ormer Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chief executive James Oswago has criticized the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission accusing it of witch-hunt for recommending that he be prosecuted in relation to the Chikengate scandal while giving a clean verdict for the commissioners. EACC yesterday forwarded the Chickengate probe file to the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko and recommended criminal charges against Mr Oswago and whistleblower Trevy Oyombra and two others. The anti-graft agency however said it found no evidence of culpability on the part of any other official of the then Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IIEC). IEBC chairman Isaack Hassan and Former Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir were the others being probed having served as commissioners of the now defunct IIEC.
Three more schools burnt in latest wave of arson Three more schools were burnt last night in a new wave of arson, raising concerns on the crisis in the education sector. The latest incidents were reported in Ruthimitu Secondary in Dagoretti, Muhoho Secondary in Gatundu and another school in Malindi where dormitories and classes were burnt. According to the Kenya Red Cross Society, no one was injured in each of the incidents, which were contained with the help of the local communities.

Of the 45, 11 bodies have been found in shallow graves in the area, the group says.
