“THE LIVING GOD” Who is YAHWEH? Strictly speaking, YAHWEH is the only “NAME” of God. In Genesis, wherever the word “NAME” is associated with The Divine Being, that name is YAHWEH. When Abraham or Isaac built an altar, “he called on the name of YAHWEH” (Genesis 12:3, 13:4, 26:5). Reference: The New Bible Dictionary, by J. D. Douglas, page 478. “YAHWEH - The Covenant God of Israel, YHWH, in the Original Hebrew. According to Jewish custom, because of reverence, The Divine name was not to be spoken, so the words LORD and GOD were SUBSTITUTED. Whenever the words “LORD” AND “GOD” appear in LARGE and small CAPITAL letters, the ORIGINAL Hebrew reads YHWH (YAHWEH).” Reference: King James Version of the Bible by Thomas Nelson, Inc. “God’s self, His real person, is concentrated in His name. Unless God’s name is known, it is impossible to have a relationship with Him.” Reference: The Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible, by Abingdon Press, Nashville, TN, page 408. “YAHWEH” is called the Divine Name and the Tetragrammaton, or four-letter word, because it has four letters in Hebrew (YHWH). Most Jewish people will not say “Yahweh”. Instead, they say 6 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
“HASHEM” —a Hebrew word that means “The Name”, or they say “Adonai” —the Hebrew word for “Lord”. Yahweh is also called The Ineffable Name, or The Unspeakable Name, but God’s Name is not unspeakable. According to Matthew Chapter 6 verse 9, which is the Lord’s Prayer Christ said: Matthew 6:9 - King James Version (KJV) “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” Christ gave the ultimate reverence to this one name by conferring the name as Hallowed, which mean “holy”. This is the one name that Christ would come in - to be The Son of this great name -because the Father and Son are One. Since They are One, They must also have one name. Although the name YAHWEH in Hebrew is placed upon various temples across the world, such as the temple (North Yorkshire) shown in this picture, Yahweh’s Name does not appear (even once) in the text of the three most popular English Bible translations on the market today. The King James Bible, the New American Standard Bible, and the New International Version substitutes the titles “LORD” and “GOD” - with capitalized letters in the place where God’s Name - “YAHWEH” actually belongs - the
ORIGINAL Hebrew reads YHWH (YAHWEH). Jewish religious leaders introduced this tradition in the mid-2nd century B.C., and it has continued since that time. This man-made tradition—which achieved nearuniversal acceptance in 1611 A.D. (when the King James Bible editors failed to include the N a m e “ Ya h w e h ” i n t h e i r inaugural edition) — is wrong and dangerous for two reasons. First, it nullifies Yahweh’s explicit command to tell the world that we have only One G o d — YA H W E H . S e c o n d , according to the Bible, YAHWEH is the only name in which we have salvation. Most people that have taken on man’s religion have never heard the name YAHWEH or heard a preacher say it from the pulpit, but research shows that this is the only true name. Matthew 28:19 - King James Version (KJV) “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father (YAHWEH), and of the Son (YAHWEH), and of the Holy Ghost (YAHWEH)” To learn more about Yahweh and the global family of peace visit our website: http:// www.cfycorporate.org and email us at info@cfycorporate.org. Question...
Who is the author of the book that you have in your homes, offices, churches, hotels, courthouses, and that sits on the President’s desk of the United States of America -The same book his hand was placed on when sworn into o ffi c e ? Have you ever considered WHO is the author of this world-renowned book written in more languages than any other book in history? This book the Holy Bible is the world’s standard spiritual resource reference and has single handedly influenced more civilizations, world events, and personal lives than any other book in existence. How can a book of such magnitude have an author whose name is not openly recognized? Well, let’s see what the book has to say about his name. Psalms 148:13 “Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; His glory is above the earth and heaven.” What a powerful scripture here! The Author says His name alone is excellent. Well to any astute and sagacious student of the word I know a bell had to ring in your head. What is this excellent name? All who are intellectually honest will do their 2nd Timothy 2:15 which reads: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” I encourage all readers to go to your libraries search out this truth in the Random House dictionaries, Webster’s, Encarta, Oxford, Britannica Encyclopedias, Bible dictionaries and look this name up: YAHWEH. This is the Name that is excellent above all names and the scriptures bear witness from Genesis through Revelation. Let us read 1st John 5:7: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” The word ONE denotes a single person or thing, in a state of unity or harmony, complete, whole, unified and married.
8 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
“The Three are One”
Now let us reason together: How can The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost be ONE with different names? How can the three be in unity or in harmony with three different names? How can they be unified under different names? Even when a man and woman marry, they become ONE they share the same name. According to John 5:43 The Son - which is described as the Word - reads “I am come in My Father’s name, and ye receive Me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.” In John 14:26 The Holy Ghost has the same name as the Son and it reads “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” So here we have The Father’s name recorded as YAHWEH and the Son’s name is YAHWEH and the Holy Ghost name is YAHWEH which makes the THREE “ONE”: YAHWEH the Father YAHWEH The Son and YAHWEH the Holy Ghost.

Abi’s Commentary
“Marriage is Honorable”
When “two are gathered in my name,” it represents the oneness with the Creator, God Yahweh. Therefore, marriage is an honorable thing unto Him (Hebrews 13:4). The Boss mind, also known as God conscious, knows that to join together in holy matrimony is a Superior act. To co-habitate in agreement with one another signifies love, patience, and happiness. This applies not only for the couple in question, but also unto the world. Marriage is a principle that must be shared with all superior beings. In order for the human race to continue to exist, we must procreate future generations. This means we must produce the minds that will manifest new thoughts, and ideas, that will change our society. When two are gathered in God’s likeness, it produces minds in the image of God, Beings of Superior Status!!! The world in which we live today teaches “individualism,” which is opposite of being in harmony and on one accord. As a result, it is a subliminal message to people that singleness 12 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
of mind is superior. On the contrary, it is directly against God’s plan. When Adam was created, God saw that he was alone and He made him a helpmeet to help reproduce the thoughts of creation (Genesis 2:18). Through the intercourse of a male and female, they produce a new baby, whom grows into an adult to reproduce many more babies. This is how we evolve into perfection. Marriage shows commitment, endurance and devotion. Marriage is a holy union, a union with trust, loyalty and respect to God and to each other. Being married builds structure. A husband and wife produce families, which in turn produce communities and social and economic societies. Marriage is a business and should be treated as such. You need committed entities for the success of any corporation. Marriage reflects the relationship we have with God and ourselves, which is God’s plan. “Marriage is an honorable thing.”
