Interschool poetry contest a resounding Success

Stanger Manor Primary School hosted a successful Interschool Poetry Recital Contest on the 31st May 2023, at the school library.

The competition was attended by grade 4 to 6 learners from 13 schools falling within the KwaDukuza Circuit and surrounding areas. Recognizing the need to get back to serious and yet enjoyable academic activities after Covid-19, Manor Primary Principal Dr AP Narain and Departmental Head Mr N Maharaj spearheaded a massive poetry recital competition. The event was expertly managed by coordinators Mr N Maharaj, Ms AV Pillay, and their team consisting of Mrs I Mayakisten, Mrs SP Zungu and Miss A Mkhize.

All the adjudicators, Mr T Sahadev, Mr RR Maraj and Mr AK Diplall agreed the standard was very high. The winners were as follows:

Grade 4: Keandra Chetty (Stanger Manor Primary), Benkosi Nkosi (Dawnview Primary) and Paisley Kanniappa (Lee Primary)

Grade 5: Adaliah Lutchman (Stanger Manor Primary), Shazia Yacoob (Zakariyya Muslim School), and Suhana Ramesar (Glenhills Primary)

Grade 6: Damien Rambali (Lee Primary), Nkanyezi Gumede (Stanger Manor Primary), and Corwin Rampiyar (Glenhills Primary)
