The investigation dubbed ‘The Panama Papers’ was undertaken and headed by German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung and Washington-based International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), with the collaboration of reporters from more than 100 media outlets in 78 countries around the world. Committee to look into City transport chaos A committee consisting of matatu stakeholders, Nairobi County officials and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has today been formed to address the problem of congestion in the capitals central business district which has been blamed on the public service vehicles. At a joint press conference today, Nairobi County deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke said the committee will be tasked with restoring order and sanity among public service vehicles in the city. “The committee will seek to restore order within the public service sector which will include courtesy, observation of transport rules, cleanliness of vehicles, avoidance of noise pollution, touting and co-existence with other city businesses,” Mueke said. Only last week, governor Evans Kidero revoked parking licences for all public service vehicles entering the CBD and ordered that they seek fresh permission. This was after traders and business people I the CBD threatened to stop remitting taxes to the county government saying City Hall had failed to control the rogue matatus that blocked