“Dear Mother...” Written By: YM Staff
I am writing this letter to tell you that I am moving out. I know I’m only fifteen, but Jackson will take care of me. Oh, I know you don’t know him. You don’t know me either. By the way, I’m three months pregnant. I guess you would know if you were paying attention. You are so absorbed in your own problems. I’m sorry if I am out of line, but somebody needs to tell you. You say I should focus on school, but you can never help me with my problems. All I see is different men taking care of us and I’m tired of being in and out of their homes. I guess I’m following in your footsteps. Anyway, that’s why I’m moving in with him. He gives me anything I want. He loves me more than you anyway.
Who’s truth is this? It’s someone’s reality. Someone has just found out that their teenage daughter is pregnant. Why does this happen? It happens when we forget to teach by example and by constant interaction. We as mothers must remember that we are obligated to God to ensure that our daughters are not given over to the wind and wiles of society. As a mother, your personal problems are secondary to her primary needs. At the end of the day, some one will teach her about life. It will either be you - her mother, who will have her best interest, or it will be the men in the streets. It’s your choice. Choose wisely. It’s not okay to allow your daughters to have friends that you don’t know. It’s not acceptable for your teenage daughters to have boyfriends. It’s your obligation to God to guide their focus to school and their career goals, unless you want the above scenario to become your truth. Girls begin to develop into young women and their desires will be based on what they have been taught. If they have not been taught by mother to be chaste, and to be concerned about developing their mind and skillset to function in society, they will desire what they see on television and what they learn from their friends at school. Mother is the influence: either positive or negative, depending on the example being set. Lets love our daughters by keeping them focused on the important things in life. Let’s keep them motivated to develop their brain power. Having an adult relationship is an adult activity, and comes with adult responsibility. Mother, be the driving influence of your daughter’s thoughts. Influence her mind by showing her real life. Don’t live in a fantasy world, trying to “shield” her eyes from the real world. Show her the truth about life, so that she can make wise decisions. If you show her “nothing”, then her mind is a blank canvas for the world to paint upon, starting with men that will give her every naive desire of her heart. She will listen to you, everything you do and do not say. If you have a friend or sister that’s better at being the role model, ask them to help. Let them be the influence in close contact with your daughter. It is better that you choose her influences rather than ignore the lack of a positive influence. Our daughters are our future, and they need you, to do your job. YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM | 13

LIVING A DRAMA FREE LIFE
“BOOM!” An Excerpt from “Living a Drama Free Life” By Debowrah B. Yahweh One morning I arose out of my bed. I looked at the clock, realizing I was right on schedule. I slipped on my slippers and pranced into my closet to select my business attire. Then, I proceeded to perform my morning routine. I showered, took care of my personal hygiene, put away my sleepwear and made my bed. I looked in the mirror to ensure that my appearance was perfect. I walked downstairs to the garage while grabbing a banana on the way. I got in my car and turned on the ignition. I have a full tank, no need to stop before I reach my destination. It’s the hustle and bustle, many call the rat-race. I hate traffic, yet I manage to be in it somehow every single morning. I zoom pass by downtown. People are standing on the bus stops, waiting for a overcrowded bus to arrive. I’m still driving - passing by alleys
where I see a man digging out of the garbage that looks like he may not have bathed in quite a while. I keep driving, and I see a woman sitting on a bench with a bunch of bags. She looks like she has no where to go, although she has hospital bands on her hands. With blackened eyes, and a story to tell, just like every one else I pass every morning. I have become numb to these visions because I see it every day. It’s amazing I haven’t gotten a speeding ticket yet, but, then again, everyone drives crazy down here anyway. It is the same routine, I travel the same routes to my destination on a daily basis. I’m at a red light, in the warmth of my vehicle, on my way to work, irritated by the inconvenience of this light - because I have somewhere important to be right now. All of the sudden, BOOM. YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM | 15
I wake up in a hospital bed, with surgical wrap all over my body. I have slings holding my legs up in a uncomfortable position and I am turned halfway to the side. I feel like I am watching a movie. I see doctors all around me as a specialist comes in with a piece of equipment that resembles a chain saw. I have no idea why he needs that, and no thought of it touching me occurs. I try to turn, but I cannot move. All I can see is him walking towards my left side as I hear the doctors say “We have to hurry so we can get him to the O.R.” It is at this moment that I realize that something is terribly wrong, or maybe something is terribly right. I then I feel extreme heat of the chain saw next to my neck that I cannot move. The doctor says - wait - he’s conscious. He maneuvers around to the other side of my bed to see my face and to ask me questions. “Can you hear me? Blink twice for yes.” I blink twice. “Do you know where you are? Blink twice for yes.” I blink twice. He says - “Ok, up the morphine dosage.” He steps back to give the signal to the other specialists, who then proceeds to numb my scalp to cut through a metal piece that has been lodged through my skull. I was unaware that it was there until I felt the saw tugging. Suddenly I begin to think this is even more serious than I thought. He is actually sawing a piece of “something” out of my skull! “What has happened to me? Ok, ok, think - think - think.” I was sitting in my car at a red light. The light turned green, and I went into the intersection and everything goes blank. I cannot remember anything else. I then replay everything over and over again in my mind. I am combing for details, trying to see what I missed. “Clamps! She is going to bleed out! Nurse, get me clamps quick!” “Oh God. Am I going to die? I can’t afford to die yet, I have too much stuff to do. I missed an really important meeting this morning, I can’t stay here longer than a few days.” Apparently it still has not sunk in fully. I am looking at the reflection in the window and I see this large metal piece that looks like it came from a car, namely mine, with blood all over it, being placed into a bag. “THAT WAS IN MY SKULL!” Suddenly, I am being raced down the hall to the O.R. I don’t know what to think. Those frivolous thoughts now are of the wind. I am asking God “Why am I still here after seeing what was cut from my 16 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
