OPEN AIR SCHOOL ( PROJECT AT UCB FALL 2020 ) Instructor: Lisa M. Iwamoto Site: Mission Bay, San Francisco, CA The strategy of the open-air school proposal is using the rectangular blocks intersecting, shifting, and subtracting to identify the diversion and cohesion of indoor and outdoor space of school.
Plans, Sections and Diagrams Collections
It has a clear boundary that create a clean city edge but a rich content in the central. Two main entrances are sited at the corner of the building, which are the most convenient dropping zone for transportations. The circulation is located in natural lighting. All the programs are aggregated around the loops, with the open-air space adjacent to. The sections emphasize the scales of the space, and the how light getting into it. The multiple levels and the aperture give a very bright atmosphere to gym, library, and cafeteria. All intersected voids in the central not only gives an advantage in creating a safe, giant and cohesive playground on the ground, but also allows natural light access to all programs.

LACMA MUSEUM ( PROJECT AT UCB SUMMER 2020 ) Instructor: Andrew Atwood Site: Wilshire Blvd & S Spaulding Ave, LA, CA
Blending is the key word of this project. The ramp is blending with platform, the large spiral is blending with small spiral, the façades are blending together as a rolling paper, and even the whole building is blending to the site. The project is mainly practicing renderings.

COMMUNITY CENTER ( PROJECT AT UCB FALL 2019 )
Instructor: Elizabeth Bishop The community center is created by the integration of mass and voids. Two main features of this community center: “projection” (offsetting) & “infinity loop” (looped void around the building).

They both have two entrances which open to front yard and backyard. Students have their own space for personal life but also have open space for community life.

SITE ANALYSIS
45%
PRIVATE SPACE
Trails in Golden Gate Park are narrow and organic. The site is quite, natural, and fresh. However, the number of barely two entrances is obstructing traffic flow.
The Kite Workshop maximum retains the organic and natural pathway in park, even creates more entrances that can reduce the crowded flow.

( PROJECT AT CCSF SPRING 2017 ) Instructor: Amly Huang Traditionally, a sukkah is temporary dwelling which represents the children of Israel who wandered the deserts for 40 years; our sukkah is a modern twist and representation for the wandering young adults of City College of San Francisco. Our sukkah is welcome to all types of people and thoughts. Our goal, is for people to find the answers they need and seek just by simply absorbing the natural vibes that our sukkah releases.
TEAM’S PARTICIPATION The strength of the team is each member. The strength of each member is the team.

[ STEP 2 ] - Array points on a base - FlowAlongSrf
[ STEP 3 ] - Draw Triangles on points - Join to be a closed polySrf
[ STEP 4 ] - Copy an object - Boolean Difference
[ STEP 5 ] - Draw Curves then Extrude - FlowAlongSrf
[ STEP 6 ] - Bend the Knight - Draw Crown and Base
This assignment is to work with the class/ team/ side to create a chess set. Analyze the piece to make sure it is watertight with no open edges. Print out the chess piece by 3D printer. I was assigned to design a Knight for the Silver team. My Knight is a diamond house covered with a hollow helmet. It symbolizes dignity and hardness.

CURTAIN WALL HOUSE MODIFICATION
( PROJECT AT CCSF FALL 2018 ) This project is to model and render the Curtain Wall House by Shigeru Ban in Rhino by using all 3d tools that I learned in the whole semester, and modify it like how offices create design options.
SPIRAL STAIR The most challenging part of the modify model is making the spiral stair. Since the stair is located at the corner of the balcony from the roof to the second floor, which people are walking through frequently, the up and down entrances have to be decided in the proper space. At the same time, the design of the stair is the overpass between stability, functionality, and aesthetic.
RENDERING COLLECTIONS
ROOF DESIGN
FACADE MODIFICATION
The roof is an extra credit of the modify design. It has two main communication spaces, one is tatami and the other is modern coffee table. The tatami table expenses the Japanese-style of history, while the hollowed chairs bring back to home of modern world. The facade also creates a protection of security. The roof ground is made of wood, which makes people feel warmer and relax.
The client of this house has long enjoyed an open and free “downtown-culture” lifestyle in this formerly Japanese-style house. The house was intended to be opened up as much as possible and be completely closed for privacy and insulating effect. However, the curtain is easy to turn black as it hangs out all the time. I design a “curtain” facade, continuing the spirit of the previous one but also presenting an advanced modern design. With different angles, the views are intersections of “open” and “close.”
