HOW BIG IS YOUR WAVE?

KIM WALKER-SMITH IN THE RIVER: THE HEART OF THE SONG

EDITORIAL

Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb. — Revelation 22:1 The river of God is a river of life that flows from His very presence! It is a river filled with joy, healing, deliverance, prosperity, love, righteousness, and love. This river flows into our life directly from the throne and also flows through us to the world we live in. Jesus said, "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38 God is inviting you to enjoy His glorious river of life. Jump in and get caught in it’s current. Get so filled that the overflow will pour out to all you come in contact with. Everywhere the river flows there is life (Ezekiel 47:9)… let it flow! ARISE

by Gloria Copeland

This world is constantly plagued by shortages. Have you ever noticed that? It seems everybody is always running short of something. You never hear anyone say, “Oh my, I have more time than I need… I have more money than I can use… I have so many solutions, I’m having to hunt problems just to keep up!” Such words sound ridiculous in a world ruled by scarcity and lack. Yet, the truth is, those are the kinds of words you and I should be saying all the time. After all, as born-again children of God, we don’t belong to this pitiful world. We’re in it, Jesus said, but we’re not of it (John 17:15-16). We belong to the kingdom of God—and there are no shortages in that kingdom. It has an abundant supply of any resource you could ever need. Many believers never tap into those resources because they think God’s kingdom is just a religious concept, a theological theory. But it’s not. It’s real—and we can live in it. Actually, the word kingdom means “dominion.” God’s kingdom is where God has dominion. Of course, since God has absolute dominion in heaven, every child of God will ultimately enjoy the blessings of His kingdom. But, praise God, we don’t have to wait until we get to heaven! If we’ll give God dominion in our lives here and now, we can experience “…days of heaven upon the earth” (Deuteronomy 11:21).

“But Gloria, I just don’t understand how that’s possible. Everything in this world around us is falling apart. There’s nothing heavenly about it!” True. That’s why Christians who depend on this world aren’t doing very well these days. They’re limiting themselves to the world’s technology (abilities and answers) and they’re getting the world’s results. In other words, they’re looking to the outside instead of looking on the inside. You see, as a believer, everything you will ever need and everything God has ever promised is on the inside of you right now. The extra $500 a month you need for your family is in there. The new car you need is in there. The healing you need, the answers you need, the miracles you need—all of them are right there in your heart. How can I be so sure? Because God Himself lives in you. He came to dwell there the moment you were born again—and He is the source of all things. His Spirit is a wellspring of life, bubbling up continually within you. And unlike the wells of

the world, this one never runs dry! Jesus Himself assured us of that in John 4, where He said, “Whosoever drinketh of this [natural world’s] water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (verses 13-14). Just think about that! Through the supernatural spring of His Spirit, God is continually imparting to us strength and power, guidance and counseling. He is providing us with a reservoir that will keep us fully supplied, not according to the meager resources of this earth, but according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). All we have to do is step into the Holy Spirit’s flow and we’ll have everything we need. The problem is, most people (Christians included) don’t know anything about that divine flow. So they just paddle around in the natural stream of things trying to keep their heads above water as the circumstances and shortages of the world drag them under. But it’s time we got wise! It’s time we stopped going with the flow of the natural, worldly things around us, and started going with the flow of the Spirit instead. From the Desert to the River How do you go about yielding to that supernatural flow? First, you must hear and obey the Word of God. You must put that Word in your heart and bring it out of your mouth, not just once or twice but consistently. You must follow the instructions God gives in Proverbs 4:20-23: “My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard,

4

for out of it flow the springs of life.” (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition) If you’re attending to God’s Word, when you have a problem you won’t think of going to the world first. You’ll go to the Word. You’ll find out what God has promised to do for you. Once you’ve found that promise, you’ll put it in your heart. You’ll believe it. You’ll speak it. Then faith will come alive inside you. Once faith comes alive concerning that situation, the power of God will explode in your heart and you’ll start walking in victory.