brain. Why did You save me? I don’t deserve to live, oh God, but I want another chance. Oh God, please give me another chance to acknowledge You in all that I do. I know I have been selfish, I know I have been undeserving. Please, I just want another chance to be a positive influence on someone’s life. I want another chance to change my attitude. If I don’t get out of here soon, I will be on the verge of being that woman with the bags I saw earlier, or the man that was digging out of the garbage can. Please show me my errors. Show me my faults, so that I may correct them and be your example. I will cease being impatient over little. Most importantly, I will never forget to acknowledge You and thank You again for all that You have blessed me with, for without You, Father, I am nothing. Suddenly, I awake. It was all a vivid dream. A warning, an omen. I sit up and reflect. Life isn’t so bad after all. All of my problems have ceased to exist. Nothing but death (spiritual) could be worse than that situation. I didn’t acknowledge God in my daily routine. God was no where on my mind. That’s a recipe for disaster in anyone’s life. I began to speak to God: “Father, You have the power to bring me to a total conscious yet paralyzed state. I have been consciously paralyzed. This is a representation of my spiritual progress, but O Father I am ready to change. Help me, guide me, and thank You for being so merciful to forgive me. I realize You didn’t have to allow me to awake this morning. You didn’t have to tell me that my lack of appreciation caused me to be an accident waiting to happen. I am ready to listen and obey You, for nothing else matters. Thank You, I appreciate You and all that You have blessed me to do in my life. Selah.” As you read this story, many questions may arise in your mind. How does this story relate to living a drama free life? Why is this story being told? Is it a true story? It is someone’s truth. It may be your truth, or maybe someone you know. Living a drama free life involves an awaking process. It was once stated in a movie that people will only embrace change when their life is at stake. I rephrase that thought to say: “People may embrace change when they are conscious that their life is upside down, they are the cause of it, and they have the power to fix the circumstances.” That phrase still carries yet only a “maybe.” Certain people reject anything that feels
like it takes them out of their routine, social status, or habitual way of thinking. Thus people must be forced into change - and then, they only “may” change. Here are some prime examples of this phenomenon in action on a daily basis. Cigarette labels clearly tell us that smoking is dangerous. Some people smoke. They attract lung disease. They stop smoking, get a lung transplant, and then start back smoking. They end up in the hospital, and ask their visiting lovedones (who are worried about their potential impending death) for a cigarette. Here is another example: Lady T consumes certain things that are known to cause certain illnesses. Her diet is based on the notion that “too much of anything will cause an illness,” and in her mind, she doesn’t consume “too much”. Lady T goes to the doctor to learn that she has contracted pancreatitis, a disease noted by many professionals and scholars in the medical field to be associated with excessive alcohol consumption. He prescribes medication and tells her not to drink. She takes her medicine, and is symptom free for two years. Then, she starts drinking again. Cancer, or pancreatitis did not stop our individuals in these examples. They continued to do so, knowing that it will kill them. Why is this? They had no desire to change. What if God walked the planet, and was your friend? He would tell you things, such as how to improve your life, health, marriage, and business. The question is: would you listen? Or would you ignore Him and ask Him for help at your hospital bed? He would give you the wisdom long before the condition maturates - as a health and preventative measure. Many would ignore Him. Some would even have the audacity to ask for guidance and ignore it completely. What is the phenomenon that takes place in the mind that would cause a person to knowingly and willingly ignore or neglect to apply wisdom that will help them live a better quality of life?
The truth is, God is in all of us. We know innately what is good for us and what we should refrain from consuming, doing, and how we should behave as a civilized person. We know when we are being a bad husband and wife, although sometimes it is out of spite and we don’t care at the moment - a habit that turns habitual and ends the marriage in misery. Your wife may give you good wisdom, expressing something that will benefit you and the household, but you hit your “internal mute button” because you feel as if she is nagging or complaining. Years later, years of not listening, now you have a financial situation that you cannot solve alone - and your wife does not desire to assist you because you ignored her for years expressing how to solve the problem. Her position is - “You wouldn’t listen to me, so apparently you have the solution.” Some of you may say “That’s not a good wife”, but did you know that is how God views us? When you ignore that still voice, that says “I shouldn’t eat this”, and you are hospitalized for food poisoning, that is God’s way of telling you - “You should have listened to Me.” All you will think about is “I knew I shouldn’t have ate that, I should have listened to myself.” When you have situations in your life, you must be optimistic, and open minded, always looking at the positive and appreciating your blessing. This is the foundation to living a drama free life - learning to be at peace and thankful for every situation, good and bad, and causing your mind to think and believe all things are good. You must know all things are good - as there is always a life lesson in even the most grim circumstances one can encounter. “Living a Drama Free Life” written by Debowrah B. Yahweh is scheduled to be on shelves in stores October 2013.

