Kidero leads the pack in race for City governorship

overnor Evans Kidero remains the candidate to beat for Nairobi governorship in next year’s elections, a new opinion poll suggest. The Poll released today by TIFA Research Limited, shows Dr Kidero has a six percent lead over senator Mike Sonko who has declared interest in becoming the next governor of the city. The African based research company says it asked respondents who their preferred candidates are with 36 percent opting for Kidero while 30 percent favoured Sonko. MPs Dennis Waweru and Johnson Sakaja both scored just three percent each as did former Starehe legislator Margaret Wanjiru who is also in the race for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat. Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary, the latest entrant to the race, was preferred by CONTINUED ON PAGE 2 just one percent with the rest, 17 percent undecided.
