaker should have been more neutral in handling the matter. Yes and no. We have few good leaders but majority are self-centered.

Yvonne Adhiambo We have leaders but they let us down tremendously. We look up to them to guide us but yesterday’s brawl was in bad taste.

Emmanuel Rumpe Our parliamentarians let us down yesterday. They behaved in a childish and backward manner. They should have solved issues amicably despite their differences. In my view, Kenya has a few good leaders, we can’t stereotype all of them as bad.

Building death toll hits seven The death toll in the Makongeni building collapse has now risen to seven after one of those admitted to the Kenyatta National Hospital succumbed to his injuries. Only one person was confirmed dead on Wednesday when the tragedy occurred but five other bodies were pulled out of the rubble on Thursday to push the figure to six. More sad news were to follow with another victim succumbing to his injuries. Of the five bodies pulled out, three were male and two female. Three of the victims were pulled out in the wee hours of the morning while the other two were retrieved later in the afternoon. “We pulled one lady out at 0100 hours and two gentlemen at 5.40am,” Kenya Red Cross Nairobi County Manager Michael Aiyabei said. Only one person now remains admitted in hospital after eight of the ten taken in were treated and discharged. At least 12 of 27 people reported missing still remain unaccounted

for. Hopes of relatives whose kin remain missing are now diminishing amid frantic efforts to rescue more survivors. The KDF led the search and retrieval operation on Thursday with the National Youth Service offering support. Despite an earlier estimation that the exercise would be concluded by 2pm on Thursday, Lieutenant Colonel Joel Cherutich said progress was slow because the ground was not stable enough for their heavy equipment as the area had been a swamp. He said they also wanted to retrieve the bodies in the best possible conditions. Meanwhile Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has ordered a public probe into the incident to establish the approval processes of the building. “The probe report will make appropriate recommendations on the measures to be taken, including criminal proceedings, on the past and present officers responsible for the collapsed RELENTLESS SEARCH: National Youth Service members search through the rubbles of the fallen building in Makongeni. The death toll has risen to seven. structure,” Kidero said.

Nkaissery appeals for unity in tackling insecurity Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretarydesignate Joseph Nkaiserry has appealed for unity among legislators in tackling insecurity. He said this as he spent his last day in the Eleventh Parliament in readiness to take up his seat in the Cabinet. Nkaiserry promised to deal decisively with insecurity after his nomination was approved by the National Assembly amid acrimonious debate on the Security Laws (Amendment) Bill 2014. “As our nation tries to grapple with many threats such as the Al Shabaab and cattle rustling, it is important for this August House to bear in mind that there cannot be easier solutions to this problem; there cannot be quick fixes. However the August House has the capacity to bring

legislation like what they brought that will give security organs clear mandate in dealing with these crimes.” “As I relinquish my cherished position as the Kajiado Central MP, I want to urge you Honourable Members to support me and be patriotic in defending our motherland. I want to believe that we can solve this insecurity problem together, this I ask of you today,” he told a news conference in the company of Jubilee Coalition MPs Moses ole Sakuda, Kimani Ichung’wah, and Kanini Keega among others. He said dealing with corruption in government will be one his key priorities as well as increasing funding for the security agencies such as the NIS and other departments under the National Police Service.

Thugs carjack city bound bus in morning incident A bus belonging to Double M Company was carjacked this morning on its way to the city center from Umoja estate. The incident took place near City Stadium along Jogoo Road at about 5am. Confirming the incident, Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue said that three passengers turned out to be gangsters and ordered the driver to divert the bus. They then commandeered the vehicle and drove back towards Mutarakwa area in Buruburu. “This was an early morning attack and the driver was ordered to divert the bus,” he said. One passenger was injured

after he attempted to confront the attackers. “He has since been taken to Mama Lucy hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition,” the police boss said. The thugs later fled when they saw a police vehicle, abandoning the bus at Civil Servants stage in Buruburu. Mr Kibue advised matatu operators to be conducting security checks to all passengers to avoid such incidences. “We have been calling on these operators to take it as their responsibility to conduct security checks on their passengers,” he said.

Judge stops Equity Bank thin SIM card technology rollout The High Court has halted a move by the Communications Authority of Kenya to allow Finserve Africa Ltd, a subsidiary of Equity Bank, to roll out its thin SIM technology (pictured). The order followed an application by Kituo cha Sheria. Justice George Odunga temporarily blocked the process after the Legal Advice Centre claimed primary SIM cards belonging to millions of phone customers’ risk being compromised.