“The Elephant in the Room” By: YM Staff
Day in, day out, you go about your daily routine. You and your wife barely sleep in the same room, but according to the neighbors, you’re the happiest couple they know. You can play pretend all you want, but there is obviously something wrong. Maybe you’ve grown so immune to the scent of a wild Elephant hanging out in your lavish living room, that he even blends in with the furniture to you now. Then again, you are smart enough not to invite anyone else to your house, because it smells so bad. Yo u r c o n n e c t i o n i s s o o f f balanced that the tension would be seen ten miles away. How long will you go on pretending that there is not a problem? Marriages often end in divorce because of a gross ignorance of the elephant - the large, smelly
elephant - which stands between them and affects their livelihood. What is your elephant? Perhaps it is communication. Maybe you feel as if you cannot talk to your mate they way you would like to because they blow up about every little thing. Maybe they’ve simply grown into a person different from the way they used to be when you were first together. These changes cause you to put up your own barriers, and he or she is unconscious of how they have changed in your eyes. All they see is your barriers, which causes them to have barriers. Either way, it is a recipe for a marriage ending in disaster. If your love for your mate is worth saving your marriage, you must each learn to cater to each other’s needs. This also means that you must learn to talk to your
mate in a way that is not offensive to them. You must also readily receive the words of your mate; they are your eyes that you need to use to truly “see” yourself. You may think your character is showing one way of being, living, acting, etc., but your mate can tell you what you are showing. Your actions are the way others see you. So, don’t judge your mate by what they are showing, unless you want your mate to hold your faults against you. Love is easy. The answers are in your heart, and demonstrated by your willingness to love, forgive and encourage your mate. Open lines of honest, loving, but straight forward communication eliminates elephants in your room.

EL Original Don Perez
We are here with El Original himself, Don Perez. He is a world-renowned reggae artist, who also sings reggae music in Spanish. In this interview, you will take a swim in the pool of this musician's heart. A heart that pumps pure music straight from the soul. This man lives, eats, and breathes music. If you appreciate good music, you will make it a point to stay in tune with Don Perez and every move he makes. YM's very own Trinity had the pleasure to have a heart to heart with the legend himself. Visit www.cfy.tv to view the complete interview. Enjoy! YM: If you were to introduce yourself to the world, who would you say Don Perez is? DP: I am an international artist; I am Spanish, African, Taino Indian, and Puerto Rican. Music is my life and music is what I do.
YM: How did you learn how to speak patois so well? Not only know how to speak it, but you also know the ins and outs about the culture. Not just the Jamaican culture, but also the West Indian Culture period. How did you become so fluent? DP: When I started in the 80’s I was introduced to a gentleman named Kaya. His name is Avon Buchannan. He was the leader of Kayana Movement Band. I started living with him and I just adapted. I’m like a sponge. I soaked it all up. I moved into his house and we had the studio downstairs. We used to go to the racetrack everyday at 11. His mother and I had a very wonderful relationship. She used to love me like a son. She would say to me (in patois) “Son, anytime you want food, just go for the food!” Right, and she would say, “Just make sure you wash the
dishes!” So one morning I went downstairs and there was no food in he pot. So I went in he living room and I yelled in “What’ happen’ to di food!” I said it in patois and I didn’t even notice it. Everyone in the living room pointed at me and started laughing. So tell me ah next sometin’.What’s the next question? YM: Let My Music Play. That should be the first single. You know that right? DP: Well I love that song. I wrote that song because I was getting so much havoc. People wouldn’t let me, like, do my music. You know? They would say “You have to do this kind of music. You have to do that kind of music!” I said “Nah mon. Yah afi let my music play!” So that’s how I came up with that song there. It is a very inspirational song. I came in the studio with that feeling like I YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM | 21
version. We eat the same foods. We both eat plantains, rice and beans and every other tropical food. They just cook more with curry. It’s a very similar culture just in a different perspective. You can take a musical note and invert it. That’s how it is. wanted them to let my music play. I put the music together and it came out a nice piece.
YM: Even to this day, would you say your accepted by Jamaican community?
YM: How about “Frontline”? These are my two favorite tracks right now.
DP: To be honest with you, I’m amazed at the reception that I get from the Jamaican crowd. When they hear my name they react. Their like “Yes mon!” What really humbled me was when I saw true Rasta Men, the BoBo Dreads, coming out to see me perform. It wasn’t just one or two. It was a bunch of them that supported me everywhere I went.
DP: Well “Frontline” is a song I wrote because I feel like I’m on the frontline when it comes to music. It’s a revolution when it comes to music. My background is a Spanish background. I have embraced the Reggae music so much that it has become big part of me. I remember when I first started back in the eighties when reggae music in Spanish wasn’t popular they would say to me “You can’t do that. You’re not Jamaican. That doesn’t sound right. ” Now look at it. It’s like the biggest thing around. YM: What’s the connection between Puerto Rico and Jamaica? DP: Well the connection for me is music. It’s basically the same cultures in a different 22 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
YM: You don’t only play Reggae music, you also play salsa music? DP: My forte is Cuban music. La Rumba! I love the Cuban ballads, the salsa, and I love the jazz. I can go from one music to the other. One style t o t h e o t h e r. That’s why I can
mix the Reggae with The Salsa. I can mix the rhythms together and they sound good together. YM: What advice would you give to young people about life? Pertaining to life in general how to get forward. DP: Believe in yourself. If you’re an artist believe in your art. If you are a bricklayer believe in your brick laying. Music has made me humble. I love music the most because music is so spiritual. It’s what’s inside. Whatever you do, really be the best at it. If it doesn’t work at first, keep trying because it’s not easy. YM: What can we expect from Don Perez in the near future? DP: Salsa, Reggae, All kinds of music. For bookings email donperezbookings@gmail.com
Touch Tone!
