MPs trade blames over medics strike
Opposition MPs and their Jubilee counterparts yesterday traded blames over the ongoing strike by doctors. While the opposition legislators accused President Kenyatta of failing to effectively address the problem, the Jubilee MPs said government remains committed to ending the strike. The arguments emerged even as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Joyce Laboso referred the matter of doctors’ strike to the committee of Health and Labour. The directive by the speaker follows a presentation of a petition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union (KMPDU) to the National Assembly yesterday. CONTINUED ON PAGE 2

Country treading on dangerous path, NCIC warns
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has raised the red flag over the escalating political tension in the country warning that it could plunge Kenyans into chaos similar to the ones witnessed in 2007/2008.