You and I don’t have to be bystanders who just watch what God is doing. Everything in the natural world may look just as dark as it ever did. Everyone in the world may still be telling you how impossible your situation is. But that won’t matter because you’ll know you’ve stepped out of the stream of circumstances and into the river of God. And once God’s river starts to flow from within you, the whole natural realm has to yield to it. Bad situations, poverty, sickness and lack of any kind must bow their knees to His supernatural supply! I’ll never forget how desperate Ken and I were when we first tapped into that supernatural flow. We were so broke and so in debt it seemed we’d never get out. Ken was a student at Oral Roberts University and the only regular income we had was the $100 a month he received for co-piloting Brother Roberts’ airplane. We lived in a dumpy, old house furnished in early Goodwill. People were threatening to sue us, and we

had a history of failing financially at everything we tried to do. How had we gotten in that terrible shape? Just by flowing with the natural forces of this world. We hadn’t set out to mess things up. We had done the best we could, but the defeat and lack (what the Bible calls the “curses”) of the world had overtaken us. Then one day, the Word of God came to me. He didn’t speak to me in an audible voice. He just quickened a scripture to my heart as I was reading the Bible. The scripture was 2 Corinthians 9:8: “And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, be self-sufficient—possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation.” (AMPC) At that moment, there appeared to be no way Ken and I would ever have an abundance of anything except needs. Yet in the face of that impossible-looking situation, I chose to believe God’s Word. I began to say, “God is able to make every earthly blessing come to me in abundance! God is able!” Ken believed it too, and together we began to tap into the flow of the Spirit. We started talking prosperity instead of poverty. We stopped borrowing money. And we started obeying the promptings of the Holy Spirit where our finances were concerned. Eleven months later, we were completely debt free. Financially speaking, we had been total failures. Yet simply because we believed God and obeyed His Word, He was able to turn that failure around. He was able to supply us not according to the shortages of this world, but according to His riches in glory. The Great Equalizer Since that time, I’ve never wanted to live any other way. I love knowing

that every day as I go about my daily work—whether it’s planting flowers, writing letters or taping a television program—there is a flow of the Spirit of God in me to empower, enable and provide for me. If I’ll yield to it, that flow will make me a much greater success than I could ever be on my own… and it will do the same for you. You see, the Spirit of God is the great equalizer. When you’re yielding to Him, it doesn’t really matter what attributes, or lack you might have in the natural. It doesn’t matter if you’re a person of high intellect or low intellect. You may be dumb as can be on your own, but you’re smart when you’re flowing in the Spirit because through Him, you’re connected to accurate information. In fact, even though you’re very intelligent, you’re going to be disappointed in life and live way below God’s best if you don’t learn how to follow the voice of the Spirit. Because no matter how smart you are, humanly speaking, you’re not as smart as God. “But Gloria, I don’t think God speaks to me like He does to you.” Yes, He does. You just haven’t been tuning in to Him. Jesus promised that His sheep would hear His voice (John 10:3). So believe that promise and begin to turn your ear toward Him by spending time each day in the Word and in prayer. As you do that, you’ll find there’s a Word from God—a prompting— whenever you need it about anything in life. I don’t mean just in spiritual things either. God will give you answers and enlighten you about every situation if you’ll just learn to flow in His Spirit. That’s how Jesus operated when He was on earth. The Bible says, “the Holy Ghost descended…upon him” (Luke 3:22) and from that time on, He began to have manifestations of the Spirit in His ministry. Jesus said clearly that He didn’t do the miracles, healings, and other wonderful things

that happened everywhere He went. He said it was the Father in Him Who did them. Take the Plunge! Am I saying we can live like Jesus? Yes, I am! We have been born of God and filled with His Holy Spirit. After all, the same Spirit Who came upon Him when He was baptized in the Jordan comes upon us when we’re baptized in the Holy Spirit. And that Spirit gives us power to do the same works He did. If you doubt it, go back and read the book of Acts again. All the way through that book you’ll see miraculous, amazing things occurring. You’ll see miracles performed, people healed, devils cast out—not by Jesus Himself, but by people like Peter, John, Phillip, Stephen and Paul. Acts 9 even tells of a time when Peter raised a woman named Dorcas from the dead. Verse 42 says that because of that miracle “…many believed in the Lord.” Of course they did! That’s the way God meant for His gospel to be preached. He never meant for people to have to believe that His Word is true just because we say so. He wants manifestations of the Spirit to accompany and confirm it. In this last, great move of God on the earth, people are going to start seeing those manifestations again. Signs and wonders are going to follow the Word just like they did in the book of Acts. That’s exciting, isn’t it? But what’s even more exciting is this: If you’re preaching the Word of God, those signs are going to follow you! You and I don’t have to be bystanders who just watch what God is doing. We can be part of it if we want to be, and I’m telling you right now—I want to be! I want to be right in the middle of it. I want to be under the spout where the glory comes out! I don’t want to be tangled up with natural endeavors that won’t even matter to me a year from now. God didn’t put me in this end-time generation so I could fritter away my