TOUCH TONE
THE WORLD’S #1 BLIND DJ YM: Whi is DJ Touch Tone? TT: DJ TouchTone? I am DJ Touch Tone. The worlds number one blind DJ. YM: I heard you mention before that being blind is a gift? DJ: It’s definitely a gift. I don’t look at being blind as impairment. You know, it’s GODs gift that he blessed me with. In life you’re dealt a deck of cards. So either you’re going to sit at the table and keep the hand of cards in your hand or you’re going to play the hand that’s dealt to you. So to me, it was always like, I’m in a position to where I can’t see, so how do I make it work? I believe in playing the hand that’s dealt to you. I wanted to be like the next man. Getting up and getting a job. A government handout was not my thing. YM: When did you first realize that you were actually good at DJing? TT: I really perfected the art of DJing at the age of 16 when I got my first pair of turntables. I came home from school, did my homework and went straight to the basement to practice. YM: What was people’s reaction of you DJing? TT: At first a lot of people hated it. But I’ve always been the type of person that if you tell me no, I’m going to show you why you’re going to tell me yes. Now a lot of people are in awe. A lot of people who were naysayers come up to me now and tell me that I did it. There are some people that respect it and there are some that don’t. YM: As far as the DJ art nowadays, how would you compare it from back in the day to today?
24 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
TT: Back in the day, I was one of those DJ’s. I sat down and timed every records beat per minute. I sat down in my basement and counted beats. Now, they have programs that count the beats per minute down for you. I say sit down and study and master the art of a DJ. YM: Would you say the DJ scene is more competitive or more of a brotherhood? TT: I would say it’s a combination of both. You have the brotherhood of trying to build each other up. Then you have some that feel like it’s every man for himself. YM: What was your first major gig? How was your road to where you are now? TT: I started in the basement, local parties, radio & local clubs. From there, it went from radio and clubs to arenas. Sold out arenas! Recently, I played at Wembley Stadium in London with Teddy Riley and Blackstreet. YM: When did you start traveling overseas? How did that happen? TT: Teddy Riley and along with Blackstreet called me and asked to do their gig in London. I didn’t believe it at first, and then I got the email with the intinary and where I’ll be staying. Once it came I was like WOW. I couldn’t believe it. My first international flight. I go from Philadelphia to London, I couldn’t believe it. YM: What has been your favorite music to play? TT: I am an all around “music junkie”. I can go all around the board with music. I like to take a music journey back in forth from hip hop to R&B to old school hip hop and R&B to house, over to the
crossover music. I love going all around the world with it. YM: How do you feel about the Dub step and Trap music? TT: I’m still doing my homework on it. I want to perfect it before I can play it. I’m still studying it. YM: Earlier you mentioned about age, do you feel most DJs are older or younger? TT: It’s a combination of both; you have some younger DJs that have ear for music. Then you have older DJs that have way more experience. You have a lot of younger DJs out here that don’t listen. YM: With the music industry, how long have you been DJing? TT: I’ve been DJing for 23 Years... 15 of those 23 Years I’ve been doing radio. Almost 16 Years. YM: What radio stations have you played for? TT: Here in Philadelphia, I played for when it was “103.9” then it moved to “100.3 The Beat” then it moved to “100.3 WRNB”. YM: what would you say some of the pros and cons in the industry? TT: The pros, I would say that I came across a lot of great people that have very creative minds. I’ve come across geniuses that think outside of the box. The cons, I would say is there’s a lot of hate in the industry. There’s a lot of
favoritism. There’s a lot of fakeness. YM: When you say fakeness, do you mean people trying to connive you, or people who act like they are somebody that they aren’t? TT: It’s all of that. You’ll see on the outside that it looks like they have it going on, but really they don’t own any of that, everything is rented. You also have those folks that when you’re doing something they want to see what you’re doing so that they can take advantage of what you’re doing as well. YM: How difficult is it for an upcoming artist to get their music played on the radio? TT: First off, there are a lot of artists out there who have buzz without using radio. The Internet is powerful. Now that music is digital, all you have to do is click and send. My best advice would be to build your buzz up virally. You really shouldn’t depend on radio to play your song anymore. Now, there are so many other outlets besides local radios.
YM: How can someone get in contact with you for bookings, information, etc.? TT: BookDJTouchTone@Gmail.com www.instagram.com/ DJTouchTone215 www.Twitter.com/ DJTouchTone215 www.Facebook.com/ IamDJTouchTone www.DJTouchTone.com YM: What advice would you give to people? When it comes to having that drive to what you want in life? TT: Know your self worth. Before putting yourself in a situation, ask yourself, “Am I a liability in this situation or am I an asset?”. For people who have challenges, and everybody has challenges, don’t sit in a corner and have a pity party for yourself. Telling yourself, “I can’t” is like saying, “I won’t.” My thing has always been “I can” and “I will”.
YM: Would you the same for upcoming DJ’s? TT: DJ’s should use the Internet just like artists do. Absolutely. YM: Do you feel the art of DJing gets move love here in the U.S., or overseas? TT: Overseas. There’s more money in it overseas and more respect is given overseas. There are bigger crowds that have a better appreciation for it outside the U.S. YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM | 25

S%lful Return of
Karyn White
Karyn White has released her fourth Album entitled “Carpe Diem”. It was released in March 24, 2012, with the lead single being "Sista Sista". It also featured a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s number-one hit song "True Colors". It is her first album in seventeen years. The soulful Ms. Karyn White discusses life before and after her comeback with Yahweh Magazine.
KW: Wow it's a blessing. Anytime you do something, you want to be appreciated for it, but I don't take it for granted especially in the entertainment industry. I don't think we really appreciate our legends like we should. The music industry it applauds people from today, as opposed to yesterday. So, I'm being received very well, and I'm thankful and grateful.
YM: We will be having a Sister's Talk with the Queen who has truly been through the storm, trials and tribulations. Which clearly makes her a superwoman. So we're going to slow down with her, because love saw in her heart, to take out the time of her busy schedule. She has a sultry voice, smooth as silk, which will bring the tears of joy to the hardest of h e a r t s . To n i g h t , tonight, I can stay with you as long as you are thinking about love, because this wonderful sister is love. Brothers and sisters, kings and queens, she is internationally known, foreign and d o m e s t i c a l l y. I ' m talking about none other than the great Karyn White.
