Jubilee’s diaspora scheme for 2017
Former First Lady Lucy Kibaki who died early today while undergoing treatment at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London, United Kingdom.
The ruling Jubilee coalition has put in place an elaborate plan targeting diaspora voters in its scheme to retain power in next year’s general election. Among the plans the coalition will undertake includes a series of meetings with Kenyans in the diaspora whose votes could be very crucial in the 2017 power quest. In an exclusive interview with X News, Jubilee Party Steering Committee co-chairman Noah Wekesa revealed that the coalition has split itself into two groups to bring in more votes in the Jubilee basket. One group will next month be dispatched to the US, Australia and Germany to encourage more Kenyans living abroad to register as voters and eventually vote for Jubilee. The team will conduct a meet-the-people tour into five regions; Australia, Antarctica, North America, South America, Europe and Asia. The team is said to be under strong instructions from President Uhuru Kenyatta to persuade Kenyans living abroad on the need to vote in 2017 and why such a vote should be cast for Mr Kenyatta.