time on the temporary things of the world. He didn’t baptize me with the Holy Spirit so I could give all my time and attention to some silly thing that I won’t even remember next year. He equipped me with His power so I could flow in the Spirit and accomplish eternal things for Him that will last forever! He sent me here to show forth His mighty deeds and display His love (1 Peter 2:9). That might shock some people, but it is true nevertheless. After all, Jesus Himself said, “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21). How did the Father send Jesus? He sent Him anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power (Acts 10:38). And that’s how He is sending us! He is sending us to live like Jesus lived. To do that, we must get out of the world’s flow. We must stop being limited by its sickness, poverty and lack of power. And we must start living instead in the flow of the Spirit. We must start living a life of abundance, blessing, health and increase—a life that acts like the Word of God is true—and lets the Holy Spirit lead, and love light the way. That kind of life is available now to every believer who is willing to step into it. It is ready to flow up from within you and provide you with everything you need to be all that Jesus has called you to be. So if you’re still on the bank of this mighty Holy Ghost river, watching and wondering whether you should take the plunge, let me encourage you to go for it. Don’t wait another minute. a “world changer”? For most of my life I thought the only way to make a real difference was to be in pulpit ministry. Little did I know that becoming a faith-based business owner would give me a far broader reach around the world than I ever imagined. In just the last two years, my work has successfully taken me to 14 nations around the world. As I reflect on each of these trips and the rich “God encounters” that have occurred, I see that our work is our ministry. What about you? You have a glorious destiny just waiting to create some waves! What are you really passionate about? What inspires you to jump out of bed in the morning? What do you love thinking about, dreaming about? What are the things you loved doing as a child? What are you naturally good at? Chances are the things you are passionate about are directly tied to your life purpose. Work of every kind is honorable. It’s time to stop doing what you think everyone else is expecting of you and get in touch with what truly brings you joy and satisfaction at the end of the day. I have as much respect for a housekeeper or a secretary as I do for a high-level executive. Whenever someone does a job to the best of their ability and with a good attitude, they are an absolute champion in my book. And no matter what job you are doing, it can be your ministry. When you are walking in the flow with your talents, you are doing what you are created to do. So how do we create a wave of positive influence in God’s kingdom? Get in touch with what you love and then simply start doing it! It may only be a hobby right now; however, you may be able to turn it into a successful business. Joy and cheerfulness are linked with health in several Bible verses. Chronic sadness and depression from difficult experiences or tragedy can rob us of our joy. The Lord left us clues in His Word that point to the provision He’s made to help us release the past and restore our inheritance of joy! INSPIR ATION

She Lives By the River

by Stella Payton

Everything lives by the river. Jeremiah 17:8 says, “For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” I have read this passage many times. Only recently did I notice that the tree planted by the river was described as having her roots and her leaf. Perhaps, God wanted to recognize the female tendency to plant and nest, as we create a place where everything we touch can come alive. There is no greater example of this principle than the woman described in Proverbs 31. She is a “River Woman.” She lived life by the river of God’s blessing and presence. Everything she touched sprang into life. Her man rested. Her children flourished. Her businesses thrived. Her servants grew. Her words nourished the hearts of her listeners. She was a flourishing tree that fed others from the source where she drank. We all need people in our lives who feed our souls. These are people who flow into us like tributaries and supply us with thirst quenching water. They speak words of life. They are full of encouragement. They proclaim with power. They are channels redirecting life sustaining water (or words) to those around them. The “River Woman” of Proverbs 31 channels the river. She draws from a deep source and extends wide her reach. She enlarges her circle of influence and releases life into everything and everyone around her. You too can be a River Woman! You are a flourishing tree living by the river of God’s love. Imagine life where everything you touch comes alive with blessing, glory and success. This can be your reality. What is waiting for your touch? Who is waiting for your touch? Go River Woman… and touch the world around you! LIVING

by Patricia King

In our modern-day, western world, there is great concern regarding aging. In fact, anti-aging solutions have become a multi-billion dollar industry. The “fountain of youth” is marketed in the medical and cosmetic fields with anti-aging surgeries, procedures, and techniques along with an unending variety of vitamins, pharmaceuticals, and other acclaimed “miracle” products that promise to remove wrinkles, spots, blemishes, sagging skin, drooping muscles, limp lips, erectile dysfunctions, brain fog, memory loss, fatigue, sleeplessness, leaky bladders, hip and knee replacements, and more! In the beginning, God created man to live forever without deterioration or decay but as a result of sin, our lives were introduced to the power of aging and death. In Christ, we have been restored to “eternal life” and we will eventually see the last enemy of death defeated in full manifestation. We resist aging because we were never created for it. Even the world knows it is to be resisted Through interaction with those in the latter part of life, I discovered that many are filled with a significant fear of aging.

