Duale defends Jubilee, hits back at opposition

ajority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale has hit back at the opposition Cord and at the same time defended the Jubilee administration’s scorecard saying it is Kenyans who will determine whether the ruling coalition has failed or not in the next general elections. In his reaction to Cord leader Raila Odinga’s statement yesterday, Duale said it’s only the people of Kenya who

will decide on the fate of the current government based on its performance and service delivery. “Jubilee administration failure cannot be judged by the opposition but by the people of Kenya and they will do that when the right times comes,” Duale said. He however said the opposition is within its constitutional right to criticize the government. “I understand the opposition is playing its role as

mandated in the constitution but they don’t have the final judgment as far as our performance is concerned,” the Garissa Township MP added. Mr Odinga while delivering what he termed as a state of the nation address at a press conference at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi last evening said the government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto has failed Kenyans. DPP orders Shahbal probe after inciting video goes viral

President Uhuru Kenyatta greets locals of Mombasa as he took a walk in the streets of the coastal town. Mr Kenyatta was on an inspection tour of the recently completed street lighting project dubbed “Mwangaza Mtaani” by Kenya Power in Mombasa. The project now allows extended working hours for businesses and vendors. It was undertaken at a cost of Sh1.2 billion and extended to the local beaches.

Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigating (DCI) to investigate Mombasa politician Suleiman Shahbal over 2017 elections rigging clims. Shahbal in a video that has now gone viral on social media was captured saying that the Jubilee administration will win the next general elections by all means. “This time round I’m telling you that we will win the 2017 elections by force.
