This month we’re obsessed with actress and singer Chrissie Fit! You might’ve seen her in Disney’s Teen Beach Movie or covering Jessie J’s Flashlight with James Maslow - but this month you can catch her as exchange student Flo Fuentes, the newest member of the Barden (University) Bellas a cappella allfemale singing group in Pitch Perfect 2, alongside Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow. This summer is the summer of musicals for Chrissie because right after Pitch Perfect 2 she is also reprising her role as Chee Chee in Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie 2, alongside Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell. Which will premiere June 26. You can keep up with Chrissie on twitter and instagram as @chrissiefit

This month we fell in love with the SS 15 collection, Solidus 3 from Amxander. Started by Jason Alexander Pang, who previously worked under Mary Katrantzou, the Australian designer creates prints using techniques which incorporate painting and print manipulation. This collection really focused on having strong, bold prints and honing in on an abstract expressionist theme on easily wearable pieces.

Joining Orphan Black’s “Clone Club” seems to be one of the most coveted positions in tv land and Latvian-Canadian actress Ksenia Solo has signed up for the daunting task. Solo’s name might be recognizable from her breakout role as Kenzi on the supernatural drama Lost Girl; a tv show with a cult following that helped propel her into the internet’s lexicon of rising stars. After a five season stint as the fan favorite sidekick, Solo decided to downsize her role on the show and pursue other opportunities. While the fans of Lost Girl were sad to see less of Kenzi, they didn’t have to wait long to get their weekly dose of Ksenia. Not stopping to take a breath, Solo has nabbed roles on AMC’s revolutionary war drama Turn as well as the aforementioned hit Orphan Black. The Graeme Manson and John Fawcett mystery, sci-fi smash >> >> begins its third season on BBC America this month and already promises more jarring turns that will be sure to elicit gasps from

many couches across North America. At the end of season two audiences were left reeling after the existence of Project Castor, the brother experiment to Project Leda, was revealed. Orphan Black’s new series promises to delve into the existence of new clones as well as introduce a plethora of new personalities to shake up the already complicated environment. Solo’s character Shay is rumored to cause some drama in the life of another fan-favorite, Cosima Neihaus played expertly by the multifaceted Tatiana Maslany. Whether it’s in the form of an exciting new romantic opportunity or the possibility of shifting loyalties, Shay’s arrival is guaranteed to inject some fresh perspective into the mix. The powers that be are notoriously closed lipped about the on-goings inside the world of Orphan Black but luckily XO Magazine had a chance to talk to Ksenia and try to weasel out any information she would give us.
XO Magazine: A lot of fans know you as Bo’s snarky companion Kenzi on Lost Girl and now that that’s coming to a close you must have reflected back on the show and your character. What do you think is the best thing you’ve taken away from the experience as a whole? Ksenia Solo: I’m taking away the relationships that I have developed with both my Lost Girl family and with my incredible fans. XO: Leaving a show that you’ve been working on for about six years couldn’t have been easy, what lead you to decide to limit your appearances? KS: I just came to a point in my life where I felt that it was time for a change. I wanted to have the chance to play other roles and work on other projects so that I could keep growing as an actor. It was not easy, but it felt right.
XO: Kenzi’s role has been completely transformed since the start of the series, is there anything you can tease for her in the back half of season five? KS: A complete makeover of Kenzi! XO: Transitioning from the supernatural, to sci-fi and even to a period piece in AMC’s Turn, do you have a particular genre that you favor? KS: Right now I’m just enjoying being apart of shows that are completely different genres. To be honest, it’s hard to pick a favorite but as long as the material is rich, I am open to play in any world. XO: Lost Girl has such an amazing and dedicated fanbase, not too different from Orphan Black’s “Clone Club.” Since the explosion of social media fans have become so much more interactive with the media they consume,

do you enjoy getting to have such a connection to those people? KS: I was actually the last [Lost Girl] cast member to jump on the social media train, as I am a very private person and the whole idea of it made me nervous. I got the hang of it though and now I am very grateful to be able to connect with my fans. They are so wonderful and supportive; they’ve made the experience awesome. XO: So far we only know a little about your Orphan Black character Shay, what more can you tell us about this “compassionate holistic healer” and how she gets involved this season? Perhaps something to do with Cosima’s illness?
look for? KS: I am always looking to play unique characters and it’s not an easy task. Both Lost Girl and Orphan Black have fascinating female characters. The creators and writers of both have done an amazing job creating such kick ass, complex women. It’s been a thrill to be apart of both shows. XO: Although it seems like your schedule is completely filled, are there any other passions that take up the little free time you have?
"It's going to be a w ild r ide."
KS: All I can say is that Shay is someone who will bring big change into Cosima’s life. XO: It seems like Shay and Cosima are going to be close but did you have a favorite clone or other character going into the show? KS: I absolutely love Tatiana as Rachel. She is so unrecognizable as her. I guess I’m a sucker for the villain. I also can’t get enough of Felix. XO: In many of the projects you’ve worked on, especially Lost Girl and Orphan Black, they’ve all done a good job of writing roles that reflect all different types of women. Is that something you try to
KS: Yes, of course, I have many. Just to name a few… Music, dance, fashion, yoga, traveling the world, food.
XO: We know that Orphan Black is a very “hush-hush” production but is there maybe a sentence or two that you could give us to prepare the fans for what’s to come? KS: Get ready for fascinating new characters, intriguing relationships, love, skin and betrayals. Its going to be a wild ride.
Make sure you catch Ksenia Solo blow up the small screen starting this month with AMC’s Turn on Monday nights, Lost Girl on SyFy’s Friday lineup, and finish the week with BBC America’s third season of Orphan Black airing every Saturday.

Los Angeles four piece Dead Sara kicked off their Spring 2015 tour in the good ol’ Lonestar state and I was lucky enough to be there to capture it all. Starting in Houston the band show casesd new songs, played some old favourites and left crowds wanting more. From joining fans on stage for a mass singalong to ‘Weatherman’ and then nearly watching a riot break out in Austin (ironically to one of the most feel good songs off their new album) documenting this band and seeing them grow has been an amazing experience. I can’t wait to see what else they have up their sleeves.