YM: Yes you are. We actually met last week, and we embraced each other, and you are loving, caring, and very approachable. I do want to thank you for that, because as a result of that we are here to day. So again, I do want to thank you for embracing me and allowing me to do a cover story of you for our Yahweh Magazine. I understand you are doing a reality show. What is the reality show about?
KW: How are you? YM: I am wonderful and thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to entertain us this evening KW: Oh it's my pleasure, and I love the way you put together all the titles of my song as you made your introduction. You just named about 9 different songs of mine. So that was really cool. YM: Being gone for 17 years, how does it feel to come back and know that your fans still love you?
KW: Well it's called Married to God. It’s about different women from different walks of life. Some are in the entertainment i n d u s t r y, C E O ' S , heads, attorney's etc. I would call them renaissance women that love the lord, and still keep their faith. It shows how you can do that and still be successful. We haven’t actually started shooting yet. Everyone needs to see it. I think it's a great concept. Especially knowing the struggles that most women go thru, especially when one is successful in the entertainment industry. There's a lot of temptation. I say pride probably being the number 1 temptation. You have so many people that edify you. You know before pride cometh the fall. It's very important that you understand it's a gift. How do you deal, how do you strengthen yourself, how do you deal with all these issues? So that's pretty much the concept of married to God. YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM | 27
YM: Beautiful, it sounds great! Your music is so soothing. Very Jazzy. Very sultry. You haven't aged at all. You still look the same as you did 17 years ago. How do you manage to keep yourself up? You look fantastic! KW: Thank you I know it sounds corny, but I believe that it comes from the inside out. The fact that I've been really walking with the Lord and my spirit is humble. I really understand what life is about. When you don't have that bitterness and that unforgiveness that eats away at your heart and who you are, that's the biggest thing. Being happy and disciplined. Being a disciple you want to be disciplined. I try to eat right and be healthy. I also have a trick that I was taught by an esthetician that involves putting ice on your face. So I put ice on my face twice a day after I wash my makeup off. YM: Oh really? I'm going to have to start doing that! KW: Yes, it's a really great secret. It shocks your face and tightens your pores. It keeps your skin tight. YM: Ok wonderful. Thank you for that. YM: Are you still working with LA Reid? What producers are you working with? KW: Yeah I have a whole new team. I’m working with Derrick Allen from Sacramento. Actually he has a number one song right now with Anita Baker. “Have I told you I loved you lately?” Actually he produced my whole album. A lot of underdogs. For now I’ve been very fortunate. I’ve worked with some of the greatest. My ex husband, Terri Lewis, Jimmy Jam, Baby Face and Dean Medina. I’ve worked with some incredible people. I know talent, and I’m a talent finder. I’m just excited to represent people that I believe should be the next guy. Somene has to give them a chance. YM: Is it easy working with Derrick Allen? KW: Oh yes, he’s incredible. That’s why he did the whole album. We started back; he was in my band back in the day. And you know he was Bobby Brown’s tour director back in the day. He just developed into an awesome producer. I’m not 28 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
afraid to take a chance with people. He’s just an incredible musician. It has a live feel but yet it’s contemporary. YM: Are you releasing the album under your own label? KW: Yeah! I just did a distribution deal with EMI. Karyn White Enterprises with EMI as my distributor. I’m seizing the day in everyway. Coming back I was turned down by record companies. They didn’t know if people still remembered me. That’s why this really means so much to me. We didn’t stop. We did it. Right now we’re number 48 on the charts. We’re competing as a small independent company. I’m just excited to not just put my album in a record company’s hands, I’m doing it myself and I believe in myself. I think the internet has opened up doors to where artists and entrepreneurs can really have a say so and drive their own careers. As long as you are willing to do the hard work. Now I’m telling them that I’m just going to show them and “I’ll see you guys at the top.” I’m not going to stop. I’m seizing the day. YM: That is so awesome. I’m getting chills by listening to everything that you are saying. I can tell that you have one hundred percent in yourself. You have the confidence and I really appreciate that. So you’re taking advantage of this brave new world now with the Internet and the way technology is moving? KW: Oh yeah, social media. It’s so cool. In the record business, only 1% really make it. Just because you’re with a record company doesn’t mean you’re going to be successful. There are a lot of people who have a label deal, but you never hear of them. I’m just excited where the world is today. They’re doing it themselves. They are learning how to do business. They aren’t waiting for somebody to say they’ll sign you. Artists are saying “We are going to go out here and do it.” It requires so much faith. It’s a really hard gig. You have to keep believing even when it looks like it’s not going to happen. Your almost there and you should never quit. If you quit, it will never happen. Just hang in there. You have to go after your dreams. There is no choice. If you quit, you’ll never know. YM: Yes. You just answered my next question. I was going to ask what advice do you have for any
up and coming artists? There you have it. You already answered that. Just have that faith in yourself. KW: Oh, I know right. I’m just going ahead. YM: This is awesome. I feel your excitement. You are just ready to seize the day. So far, how do you feel you’re being received by the world right now? KW: It’s slow. Before I took off so fast. I look at it and I say fast and frivolous. Now it’s slow and steady. I’m really excited about the way it’s happening. I just came back from Japan doing concerts over there. I also just released an album in South Africa. I’m doing it in a small way, but like I said, I own myself. There’s so much more joy this time. Before I was with Warner Brothers, and it’s just a different day. I’m being received well. I think people are just glad to see me. Seventeen years is a long time to be away. YM: Do you feel more love from other countries? Do you get more love abroad than you get from home right now? KW: Yes. I put out a couple of records just to let people know I was back. I haven’t gone to radio yet. This is the first single, so now I’m starting to do more shows. It’s starting to pick up. Yes in Japan they love me. In Europe, they love me in London. In the States it’s different. They are more faithful and loyal in the other countries. I don’t know why, but they are.
