At least 2,300 doctors have quit, gone abroad since strike began A total of 2,300 doctors have quit working in public hospitals and others gone abroad for greener pastures since the ongoing strike began 66 days ago. Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Ouma Oluga disclosed to senators that the medics have been forced to quit by deep rooted tribalism and unfair treatment at the counties.
According to the unionist, doctors are unfairly treated at the counties with some denied opportunities to go abroad for further studies. The unfair treatment according to Oluga has made majority of doctors to seek for greener pastures abroad a situation he described as sad. CONTINUED ON PAGE 3
