Pay cuts proposed for teachers money

T

he Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) has proposed a pay cut for Senators and Members of the National Assembly to raise money to pay teachers. Three senators led by the coalition co-principal Moses Wetang’ula said they are ready for the pay cut to meet

the teachers’ demands. Speaking in Machakos county during the burial of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko’s father, Wetang’ula told President Uhuru Kenyatta that leaders should sit and agree on how to re solve the crisis caused by teachers’ strike. “Your excellency when the opposition is criticising you over

certain things that are not right in your leadership it does not mean that we are enemies,” Wetang’ula told President Kenyatta who was also present at the function. CONTINUED ON PAGE 2