Kituo cha Sheria accused CAK of allowing the rollout without considering the security of data to subscriber’s Personal Identification Number (PIN). The NGO claimed the move is against the Kenya Information and Communication Act and Consumer Protection Regulation 2010. “The Communication Authority hurriedly authorised the use of thin SIM technology in spite of legitimate concerns ons security of data on the

primary SIM that shall be overlaid by the thin SIM,” argued Kituo Cha Sheria. Last Month, Equity Bank Chief Executive Officer James Mwangi said the bank was expected to receive about five million thin SIMs in coming few weeks before the official launch of the technology. The bank has distributed 200,000 normal SIM cards for customers with dual SIM handsets has been selling phones to customers who do not have the gadgets.

Obama move lifts ban on Cuban cigars in US For the first time in more than 50 years, Cuban cigars are about to become legal again in US. This follows a move by President Obama to loosen trade and diplomatic ties with Havana. In an announcement made earlier this week, Obama said the move marks the end of an era that forced cigar enthusiasts to huff smoking sticks in secret or otherwise face prosecution. History In 1962, former President John F Kennedy made Cuban cigars illegal in US as part of a broad embargo on Cuban products. The move came before Kennedy ordered for 1,000 of the cigars for his use. The restrictions were a response to the Cuban alignment with Soviet Union during the Cold War. Under the limitations, Cuban assets in US were frozen.

The 1963 US embargo was reinforced in October 1992 by Cuban Democracy Act and in 1996 by the Cuban Liberty and Democracy Solidarity Act. The two laws penalise foreign companies that do business in Cuba by preventing them from doing business in the US. At the time, only a few Americans were authorised to travel to Cuba and not many could bring back $100 worth of cigars. Implications In light of Obama’s new decree, the lift on the ban includes a provision that lets Americans to bring back $400 worth of Cuban goods from the country, $100 of which can be tobacco and alcohol. “That can include cigars,” a senior administration official told a group of reporters on Wednesday. Those carrying the goods are not allowed to sell them on return to US.

Kericho farmers to double earnings under new EU export deal A deal between Kericho farmers and a UK based company aims to boost earnings of planters in the region. Through the direct export of agricultural products to the European Union and a technology that increases the shelf life of the produce, local farmers stand to make a fortune. Sahara Communities Abroad (Sacoma), the company in question, will buy pumpkins, coffee, sweet potatoes, bananas and sorghum from Kericho small-scale farmers. Sacoma CEO, Perez Ochieng says that there is a huge market in Europe as demand for sweet potatoes reaches 120 tonnes every week and Sacoma only manages to buy five to 10 tonnes from sub-Saharan Africa. “We realised that people from Africa have the ability to feed Europe and so we set up a market that will buy primarily from small holder farmers,” she said, noting that Kenyan farmers have a better chance in the EU market since their food is organic. Their brand of produce is therefore more popular when compared to the crops of other international farmers who grow GMOs. Under the new deal, Sacoma will pay Sh35 per kilogramme of sweet potatoes,

compared to Sh15 in the local markets. The county governor, Paul Chepkwony assured Ms Ochieng’ that although the volumes required by Sacoma seemed huge, farmers are determined to supply whatever quantity was required. Already Sh800,000 has been donated to

kickstart the construction of a sweet potato packaging factory. Prof Chepkwony said the products exported to the European Union will be labelled ‘Produce of Kericho County.’ He has urged local farmers to produce quality food to meet EU export standards

World Bank approves Sh18 billion loan to boost clean water access The World Bank earlier this week, approved a US$200 million (Sh18.1 billion) loan to the Government of Kenya that will increase access to clean water supply, sanitation and income generating activities through sustainable agriculture practices in Kwale County. The money will be used to finance the running of a multipurpose project dubbed, Mwache Dam. The Bank’s Group’s Board of Executive Directors said the financing will support

the Kenya Coastal Region Water Security and Climate Resilience project, an operation that aims to enhance water security and climate resilience in the country. Kenya’s coastal region, which is home to 3.3 million people, suffers from drought and lack of rainfall during parts of the year and faces flooding in the rainy season. Meanwhile, local communities, which depend heavily on limited water resources for incomes, agriculture, tourism and electricity.