12

ARISE

In July 2016 I launched our first “Seniors on the Frontlines” event and discovered that many did not want to attend the conference due to the fact that they struggled with being identified as a senior. A number explained to me that their perceptions of seniors included being old and worn out, wrinkled, barely moving, without vision, and broke and so why would they want to join the senior’s club? I am not exaggerating when I say there was some major resistance to identifying themselves as part of the senior’s generation.

As I pondered this element of fear and resistance, I argued, “If an individual was a senior executive in a business corporation, their position would be respected and often coveted. “ Not one would balk at being identified as the senior executive. Why then would we cringe with disdain when we refer to those who are “seniors” in life? I believe that one of the primary reasons is due to society’s perception and expectation. It is a fact that we often see the older generation as being limited, without vision, downsizing, weak, broke and ready to finish life. There is a general belief that when we hit the fifties it is time to think about retirement because our best years are ready to pass. My friend, just after her forty-eighth birthday, received an invitation to join the membership

We resist aging because we were never created for it. of a national organization who helps seniors with discounts, medical insurance supplements, etc. A number of businesses and ministries have a policy to lay off employees when they are 65 whether they want to continue or not. Seniors are not usually encouraged to dream big but rather they are asked if they have enough retirement income to live off. Their dreams are often diminished to traveling around in a motor home or sitting by a pool deck sipping lemonade. I once struck up a conversation with a senior in a hotel lobby and asked what he was planning for his life following his retirement (which was scheduled for three months from the time I spoke with him). He said he had no plans. He had no vision. He explained that he would be happy to get out of the daily grind of the workplace but he had no vision for his final years – and he was only 59! When we expect nothing, we get nothing. What if we were to change our perception? What if we were to change our expectation? What if the “latter glory of the house” truly is “greater than the former”(Haggai 2:9)? What would happen if we started to believe that and prepare for the best years ever? What an exciting hour God has brought us to. What great opportunities await those in their latter years. It is time to fully embrace life and a glorious future!

Prophetic Word for the Senior Generation Through Patricia King March 7, 2016 In March 2016, the Lord revealed to me a prophetic insight regarding His purpose for the generation of “seniors” that fill the earth today. The following is that exciting word:

I see a company of radical believers in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond arising in these days. This generation is invited by the Spirit of God to experience personal revival that will re-ignite their passion and their purpose. They are a generation full of wisdom and zeal, and they carry dreams yet to be fulfilled. Their latter glory will be greater than the former. I see them walking with those of the younger generation and empowering them with encouragement in their destiny callings. They are gathering together with excitement for the future fully confident that God’s plan is for their latter days to be filled with fruitfulness and fulfilled dreams. They are redefining the concept and perspective of “senior” to be that of honor, power, and hope. They will be a sought-after and honored generation. Many in their senior years will rise into places of predominance and leadership in their fields of service. They will produce more fruit in their latter days with less effort than they put forth in their former years. Financial increase and sudden provisional surprises will come to them. Favor will rest upon this generation and a wave of healing, health, and rejuvenation in body, soul, and spirit will visit them. They will be filled with joy that overflows! They will step into supernatural realms of glory and power in ways that the world will have no doubt that God is in the midst of them. This generation will manifest strength, fruitfulness, prosperity, vision and longevity more than any generation of seniors since the resurrection of Jesus Christ. They will finish strong and there will P A T R I C I A be many who will live to K I N G over one hundred years of age enjoying active and productive lives.

PROPHECY

Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? — Esther 4:14

We find deliverers all

over the Old and New Testaments. Moses was a deliverer. Joshua followed in his footsteps as a deliverer. Deborah was a judge and mighty deliverer. Gideon became a fearless deliverer. Samuel anointed deliverers. In fact, all of the prophets were deliverers —Elijah, Elisha, Ezekiel, Daniel… Queen Esther was a deliverer. Jesus was the greatest deliverer of them all. Each of Jesus’ disciples who followed thereafter also took up the deliverer mandate, including His mother, Mary, Anna in the temple, Paul and his penetrating apostolic journeys, Phillip the miracle working evangelist, Lydia of the marketplace, Phoebe and her house church gatherings and countless (many nameless) others.

