Iana Kozak "People are grouping in the city or the community for honesty and practical benefits - is, to put it bluntly; and it is a product of the city, community and cooperation. Firstly, close communication distracts people from the brutal violence and use of force in favor a soft manner, humanity and justice. Good behavior is therefore called urbanitas, its rather meet in the city than elsewhere. In short, the more people hear about their religion, the more convinced there are because they live in front of others: to teach the best examples of justice and of harm impedes shame.. Robert Owen

Kinematic Spacial Structures in urban planning location: Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine status: Master degree (2010) authors: Iana Kozak In the history of world civilization, urban development, created two types of cities - the city landlines and mobile city nomads. The perfect organization of the urban environment over many centuries is associated with unchanged, eternal forms. Architecture was interpreted as a spatial embodiment of a fixed set of spiritual and physical requirements. They determined the search for the ideal of planning schemes of master plans. The inevitable shift away from static, absolute scheme was interpreted in the framework of this concept, as a forced tribute to the imperfection of life, but not as a reflection of its organic nature. 20 century, the information age, has given the city hyper fast, but not sluggish current, as in the past, dynamic, compelling them to continually change, to acquire new functions and expand its sphere of influence, to increase production volume and non-productive activities, attracting to itself the increasing masses of people. Increasingly complex nature of the modern city came into conflict with the inherited inactive planning structure, composed sometimes centuries. All the more pronounced discrepancy between form and content. Social changes, economic changes and scientific and technological changes in society occur at high speed, causing the need for adaptation of urban structures to a qualitatively new requirements transformative, adaptability and mobility in the space time continuum of the city. One way to solve this contradiction may be kinetic spatial structure (KSS). Implementation of KSS in the urban environment can solve many urban planning, architectural and socio-economic problems in the existing building, in the areas of reconstruction and in the territories of new construction. KSS allows: - to soften the contradiction between demand and supply in the urban system - to improve timing obsolescence building - laying the opportunity polyfunctionality and polymorphism - more efficient use of urban areas.
Tube House location: Dnepropetrovk, Ukraine status: Preliminary design (2011) authors: Dmitriy Kozak, Iana Kozak, Anna Listoforova Tube House - the concept of cost-effective housing in intensified urban conditions. A simple form and 1-storey main volume lowers the cost and construction time. With a width of 7. 5 m on the front of the house includes full accommodation for a family of 4 people. The house can be blocked along one of the longitudinal sides. Tube House is adaptive in a complex topography, transforming into ITube House and YTube House. TTube House - house for flat plot. The whole main volume of the building is raised above the ground, thereby freeing up space for car parking and greenery. Itube House – phantom house. The Volume of the building is partially hidden in the hill. At the level of the roadway it's just parking space and air. At the bottom It's formed a family space, hidden from human eyes. YTube House – the house towards the sky. The house is located in a difficult terrain. House "hangs" between heaven and earth: at the top and at the bottom there is only the air.
Graphite Hills location: Berlin, Germany status: IFHP. International competition (2009) authors:Iana Kozak, Marchenko Anna This project suggests one of the ways of Airport “Tempelhof revitalization. Tempelhof was one of the biggest airport. But nowadays it is in the center of developing Berlin. Therefore the task was to connect various parts of Berlin by developing new district. Key points: -to save green fields; -to save runways; -to make traffic free district; -to react to adjoining urban areas; -to adapt the former airport terminal to modern demands; -to accommodate existing relief; -to provide alternative power sources.
Open Fort Leading Light location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands status: International competition (2009) authors: Dmitriy Kozak, Iana Kozak, Anna Marchenko “Leading light represents conception about Open Fort: - to be sign element guiding the migrants; - to guard from intrusion; - to be symbol of sustainability and robustness; - to be starting-point of social life - to be open to variability. Lighthouse in itself is sturdiness and secluded space. So as not to isolate oneself from surroundings and depress them, it is subtracted like peaces of pie to open for views, connections, to interact with neighborhoods. In the same time to attach some lightness, a vector for activities in association with sails.
Kiev. Stitch by stitch location: Kyiv, Ukraine status: International competition (2012) authors: Dmitriy Kozak, Iana Kozak, Anna Listoforova Background Kiev island as patches are scattered in-between two banks. These land pieces have great potential and at the same time face to problems. Conception Main idea is to stitch all island patches like patchwork blanket. Each island is the hole particular world. In consideration of group we mustn't level their identities. Or rather viceversa people can perceive all their variety and display respect. Key points: - Hierarchy of communication threads for accessibility supply. Organization of 3 levels of communication threads: -Main - Public transport (Green tram) thread with sidewalks for pedestrian and bicycle lane -Secondary - Electric car thread with sidewalks for pedestrian and bicycle lane -Local for pedestrians and cyclists - Threads stitching with transport system -Threads distribution in vertical level : -Ground -Elevated -Submersible - Thread density and specialization according to zones of use. - Policy of Energy efficiency . - Eco education program. - Reusing industrial zones for public spaces.

The aim of this work - the creation of functional object in the urban environment. The concept of the proposed project is the idea of creating a kind of stream (as a modern interpretation of the Ershov stream ) - unifying thread that has integrated facilities for families, youth communication, couple, integration of social and age groups, as well as people with disabilities. The idea is implemented as a stream belt changing its shape according to a particular object in a particular area. Simple solutions could be attributed to the social projects and be implemented in kind by participatory construction: “Bring screwdriver!” .

Frunze 35, Rethinking the Industrial Zone location: Kyiv, Ukraine status: International workshop/ Project implementation (2013) http://www.ua.boell.org/web/652-703.html authors:Anastasiia Budnyk, Azadeh Badiee, Bozhena Zakaliuzhna, Dmitry Sivaev, Gabor Nandor, Hanna Lutz, Iana Kozak, Ievgen Bolotnov, Joonwoo Kim, Maura Argiolas, Nataliia Shulga, Oksana Oleshchenko, Olga Konovalova, Olga Shishova, Svitlana Ilchenko, Toni Karge The site of continuing innovation Case Frunze 35 - complex but not unique to Kyiv. Based on the current situation when citizens are not interested in this place, it serves as parking lot; project of the museum of modern art has failed, we propose a strategy of transformation Frunze 35 considering its history as a place of innovation. The goal is to return the Frunze 35 to Kyiv and its citizens as a new attractive public space, open up new opportunities for economic growth, for the formation and development of the local community. In addition, the proposal strategy assumes start of the project in the absence of both financial and human resources, as today there is formed a team that would be responsible for the further development of Frunze 35. We proposed a hypothetical key stages of the project, which may be changed in accordance with the conditions. The main idea of the deployment stages of transformation Frunze 35 - a gradual build-up of scale, from small scale test events to the holistic transformation of Frunze 35 for multi-purpose. Each subsequent stage is based on previous achievements, a process that resembles a snow ball, when all activities are superimposed to form a multilayered and multidimensional content Frunze 35.