“The availability of clean water is crucial for millions of Kenyans fighting to raise themselves out of poverty,” said Ms Diarietou Gaye, the World Bank Country Director for Kenya, following the announcement. The project will also support development in Kwale County, where the future Mwache Dam will be located, through investments in water supply, sanitation, irrigation and sustainable livelihood practices for the largely rural communities in the area.

businesswise Men-run businesses in Nairobi are 13 pc more likely to fail In Kenya, men are more likely than women to see their businesses fail. While it is not a guarantee that a man’s venture will always fall before that of his female counterpart, a number of experts and scholars at Daystar University have found that men are 13 per cent more likely to face tougher times. Samuel Mureithi, among other experts representing the KCA Journal of Business Management, have found that while 50 per cent of female-owned businesses say that are not doing as well as they were before, about 63 per cent of male-owned business owners feel the same. The businesses surveyed included General Traders, Wholesalers, Retailers, Stores, Shops, Personal Services, Hawkers,

those dealing in Transport, Storage and Communications as well as others in Agriculture, Accommodation and Catering. Those that were successful, however, planned ahead by joining savings groups and Saccos, while making long term goals to sustain their enterprises. It was discovered that 18 per cent of those who are members of professional associations belonged to the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), 14 per cent belong to the Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT) and 11 per cent belong to the Nairobi Central Business District Association (NCBDA) while 7 per cent belong to Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) among others.

What made it more interesting was, Beyoncé stood calmly by the side as her husband was being plummeted by the sister. The incident was captured by a CCTV camera in the elevator and leaked by a hotel employee who later got fired.

The video spread like wildfire over the internet and memes popped up everywhere. Nothing much is known of what started the fight but it has been rumoured that Jay Z was getting too cosy with Rachel Roy a fashion designer and that did not go well with Solange. But it seems the pair patched things up as Jay Z turned up together with his wife and daughter at Solange’s recent wedding.

Be generous with your affection, but make sure you receive emotional support in return.

Security Bill can still be amended in a sobre environment All is not lost even after the passage of the Security Bill 2014 by Parliament. It may have sailed through without consensus between the Government and the opposition after chaos erupted and disrupted debate (Violence mars MPs’

Security Bill Debate December 18, 2014). The Government should make policies as the opposition plays the oversight role. Dissenting voices must be based on real issues, especially because enhanced security will ultimately benefit all

Kenyans. Although the President is likely to sign the Bill into law, the Constitution has given courts an alternative route for arbitration. The opposition can challenge the new law with substantial aggregation of the contentious

issues they want addressed. They should not, however, agitate for the total rejection of the law given that the country’s security is under threat. Similarly, if President Kenyatta signs the Bill, there is a six-month window that gives room for amendment of clauses deemed

to be offensive. But this will only happen if aggrieved parties harmonise and channel their concerns in a legal and sober manner. No government would not want to listen to dissenting views if they are properly aired.

ENJOYING HIS STAY Loanee Falcao says he wants to stay at Manchester United P.15

Mwamba, Harlequins clash under floodlights

Fourth placed Mwamba host sixth placed Kenya Harlequins in a day six fixture under floodlights at Impala Club this evening. Mwamba have a blinder of a season. Their form has seen them stay in touch with a leading trio of Pan Africa Strathmore Leos, Top Fry Nakuru and KCB. They have won four and lost just one of their five previous outings to collect a total of 20 points. A win on Friday evening could see them rise to second before other fixtures take

place a day later. Collins Injera has shown great leadership for Mwamba in the back row and may lead the charges. He is expected to combine with Nick Ongeri, Shaban Ahmed and Brad Owako as they seek to end the calendar on a high. Kenya Harlequins started the season with two consecutive bonus points that had them safely tucked in the leading quartet. Brian Wandera and Brian Okwomi stood out last weekend. However,

Lyle Asiligwa and Kevin Keegan were sedate as Allan Luvanda impressed on his debut. Depending on selection and availability, the players will be key for Quins. On Saturday Nondies play Leos in an opening clash of a double header set for the Impala Club. Nondies come into the clash looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 18-14 fall to Harlequins. They were timid in the first half against Quins but glowed in the second half. They will need to put in an 80-minute

performance against Leos, stay competitive through the encounter as they seek to end the league leaders unbeaten run. Key players for the Red Lion will include Joseph Wachira, Ben Nyambu, James Kang’ethe and Charles Kanyi. Strathmore are firmly perched atop the standings and are in imperious form. With Kenny Andola, Cyprian Kuto, George Ndemi and Brian Nyikuli in their ranks, the Leos will fancy their chances on Saturday.