Extraordinary Kingdom Right up to the present day, God—the great Creator and Deliverer— commissions men and women to reflect His heart and bring liberation from bondage. Would you include yourself in that list? What mighty exploits have you done lately? You may think, “Well, my life is just ordinary. I go to work every day. I feed the cat. I go to church on Sunday. Once I went on a short-term mission trip, but all we did was fix up a school.” Andrea del Castagno. Public domain. No, you are not ordinary! You become extraordinary by the empowering work of the Holy Spirit. You have been chosen for such a time as this. Come on now, just step into the river of God’s presence and make a difference! You too can be a passionate, infectious believer after God’s own heart.

Chosen for Her Generation I love to read the book of Esther, because her story is so gripping. I never get tired of seeing how, through Esther’s obedience and courage, the evil Haman was deposed and the entire Jewish nation was preserved from annihilation. Esther is probably one of the biblical characters that gives my life some of its greatest inspiration. A nobody becomes a somebody and then that somebody changes history! That somebody becomes a deliver! I have etched in my memory bank that night when I was in a sleeper car on a train rumbling along from Heidelberg, Germany to southern Bavaria. The voice of the Lord was relentlessly calling to me, “Where are my Daniels, my Esthers, my Josephs and my Deborahs for this generation?” God has never stopped asking that question. I freely volunteered that night to be a worshiper of God and a deliverer of men. How about you?

“In the River” is a song about the joy we have in

God’s presence. There are so many people who can identify with the message of finding the joy of the Lord during hard seasons, and there is something in all of us that is longing for that expression of joy. I feel certain that if you were to ask a number of random churchgoers, if they could remember the last time they sang a really joyful song in their church service, a majority of them wouldn’t be able to. We seem to have moved away from that. So many of our worship songs are beautiful, but they are lacking that joy, which is one of the fruits of the Spirit and is something we should be experiencing as Christians. As a movement and as worship leaders, we want people to experience the joy of the Lord and the joy of His presence, which is something that is so needed in this time that we are in. What draws people in to the heart of God and attracts people to Him? I believe that joy is one of the first things that people should encounter in us as believers. I don’t think they should encounter judgment or depression. I think they should encounter joy. As Christians, we have a responsibility to show how the joy of the Lord is our strength, how it is not based on our circumstances or our feelings, but is burst from deep down inside of us and is birthed by His Spirit. I think that’s one of the first things the world sees in us. We live in a world that is lost, with people all around who are hurting. You don’t have to look very hard to see in articles and in social media the issues with all the different drugs that people use

for self-medicating depression and anxiety, all the heaviness, weariness, economy and money issues and burdens they carry. What they should see when they encounter us is joy. They are living in the same world I’m living in, but I’m experiencing something different. That’s the beauty of having a relationship with Jesus and walking with Him and having the reality of the kingdom alive within. “In the River” is a powerful song in fueling that and helping ignite that joy inside of us. The Lord calls us to have joy in Him regardless of our circumstances. Our true joy comes from our relationship with Jesus. This song helps set my mind on Christ and allows the distractions of the day to melt away, focusing instead on worshiping the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Regardless of our circumstances, we need to truly be free in Christ and be filled with joy, like Paul and Silas in prison. One of the greatest witnesses that followers of Jesus can demonstrate to non-believers in order to show them the upside down kingdom of God, is to live out the words of this song and experience that inner joy. “In the River” is an uplifting, catchy and encouraging song. As a follower of Jesus, you’ll want to join in and sing out: “Break open prison doors, set all the captives free. Spring up a well, spring up a well, spring up a well in me. Nothing can stop this joy, we’re dancing in the streets. Spring up a well, spring up a well, spring up a well in me. We come alive in the river.” Amen to that!

SOUL FOOD

Open Up Ye Gates! by Katie Souza

Jesus said, “He who believes in Me… from his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.” — John 7:38

The Lord promised that rivers of living water

would flow forth continuously from our innermost being. Yet few are experiencing this. Instead, many of us aren’t thinking right thoughts, don’t have healthy emotions and are sick in our bodies. Romans 8:11 says the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in us and will quicken our mortal bodies. So why are we constantly battling disease and disorder? What is blocking the flow of the living waters Jesus promised us? There are ancient gates and doors (Psalm 24) inside us that are closed, thus preventing the resurrection power in our spirit from flowing into the rest of our being. We have gates in our body like the eye, ear and mouth gates. We also have them in our soul. The Hebrew word for gate means to reason out, calculate, and estimate. Where do these functions happen? In our mind, which is part of our soul. These soul gates consist of things like our imagination, reasoning, will and emotions. When sin happens at these gates they close down and the flow is blocked. We may have used our mouth to gossip or our imagination to picture evil. If so, sin has closed those gates and blocked the flow of living water to our entire being.

