From Our Home to Yours... Yabal REVIVE is a sustainable artisan home accessories collection, featuring ecological textiles handwoven in the highlands of Guatemala. Revive is a collection of color, representing rebirth and hope for a better future. It reminds us to appreciate the little joys we have in our lives and in our homes every dayto live our lives in a spirit of joy! Fibers include local sheep’s wool, natural plant dyes, raw cotton, and recycled denim jean fiber. Designs are an innovative mix of traditional Mayan weaving and contemporary style. Yabal partners with master women weavers from rural mountain communities providing fair trade jobs and uses profits to fund social programs. The Layers wool rug and blanket collection is handwoven with Momostenango sheep’s wool. The wool is handcarded, hand-spun, dyed using natural plants and minerals, and then woven on the footloom. The Alvarado family has crafted these rugs for over 5 generations, maintaining this incredible artisan tradition.

The blanket has an extra stepafter woven on the loom, it is then boiled, dried in the sun, and hand-felted.
The Diamond throw pillows are handwoven on the Mayan backstrap loom by the Yabal womens cooperative in Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan. This diamond motif is woven brocade work, a traditional design from their community. Diamond designs represent the four cardinal directions, sacred in Mayan Cosmovision. Threads are all eco-friendly, dyed with natural plant materials such as leaves, bark, and cochineal insects. The Blue threads are from recycled denim jean fibers. yabal.org

This Bird motif is woven brocade work, a traditional design from the region. In Mayan Cosmovision, birds represent messengers that can communicate between humans and the heavens. Cotton threads are all ecofriendly, dyed with natural plant materials such as leaves, bark, and cochineal insects. The Blue threads are from recycled denim jean fibers.