YM: I believe it has to do with the mindsets and the people’s values. KW: There you go. Exactly! I want to say that I am also training to act. YM: That is wonderful. So, you are digging up your other talents. KW: Everything really! It’s a trip coming back and being older and having the wisdom. When you are young you have your youth, but when you have wisdom, it’s just a whole other level. I’m seizing the day with everything. My acting, my interior designs, record label, and a licensing company that I’m starting. I’m going to do it. I’m going for it all. YM: Are you managing yourself? Or do you have a manager? KW: Oh! My manager is the incredible Jay King. From Sacramento as well. He started a group called Club Nuvo. He had great independent success. He’s my manager. He also has his own network on blog talk radio. It’s just a big family. I’m proud of him. He has 20 jobs and it just inspires me. He has a music industry show for any one interested in being in the business. Monday and Wednesday 7-9 on blog talk radio just type in Jay King. All our contacts are there. YM: We thank very much for you talking with us Ms. Karyn White. KW: It was a pleasure. Thank you.

YM: Please introduce yourself to the world. K: First of all I go by my =irst name Kedash. I let the world know who my father was. He was a member of the Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose. Who later became known as prince Gideon. That was my father. I get all my talent from him. I owe it all to him and Yahweh of course. I always start off by letting everyone know my foundation. That’s where I came from and that’s important to me. That’s part of who I am as well I don’t try to ever forget that. YM: I know you mentioned your father of course. You mentioned your family’s group. Who all in your family sings? K: My father was a member of the Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose. They were all siblings. The group consisted of four of them, two brothers and two sisters. My father was one, my uncle Eddie, my auntie Rose, and my auntie Billie. Growing up people would always tell me that my father was very famous. I hear their songs on the radio occasionally, but I never really grasped the concept of how big they really were. Until one day last year I was watching American Idol and one of the contestants sang my father’s song. !” It was actually the contestant that won who sang the song. I was like “Oh my God!” That was my father’s song. He left a legacy. YM: When did you =irst realize that you were good at singing? K: I was very young. I used to sing for Yahweh. I enjoyed singing for him. I sang at a feast, I don’t know if anyone has it on tape. I was like seven, or eight years old. Maybe even younger, but that was my =irst time singing in front of people. My father really didn’t know that I could sing like that. I wasn’t even supposed to be performing. I went to sister Judith and I told her “I want to get on stage!” It wasn’t even planned and he was like “What are you doing?” I started singing some song. I don’t even know what it was. I was just so happy to sing for God. That’s when my father realized I had talent and he began taking me to the studio with him. That’s when I started developing the craft YM: Would you say your family was the biggest musical in=luence in your life? Are there any others?
32 | YAHWEHMAGAZINE.COM
K: My family was de=initely an in=luence. There were a lot of musicians in my family. I also have a lot of outside in=luences too. I am a fan of Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu and others. I like soulful music. I admire a lot of artists that are out there right now. YM: When did you start breaking into the music industry? K: I was singing background vocals for other artists since I was =ifteen, or sixteen. There are a couple of artists from So So Def Records that I sang background for some of their songs. I got to hear them on the radio back then. I was like “Oh my God, that’s really me!” So, I started getting into my own music at that time. I had a few songs on the radio that people may not even know that it’s me on there. Once I did a remake of a T-‐Pain record that was very successful in The Southern Florida. I took a hiatus to focus on my family. I’m getting back into it now and hopefully I will be very successful. YM: Are you working on any projects right now? K: I’m currently in the studio working a few projects. I am working on a family project. Something similar to what my father and them did back in the day. The whole family is talented like them. So, we’re working on a tribute to the Cornelius Brothers. YM: Awesome! When do you think we will be blessed with that? K: We’re still working on it. We’re still at the beginning stages. It should be completed within the next six months. YM: Your working in the studio now? K: Yes. I am working on the music that I will be performing at The CFY’s Caravan of Love 2.0 in Miami. I put the Cornelius project on hold for that. I am just narrowing down the songs that I will be performing there. It’s going to be a great show. YM: Do you write songs as well? K: Yes I write also. I write most of my music. I try to have as much input as possible with what I do. That is my goal.
YM: What makes a great studio session for you? What is the atmosphere like? Do you take an entourage with you? Can you give us a visual of what a studio session with Kedash is like? K: I like to take people who inspire me in the studio. Most of the time I go into the studio I never have a clue what I’m going to write about. I just listen to the music to try and develop ideas. I think about what’s going on in the world. I think about the struggles. I write to the music. Most artists can write without listening to the music. I have to have a track that’s going to motivate me. I close my eyes and write based on what the music is telling to write. YM: Are you currently w o r k i n g w i t h a n y producers? K: Right now my brother a n d m y c o u s i n j u s t submit music to me. They produce and work with other producers. YM: What would you describe your style of music as? K: I have so many styles. I love neo soul. I haven’t been able to do it as much as I’d like to. I have done more pop music because that’s what you have to do in order to break in to the industry. If I had to choose a lane for myself, it would be neo soul and R & B. YM: You recently released a hit entitled “I’m Coming Home.” It has been a theme song for a lot of us. It is an instant classic that will be listened to 40 years from now and beyond. That song is amazing. How did you come up with the concept for that song? K: Well remember when I mentioned that when I go to the studio to listen to tracks. That’s exactly what happened. I was asked to perform at a CFY Feast in Atlanta in 2011. I wanted to write a song for the event. I was in the studio with my brother and we were vibing and listening to tracks. I heard that one track and it was like it was trying to say something. All
of a sudden, it actually wrote itself. The =irst couple of lines were so emotional to me because I had recently lost my brother. I really was still emotional about it. The =irst line in that song is “Lord I need you now. I need you more than ever before.” That is exactly how I was feeling at that moment. I had never experienced nothing like that in my life. Just coping with it. I had felt like I would have never been able to make it without Yahweh stepping in to help me. So, that song was me begging for guidance. We had just started going to The CFY Feasts in Atlanta with The Third Day, so I felt like I was home. I felt like this is how we used to be. I had missed that type of camaraderie, that type of relationship with my people. That’s why I felt like I was coming home because we were back. W e w e r e b a c k fellowshipping. I felt like I needed that in my life at that time. That song was very emotional and special to me. YM: How many albums have you released? K: I have released two a l b u m s b y m y s e l f . However, I’m not sure how many songs I have actually been on with people. I’ll listen to s o m e t h i n g o n t h e internet and say “Oh my God. I remember that!” YM: Have you been on television at all? K: I have performed on a few talk shows on NBC and on the Spanish Network. YM: Is there anything else that you would like to add? With your experience in the is there any advice would you give to the young people out there that are aspiring to be in the music industry? K: Always stay true to what you believe in. Never give up and it’s never too late. YM: How can we follow you online? K: Stay tuned in to www.cfy.tv.