The good news is that when Jesus died on the cross, His blood ripped the veil in the temple. We are the temple of the Lord now. Because of His sacrifice we are already forgiven. Decree His blood is on every closed gate, then just like Psalm 24 instructs, command them to be lifted up so the flow will come. I ministered to a woman who had a detached retina. When she put the blood on her eye gate and commanded it to be lifted up, it instantly reattached! A man in Montana was gassy and bloated from backed up bile in his body as a result of a liver disease. When I commanded his ancient gates to be lifted up, he lost 16 pounds in 24 hours, and 15 more pounds within the next two weeks. Open up ye gates and let the river flow! HEALING

The River of Restoration by Paulette Reed

Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal nations. — Revelation 22:1-2

Twenty-four years ago, I was in the midst of a pain-

ful divorce. My emotions were shattered. My finances were wiped out. I felt rejected and abandoned. I was spiritually dead, paralyzed with anxiety, and trying to raise three sons to the best of my ability. I was broken, destitute, and empty. Talk about needing restoration! Perhaps you can relate to needing restoration in areas of your life. If so, I have great news for you. God has a river that flows from His throne and He is inviting you to jump in. This is a river of restoration. Its waters are life-giving and it carries healing and restorative properties, bringing life to everything it touches. This river of restoration can bring healing and restoration, not only to individuals, but also to nations. I have personally experienced this river that God sent to restore me in the midst of my brokenness and despair.

Peace. The Lord delivered me from anxiety through His wonderful river of life and granted me divine peace that surpasses understanding. I still face challenges like everyone else, but I have supernatural “peace like a river” that keeps me steady and strong through every trial. Health. The River of God brought healing to my physical body, mind and emotions. Through prayer, inner healing and deliverance, I was set free and restored to wholeness. You might be in need of restoration. I want to encourage you. God’s River of restoration can flow into your life. Places that were once damaged, ruined and dry can spring to life!

Five areas god’s river restored in my life

Three keys to help you jump in the river

Joy. In the midst of a season of depression and hope-

lessness, God led me into a “river encounter” where I was brought to sincere faith and filled with His Spirit. Supernatural joy flooded my heart. It didn’t make sense to my mind due to my circumstances, but it was very real. His joy became my strength. I have never lost this joy. It is joy unspeakable and full of glory. Communication. I had lost my ability to communicate, but when I encountered the River of God, my communication was restored. I have served the Body of Christ for many years now as a prophetess, teacher, writer and itinerant speaker. Provision. I had lost everything through the divorce. The house and furniture were gone, and there was little money to pay the bills. It was amazing to watch God restore provision and become everything that I needed. I marvel at the Lord’s goodness. His river is full of provision and it continues to increase. 22

Here are three important keys I learned that will help you to jump in the River: Put god first. The River comes from God. As you put Him first in your heart, your life will be filled with everything you need. Worship. Worshiping God makes a way for the River to flow into your heart and life. Fellowship. Spend time with those who believe in the fullness of God’s power and love. Spirit-filled fellowship offers encouragement, focus and empowerment. Are you ready to be restored? Jump right in! JUSTICE

Don’t Be Silent Standing on the small unstable stage in Cambodia,

in the humble school where XPmission-sponsored kids attend, I experienced something I would never forget. For two and a half years prior to that moment, our dance company had performed multiple shows about social justice issues to raise money for these very kids. One of the signature moves in the show was a move where we covered our mouths with our hands and then removed them. The movement symbolized the struggle to find a voice that those caught in slavery face. It was a tremendous honor to be able to perform our show for these precious children directly. The six of us pushed through the heat and humidity to give them the best performance we could. During the part of the show when our cast repeatedly covered and uncovered our mouths with our hands, we were looking out at the children’s little eyes gazing at us. It was surreal. Then it happened. At first it was just one, then a few more, but soon all of the children joined us in executing that move. They joined us in the physical message that no one should have their voice taken away. For two and a half years previously, we raised our voices for those who could not speak for themselves in multiple venues and there in that moment, the very ones we had been representing joined us. Watching their hands coming