FKF, Nakumatt in sponsorship deal talks

Football Kenya Federation and private company Nakumatt are in talks over the possibility of the stores chain becoming the official Kenyan Premier League sponsor. East African Breweries Limited though the Tusker brand have been the league’s official sponsor in a Sh168 million, three-year deal signed in 2012. The deal is set to lapse soon and FKF is understood to be in talks with the company that runs a chain of top-end supermarket shops in the region. The move comes even after Nakumatt FC earned promotion to the top flight league. This may grant the company prospects of maximising on the marketing benefits their brand will gain should the retailer win the sponsor’s deal. It is also understood that FKF has been in touch with Azam TV and other pay television service providers as possible broadcast partners. KPL and FKF have been locked in a bitter war of words over the expansion of the league. The federation has been rooting for an 18-team league as KPL advocates for 16. FKF Chairman Sam Nyamweya has

confirmed that Fifa officials are in the country. The Federation is expected to make major announcements on the way forward for the elite Kenyan league.

NAKUMATT’S TURN? Football Kenya Federation and Nakumatt Limited are in talks over the possibility of the company becoming the official KPL sponsors. East Africa Breweries Limited’s Tusker brand has been the league sponsors since 2012.

Wenger tips Henry for Arsenal boss role

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Thierry Henry has some essential characteristics needed for a manager. Henry, 37, ended his 20-year playing career this week and said managing Arsenal “would be a dream come true”. Wenger, who signed Henry in 1999, said: “He will end up at Arsenal one day. Coach? Manager? Director? I don’t know. “He always showed an incredible insight in his judgement of players. He has a real ability to unearth talent.” Henry plans to combine media work with gaining his coaching badges. “To pass your badges, you have to work closely with a club and I would like to think it is going to be Arsenal,” he said. There is already a bronze statue of the Frenchman, who returned for a short loan spell from New York in January 2012, outside the Emirates Stadium in recognition of his 228 goals for the club, an Arsenal record. Asked about Henry’s character, Wenger said: “Thierry is blessed with a strong personality and he could get angry, but once he had re-found his calm, he was always very clearheaded.

Newcastle hunt for emergency stopper

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will speak to the Premier League about the possibility of signing a goalkeeper on emergency loan ahead of Sunday’s derby against Sunderland. Third-choice keeper Jak Alnwick, 21, injured his shoulder at Tottenham as Freddie Woodman, 17, sat on the bench. Regular number one Tim Krul and his deputy Rob Elliot are already injured. “There is no way a 17-yearold should be allowed to go in goal at Premier League level,” said Pardew. Newcastle have conceded eight goals in their last two

matches after losing 4-0 at Spurs in their League Cup quarter-final on Wednesday. They plan to sign another keeper even after the transfer window closed until New Year’s Day. lnwick, making only his third senior appearance, played the full 90 minutes at White Hart Lane but Pardew fears he could miss Sunderland’s visit to St James’ Park. He was culpable for the first Spurs goal, after failing to catch a corner which allowed Nabil Bentaleb to steer in the opener. “He has an injury to his shoulder so we’re going to have to see,” added Pardew

on his chances of facing Sunderland. “We will perhaps talk to the Premier League about Jak’s situation.” Netherlands goalkeeper Krul, 26, is out with an ankle injury suffered in training at the start of December. Elliot, 28, tore a thigh muscle during last weekend’s 2-1 win against Chelsea. Newcastle own Nottingham Forest keeper Karl Darlow who they signed in the summer before loaning him back to the Championship club for the entire season. It is understood that they cannot recall the 24-year-old.

800m among possible first track events in Rio 2016 Olympics Olympic champion David Rudisha could be among Kenya’s first runners to compete at the Maracana stadium on August 12, at the Rio 2016 Olympics games in Brazil. The international Association of Athletics Federations, IAAF released the track and field timetable early this week for the Olympics and dismissed reports that some events could be culled as per the recently

passed Olympic agenda 2020 in Monaco. The International Olympics Committee, IOC, agreed to reduce the number of participants of the games to 10 000 athletes, a proposal that could lead to some of the disciplines reducing their events. Athletics has 26 events in the Olympic programme and according to press reports

there was a likelihood that 10 000 m races which are widely dominated by the East African runners could be among those events that could cut if from the programme. Shotput, Triple jump, 200m and one of the race-walk events are also reportedly targeted, speculation that the world athletics body terms ‘unfounded’.

