WEDDING SCENE

BATHROOM SCENE: Preliminary Ideas I envision muted, lightly warm grey tones with a muted colorful towel accent. Mainly texture will be used like exposed wooden shelves and beige porcelain candles or a thick shag bathmat. This scene should feel lightly somber and very serious. There will be similarily colored toiletries strewn over the countertops.

JOE’S BEDROOM: Preliminary Ideas There could be one poster crudely nailed into the wall without a frame (Pulp Fiction?). One tack is missing from the edge and maybe a corner has slowly started to flip upwards. I think a simple old brown side table would be perfect to show him reaching for a condom. The main color palette will be coffee inspired browns and earth tones.

LILY’S LIVING ROOM: Preliminary Ideas Mason jar plants could be a start to a repetitive theme (see following rooms). The girls just started living together adn are having fun decorating, but have different styles. The mason jars were a DIY project they attempted and have now found a place in their living room. This is a low budget, but fun and colorful room with contrasting textiles. Because Margaret (dressed in Autumn colors) represents warmth and comfort, the scene will feature warm colors. Also, I have a very large forest tapestry that can be used for a main wall and a few metal geometric hanging lamps that can help to ‘fill out’ the air space of the scene.

JOE’S LIVING ROOM: Preliminary Ideas This space should be very minimal in contrast with Lily’s living room. Maybe there’s one lamp, some brown curtains and a mismatched craigslist couch (probably the one already in the existing room). There is a wood coffee table in the center with many different remotes (possibly a game controller). This will also be a coffee colored room. There is a single large sketchy art print on the wall.

KITCHEN SCENE: Preliminary Ideas The existing kitchen is this perfect subway tiled French Provincial inspired space that needs little to no production changes. The kitchen would be exquisitely tidy with some freshly baked item on the counter awaiting Lily’s visit along with fresh lavender in a jar. Something yellow (like lemon bars) would compliment the lavendar flowers.

Possible Mai apron color?

These are similar to the exitsting colors in the existing space.

JOE’S BEDROOM (MESS WITH BABY): Preliminary Ideas I imagine the room itself to be coffee colored still with the addition of a few feminine touches (carpet, mason jars with succulents on the window sills, and maybe an accent pillow or two). A few things (like the carpet) are brought over from Lily’s apartment. Even better, there could be succulents in empty baby food jars on the window sills. The mess will be created with piles of similarly colored clothing in strategic piles. This will create texture and not just look like chaos. The first thing a girl does to a guy’s space is add accent pillows so those will be poking out under the carpet from Lily’s living room. There is a nice rocking chair in the corner that has basically become another place to hang jeans or similarly colored clothing.

WEDDING SCENE: Preliminary Ideas Since the wedding arch is already set and beautiful, the other colors for the wedding scene will be brick, teal, and burlap. I imagine simple red and white floral arrangements and traditional black and ivory suit and wedding dress. The groom wears a red tie and the bride has red in the soles of her shoes. The ‘maid of honor’ could be in a teal dress if the scene extends to that many people. The teal color could also be arranged as flowers weaved into the wedding arch or teal and white flowers hung from mason jars.
