Medic warns mums over Caesarean operation risks Doctors gave Caesarean Section (CS) as an emergency response when the life of mother and child were at risk, but young mothers are today asking for it from doctors. Worsened by decisions of unscrupulous doctors in private hospitals, the number of operations in the country are on a steady rise. The Demographic Health Survey, 2003, indicates that CS operations constitutes four per cent of all births in hospitals.