Falcao wants to stay at United

EL TIGRE: Radamel Falcao celebrating his first goal for Manchester United against Everton. The Colombia striker, 28, has scored one goal in eight appearances since signing for the season from Monaco and says he would like to stick around at Old Trafford in a permanent deal.

PIECE OF CAKE: David Rudisha sets new world record with men’s 800m Olympic gold during the 2012 London Olympics. He could be among Kenya’s first runners to compete at the Maracana Stadium on August 12, at the Rio 2016 Olympics games in Brazil after the IAAF released the track and field timetable early this week.

Loanee striker Radamel Falcao “wants to stay” at Manchester United but says his long-term future depends partly on how often he plays for the club. The Colombia striker, 28, has scored one goal in eight appearances since signing for the season from Monaco. Earlier this month United boss Louis van Gaal said Falcao was only fit enough to play for 20 minutes, but Falcao says he is now “almost 100%”. “I am very happy in this city, in this club. I really want to stay,” he said. United have an option to sign Falcao, who is earning approximately shs31.8million -a-week in Manchester, for shs5.22billion at the end of the season. But the striker, who missed the World Cup due to knee ligament damage, has had limited impact during his shs720million loan deal so far, due partly to injury. Falcao said: “I’d like to carry on [here] but I have to analyse the situation, see if I play more and see what decision the board takes. “Every footballer wants to play, no one is happy when they are not playing. I feel ready for the moment that the team needs me. “I am not playing many minutes at the moment but I am sure there will be more opportunities to play.”

Gor determined to keep Owino Current Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia are luring want-away David ‘Calabar’ Owino a new two-year contract in pursuit to keep the two-time KPL defender of the year at the club. This comes after his much hyped move to Tanzania’s league giants Simba SC failed to materialise as the country’s transfer window closed on Monday. Club’s Deputy Secretary Ronald Ngala said the club are in touch with the player as they hope that a

deal will be brokered soon. “We have offered him a two year contract extension and we hope he can remain with us because of the tight schedule we have next year,” Ngala explained about the highly sought defender. “It has been a bit difficult for us landing our transfer targets because of the tough financial status we are in at the moment. However, we might be able to conclude one or more transfers by the end of the week,” said a concerned Ngala. TO STAY: Gor are determined to keep David “Calabar” Owino (pictured) with the club.

FA suspends and fines Balotelli over racist social media post Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has been given a one-match ban by the Football Association as punishment for his Super Mario post on social media. The Italian, whose suspension rules him out of Sunday’s home game against Arsenal, has also been fined Sh3 million and must attend an education course. The 24-year-old was charged under FA rule E3(1) for a post which appeared to contain anti-Semitic and racist references. Balotelli had accepted the charge but wrote to the FA in mitigation. After learning of his punishment, he wrote on his official Facebook page that the FA’s decision “made clear” that his post had been “wrong”. He added: “I am sorry that my team-mates and supporters of Liverpool FC have to be penalised for something I did and now come to regret. It is my intention to comply with the decision of the FA and make sure it never happens

again.” A Liverpool spokesman said: “The club acknowledges the decision reached by the FA independent panel and due consideration will be given to the written judgement once we receive it from the FA. “Any further action taken by ourselves in relation to this matter is between the club and player.” Former Manchester City forward Balotelli reposted an image of computer game character Super Mario on Instagram which included the words “jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a Jew.” He later tweeted to deny the post was offensive, before apologising. Balotelli returned to the Liverpool squad for Sunday’s defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford after six games out with a groin problem. But he was not involved in Wednesday’s League Cup win at Bournemouth. He has scored two goals in his 15 appearances for the club since signing from AC Milan in the summer.

Ouko to serve as interim KRU chair until March Kenya Rugby Union KRU Board met on Wednesday and unanimously settled on Gabriel Ouko to serve as chairman until March. Ouko who appears not to have been involved in any of the current KRU Board infighting was the obvious choice when it was largely believed that Philip Jalang’o, the vice-chairman would automatically assume the mantle. The appointment of Ouko has completed an emerging new dimension where particular clubs are keen to have as many of their own in the KRU Board. At the moment, KRU is technically, operational although sponsors have categorically stated they would not deal with some of the individuals on the Board. It appears intense lobbying is what will win the day at the Board level. Whether it is still a game of numbers is not clear. What cannot be ruled out is that there is already a campaign agenda and lobbying has started. In the meantime, KRU issued a statement in which they assured the rugby fraternity that they will continue towards professionalizing the game and administration.
