My daughter’s uniqueness was fostered and cherished by each and every member of the incredible Crossroads faculty. She learned to think academically and critically, listen intently and be who she genuinely is: hopeful and empathetic, loving and thankful, happy and open. I truly believe that it takes a village to foster a person. I could not have asked for a more wonderful community to help guide my child to be the greatest version of herself.”

The Elementary School places a strong emphasis on issues relating to social justice. Crossroads gives students the tools to be “upstanders” who speak up for what they believe is right and contribute to their communities and their world.
Inside, our youngest learners experience the thrill of discovery in a diverse environment that values each student’s interests, background and unique point of view. Elementary School credo:

Through studying science at Crossroads, I began to observe the world differently, contemplating the endless reasons as to why and how the life around me came to be. I started to picture the invisible forces around us: the chlorophyll of the trees, the infinite strands of DNA in passersby and my family members from hundreds of years ago who contributed to every detail of my existence. Science and technology enable me to venture into the future with an open mind and a willingness to challenge all that I have ever known. JOSH, 12th grade

Intimate weekly Council gatherings, where
Service learning and community service are essential parts of the student experience, integrating meaningful outreach with classroom curricula. Motivated by their growing understanding of systemic inequality, students engage in community service that evolves from participation to leadership as they move through the School.

EDUCATION (EOE) Students in grades 4-12 connect with the natural world through meaningful outdoor experiences including field trips, ocean cleanup, hiking, camping and whitewater rafting. EOE develops each student’s sense of personal responsibility; leadership and interpersonal skills; technical outdoor abilities; community; and environmental awareness.
“Carrying a 35-pound-plus backpack over uneven terrain, on snowshoes— often uphill—in cold winter conditions is no easy task, but there is no better way for students to see what they’re made of than to truly be challenged: physically, mentally and emotionally.”
