Early Signs Which Hint at The Presence of Dyslexia

Dyslexia is a learning disorder which causes problems in reading, writing and spelling. This particular disorder affects both children and adults. However, the symptoms of this disorder differ for children and adults. There is no specific cause for dyslexia but it can happen due to genetic factors or certain abnormalities in the functioning of the brain. Early detection of dyslexia is extremely important because the condition might worsen if not treated. Well, not everyone has the same symptoms and signs when it comes to dyslexia. Some children might have high levels of dyslexia symptoms but some may only show slight symptoms which may also go unnoticed. Usually, teachers and parents are the first ones to know whether a child has dyslexia. You can opt for therapy for dyslexia online too. However, it is important to detect early signs of dyslexia. Here are some early signs which hint at the presence of dyslexia. 

Difficulty in speaking

A child who is suffering from dyslexia might have difficulty in speaking. Many children might not be able to convey the course of events in their correct order. The child might read at a very slow pace compared to others because of this disorder. Even when it comes to vocabulary the child will face troubles in recognising new words. 

Unable to link sounds with words

Usually, when teachers teach new words to children they start with teaching them sounds. Children suffering from dyslexia are unable to connect sounds with words. They may even get confused with words which have similar sounds. This is one of the earliest signs of dyslexia.



Avoiding things like reading, going to school, etc

Dyslexia brings with it a lot of emotional challenges too. Children who are suffering from dyslexia might not have the confidence to read aloud in a class or might simply give excuses for not attending school. 

Self-doubt and labelling oneself as stupid

A child suffering from dyslexia might not be able to cope with the studies as other students. This can also lead to a lot of self-doubt and loss of confidence. If your child is unable to communicate with his peers and is too conscious then he/she may need extra help. If your child is not comfortable with personal counselling sessions then one should opt for therapy for dyslexia online.
