Waiguru: Govt will listen to civil society
Devolution Secretary Anne Waiguru on Monday assured the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit of greater engagement between the Government and civil society. She said the first ever forum between a Kenyan Head of State and NGO Council prior to President Kenyatta’s departure for the summit was proof of the commitment. The Executive Director of the Kenyan, Northern Organisation of Social Empowerment, Ms Fouzia Dahir, said the civil society in Africa was wary of taking to the streets for a hearing by governments.
