The Jacquot family are no strangers to the Dakar. Philippe Jacquot is passionate about trucks and purchased a MAN truck and prepared it to compete in his first Dakar in 2002. The following year, he finished in 6th place in the truck category. Twenty years on and Philippe’s son, Rudy is at the wheel of this famous vehicle with long-time friend William Alcaraz in the 205. Also in the cabin of the MAN and certainly no stranger to the Dakar is Eric Simonin. Twenty eight years older than Rudy, he knows the truck very
well as he was beside Philippe twenty years ago competing in the MAN. “To do the Dakar again with the same truck, but this time with Philippe’s son at the wheel, that’s a real Dakar Classic.” Philippe Jacquot is entered in a 205 T16 Grand Raid, one of the stars of this Dakar edition and his uncle François is at the wheel of a 404.