off their mouths, was as though there was hope manifesting right before our eyes. It was a life changing moment for all of us. Everyone should have a voice. Not everyone does. But for those who are silenced by oppression, abuse, shame, and fear, there are those of us who can, and must, be a voice for them. Freedom is a thread that is woven by God into the fabric of who we are and when we aren’t living free, it is an injustice. There could have been any number of things that made the foundations of the throne of God, but He said, “righteousness and justice” are the foundations of His throne. We are all called through love to fight for the freedom of those who can’t fight for themselves. Righteousness and justice need a voice. Let us not be silent. Let us be a voice, and help those who have lost theirs to find it. HEATHER CLARK is an international worship leader and recording artist. She also has her own dance company with which she tours doing shows on topics of mercy and justice. Heather is passionate about seeing people walk in the fullness of who they are, fulfilling all their dreams. She uses the creative arts as a means of worship, mentorship and mercy.

MISSIONS

Amazing things happen when those who have no voice finally hear The Voice.

Children Arising In 2014, I attended a leadership event, with Patricia

King, in Thailand and Cambodia. Being an advocate for anti-human trafficking had always been in my heart, but knowing the immensity of the problem, I wondered what I could possibly do to make a difference. Later, I received a mandate to establish kids houses of prayer in the slums of Cambodia. I shared the vision, and within two weeks God had provided everything we needed. We had a house in an at-risk community, an incredible director for the project, and a slum full of children who were hungry to learn more about Jesus and His kingdom. Most of these precious little ones had never even heard about Jesus previously, yet they soon began to experience God supernaturally! They were going to heaven, seeing angels, having visitations of Jesus and encountering God’s love in real and tangible ways. One child met Jesus in a heavenly experience, where Jesus told him he would be a leader like Moses. This little boy had never heard of Moses before in his life, yet he was miraculously told by the Lord that he would lead his nation out of injustice and set his people free.

Another child was taken to the top of a mountain where he was met by angels of freedom. While there, Jesus removed his fears and told him he would walk on water. With no Biblical knowledge, he was told to step out in faith and only believe. These children who were formerly overlooked, abandoned and abused are now arising in their authority in Christ. They are working miracles and seeing signs and wonders everywhere they go. Blind eyes have opened, the lame can walk, and many are coming to know Jesus through these young healing evangelists. Be inspired by the voices of children. No voice is too small—kids around the world are changing their nations and setting the captives free! CAROL KOCH is director for Children on the Frontlines. PR AYER

A RIVER In Ezekiel’s vision, the river that comes out of the tem-

ple is only a trickle. The further it gets from the temple, the deeper it becomes. This is indicative of what is happening in this hour of church history. As the gospel is going to the ends of the earth, we almost cannot keep up with the acceleration of kingdom advance. The river of God is flowing further and further from the birthplace of our faith to bring all people from all nations into His house. Before Jesus left earth, He prayed a very deep prayer for a massively wide impact. “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17: 20-23 (emphasis mine) Jesus is giving us one of the greatest keys for world evangelization in this prayer. He is praying that all believers from every age, nation and denomination would become one, just as the Godhead is one. Oneness is central to His nature, and it is central to the nature of His Body (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Romans 12:4-5). Even the fivefold gifts of the Spirit are given to equip the Church to attain the “unity of the faith… and to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ… We are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.” Ephesians 4:13, 15 (emphasis mine) There are remarkable things happening as the Father answers the prayer of His Son. Five hundred years ago, during the Reformation, the Church divided in unprecedented fashion. The divide between Catholics and Protestants was severe, with each side literally killing the other. The bloodshed continued in the early days of the Reformation with Protestants killing Protestants. In 500 years, Protestants divided into about 33,000 different denominations. But in our lifetime, things have begun to change. Prophets from many nations are proclaiming that a new John 17 movement has begun, where the prayer of Jesus is being answered. Many streams are running together until we see a river of revival flow across the earth. And it is already happening! In January, 2017 more than 10,000 intercessors and evangelists gathered in Augsburg, Germany. The following is a testimony from Dr. Johannes Hartl, the coordinator of the event: 28

of REVIVAL “I do believe that a change took place. We had over 10,000 people at a prayer conference with around 500,000 following online, on TV and radio. We had national secular TV present and they aired it several times on Germany’s largest news show. And it was only positive. The reporter of ARD (the German equivalent of CNN) said that there is something new going on in the Church… Millions saw the broadcast. Newspapers are filled with headlines like ‘Shouts of Joy for God.’ Everybody is talking about it. “We get reports from all denominational backgrounds that there is a release of hope everywhere. There was an outbreak of salvations amongst our security personnel; everybody started to share the gospel. “There was a very powerful moment when the leaders of the fastest growing large youth evangelism ministries in the German-speaking world all gathered on the stage

and made a pact of love to walk together and see Europe saved. This was massive. It was followed by the call to fast for 40 days.” (from a personal email to myself ) Imagine if we all prayed John 17:20-24 every day. Imagine if we began to live it in our daily lives. The greater love that Jesus spoke of is manifesting amongst true believers everywhere. I challenge you, if God has answered your prayers, then give yourself to answering His prayer—so that the world will believe. FAITH