The Psychology of Success
Written By: Lisa Bee
Success is the manifestation of manifested your inner desires or goals from being thoughts into reality. Talent must be fueled by passion and drive to sustain, continue or complete any aspiration. One’s inner strength depends much on selfesteem and belief that your goal can be achieved. Building self-esteem is an on-going principle. Being able to visualize your dream causes it to it become a reality. Our strengths need to be nurtured; it keeps our self-image alive. Even the little things count. It is easy to be kind to others; but being kind to ourselves is just as important. Formulate your own idea of what success is; and don’t depend on others to define your success. Get involved with new ventures; such as joining an organization, public speaking or learning a new language or career. Talking about ourselves can be a turn off in some settings, be discrete when talking about personal issues. Taking care of personal needs; for instance, enjoying family and friends is important. “All work and no play, makes a dull person”. Respect for others; including learning how to listen, saying thank you, excuse me and not interrupting people when they speak is vital for success. Productivity is necessary to recognize success. Always remember that procrastination, obsessed with perfectionism and lack of a game plan can stop productivity. If one does not make a mistake during the process, then you may not be trying hard enough.
Colorology Color is so important in our lives today. It controls every aspect of who we are and who we must become, and the people of earth should take a long look at color under a microscope. From the Merriam Webster’s online dic@onary ©2012; the simple defini@on of color is: “a phenomenon of light, or visual percep@on that enables one to differen@ate otherwise iden@cal objects.” The rainbow contains all colors of the spectrum and is used as a visual percep@on: A reminder of the covenant between God and His children forever (Genesis 9:13,15). Given that all colors have a source, we must always begin with that source – which is light! From the reference book: Color from Rainbows to Lasers ©1978 by Franklin Branley (page 1): “…without light there would be no color. Therefore, to understand color one must have some understanding of what light is, how it is produced, how it travels from place to place”. More knowledge is revealed when we understand how light travels; for this is the way we perceive colors! According to page 8 of the same source: “Light is a three dimensional electromagne@c wave. It vibrates at right angles to the direc@on of travel.” From the reference book: The Color Decoder, by Dorothy Kline (page 9): Light waves (or wave lengths) are measured in nanometers (nm) -‐ one billionth (one thousand-‐ millionth) of a meter -‐ and they are perceived by the eye because of nerve endings called rods and cones, which are sensi@ve to par@cular wave lengths or frequencies of light. As can be seen from the spectral measurements shown in a color wavelengths chart, each individual color has its own range of wavelengths. Hence, color is simply light of different wavelengths as perceived by the eye and the brain. Our percep@on of light and color is based on the seamless measurement and interpreta@on of our eyes and brain. The knowledge and wisdom of “Colorology” can be summarized as the eyes and the brain interpre@ng the beneficial colors that each person needs
metaphysically. The color green is one of those powerful founda@on colors that can change the lives of all people. Green is a color capable of producing new ideas, new growth, and a lush and luxuriant state of mind which is why God has come to give us this day in giving us a new name and a new song to sing, by causing us to “lie down” or receive our new minds (Psalms 23:2). The meaning of “green” can be traced back to the original language of the earth using an addi@onal reference: The Strong’s Exhaus@ve Concordance, Hebrew dic@onary. The Hebrew spelling is: רענן , and the English translitera@on is: ra‛ănân. This word is pronounced: rah-‐an-‐awn'; and it means to be green; verdant; by analogy new; figura@vely prosperous: -‐ green, flourishing. The color green is the fundamental color of balance and harmony given to us by God. From a color metaphysical perspec@ve, it is the great equalizer of the heart and the emo@ons, crea@ng equilibrium between the head (mind) and the heart (soul). Green has been the color represen@ng growth, spring, of renewal and rebirth since from the beginning of @me. It rejuvenates and restores depleted energy. The power of green is so essen@al, not only to our own personal well-‐ being, but to our en@re galaxy. Green is connected to elements in space that we cannot see at this @me. Green is a vibrantly posi@ve color that courses through our feelings, gives us the power to love and nurture others and ourselves uncondi@onally. Green influences us to be natural peacemakers, so we must avoid the tendency to suffer for the sake of principle (Psalm 52:8). This color relates to stability and endurance, giving us the faith and the strength to cope with adversity or any challenges that occur in our modern lives (Jeremiah 17:8; Hosea 14:8). Green is the color of prosperity of mind and abundance of soul, of finance and material wealth. It relates to the business world, to real estate and property – as is proven by the fact that “ Mul@-‐million dollar business deals are being accomplished on golf courses around the world every day.” Prosperity receives an abundant emo@on of safety to green (Revela@on 9:4).
