‘Los escachaos’ y ‘Hang Pole’, vencedores de la I Wild Race Ninja Track Playa Blanca

The Wild Race Ninja Track successfully launched on 6 May in Playa Blanca, bringing together more than one hundred athletes taking part in teams and as a relay, in an obstacle race. The tough trial featured a 150-metre course located in Playa Dorada, which was dominated by the ‘Los escachaos’ team, comprising Sergio and Yeray, in the men’s category, and ‘Hang Pole’, comprising Thomas and Diana, in mixed category. Dozens of spectators enjoyed the competitive and effort-packed spectacle in which men and women fought it out to be the fastest to complete the first three stints, on a single circuit but comprising different obstacles. The cumulative times en completar las tres primeras tandas, realizadas en un mismo circuito pero compuesto por diferentes obstáculos, y cuya suma de tiempos clasificaba a las ocho mejores parejas para disputar las dos tandas finales, una primera eliminatoria y una quinta y última tanda correspondiente a la gran final entre los dos mejores equipos de cada categoría.

Tras más de cinco horas de espectáculo, acompañado de juegos de luces y música para animar a deportistas y espectadores, el concejal de Deportes, Ángel Lago, que participó en las primeras tandas junto a Daniel Medina, edil de Igualdad, hizo entrega de los trofeos a los ganadores.

La Copa de Vela Latina del Sur celebra su segunda edición Second edition of Southern Latin-Rig Sailing Cup

Tras la buena acogida en 2021, el pasado mayo arrancaba la II Copa de Vela Latina del Sur con dos importantes novedades: la incorporación de un equipo femenino y un barquillo de nueva construcción.

El Deportes Yaiza – Código Cero, de Virginia Morales, única embarcación de la Copa formada íntegramente por féminas, se ha incorporado gracias al impulso municipal con la adquisición del barquillo y al acuerdo alcanzado con el Club Código Cero; mientras que el nuevo Bernasan 104 es obra del carpintero de ribera Santiago González y propiedad de la familia Santana Cabrera, cuya matriarca, Dolores Cabrera, fue homenajeada junto a Santiago en el acto de presentación de esta II Copa de Vela Latina del Sur.

El calendario de regatas está compuesto nuevamente por cuatro jornadas, dos de ellas celebradas en mayo en Puerto Calero y Playa Blanca, con victoria para El Tritón Clínica Veterinaria Bari y el Playa Blanca, respectivamente, y dos más previstas para el 11 y 18 de junio. El Tritón es líder con 6 puntos, seguido del Playa Blanca (7) y el Guayre Ca’Mario El Granaino (8).

También participan el Playa Dorada, el Isidro y Manuela (Fuerteventura) y los lanzaroteños Pescamar Titerroy, Faina Salinas de Janubio, Archipiélago Chinijo, Escuela de Vela, Pleamar y Guaire. The regatta schedule yet again comprises four events, two of which were held in May in Puerto Calero and Playa Blanca, with victory going to El Tritón Clínica Veterinaria Bari and the Playa Blanca, respectively, and two more are scheduled for the 11 and 18 June.