Every River Has a Mouth by Dr. Clarice Fluitt

“  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters.” In John 7:38, Jesus is proclaiming what will happen after His death, burial and resurrection.

He and His Father would send the Holy Spirit to empower the Church to become witnesses of His plan for eternal salvation (healing, deliverance, and prosperity). While meditating on this powerful scripture, I wondered how these supernatural rivers of the Holy Spirit would flow out from the believer into the world? I heard that familiar still small Voice say, “every river has a mouth.” All rivers, both natural and spiritual, must have a mouth before they can release their life-giving contents. As believers, we are individually and corporately designed by God to both house and release the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is spirit and life and must flow out from our mouth into the world. We can flood the earth with the lifegiving Word of God when we choose to agree with God. We understand that life and death reside in our mouth. Don’t get hung by your tongue; get loose from the noose. The same fire that cooks your food can burn down your house. The Word of God is activated when it is spoken. God spoke all things into existence. As sons of God, let us follow His pattern and speak His Word. We are authorized to create with the fruit of our lips as we call the things that are not to become the things that are. God watches over His Word to perform it. We must watch our words knowing that they can produce life or death. I foresee mighty rivers of love and power containing the diversity of God-inspired revelations flowing from the mouth of the glorious Church. It is true, every river has a mouth. Ezekiel 47:9 describes a river flowing from the glorious Church and says that everything these waters touched shall live again! DESTINY

River of Love Immersed in the

by Shirley Seger

I would like to share with you a revelation that

turned my life upside down and sideways. In Revelations 3:15, Jesus said to the Laodicea church “I would rather you be hot or cold, but since you are lukewarm I will vomit you out of my mouth.” This verse always perplexed me until the day I discovered first hand what it means. As an executive at a major Hollywood studio, I had need of nothing. I was known to many as being on the “God squad” but my faith had become lukewarm over time through many compromises made in pursuit of advancement. One morning, I awoke to a vision: I found myself walking on top of a “lukewarm” fence that separated two entirely different ways of life. On the left side of the fence was a typical Hollywood party, full of glamorous people hobnobbing around a swimming pool, whom I thought I would like to meet. On the right were two people sitting by a body of moving water, peacefully sipping ice tea and reading the Bible. The body of water on the right captivated me, it seemed to pulsate with life and hummed a beautiful song. Flashes of stunning “pure” light danced atop its gentle waves. Behind me boomed a voice, “Choose.” I have since learned that our choices are spiritual commodity deeply coveted by both good and evil spiritual powers. At the time, my faith had become so numb that I didn’t have a clue who was speaking to me. Again the voice boomed, “Choose.” Apart from a burning curiosity about the body of water, my choice seemed obvious. I wanted to join the Hollywood party. I prepared to jump off the left side, when a hand stopped me and said, “Look closer.”

Suddenly the “glitter” faded and my eyes opened. I watched a beautiful young actor dive into the swimming pool. As he emerged from its depths, the water parted and I could see that this man was unaware that he was swimming in a sewer full of poison and death. I turned my gaze to a woman taking a line of cocaine and as she inhaled her beauty melted off her face. My choice was now crystal clear. I leaped off the fence into the pure and life-giving body of water. What I experienced in that plunge changed my life forever. Fully immersed, I watched dark filth filter out of my arms and legs. The water penetrated my entire body, purging out the consequences of a lifetime of bad choices. Absorbed in the presence of Jesus Christ, I knew I’d never leave Him again. When we fully immerse ourselves in God’s ways, we find everything we need and desire. Lukewarm complacency and not accepting God’s love and grace, rob us of power, love, life and liberty. The river of God’s love and grace is available to every one who believes. Jesus prepared it for our restoration, healing and growth. It gives light, life and supernatural power to everything it touches. If you’re still on the fence like I was back then, take the plunge with God. You’ll discover that the “glitter” will fade on the things of this world that only bring heartache and death, and you’ll experience the pure love of Jesus Christ, a love like no other!
