NEW VALUES – NEW PROGRAM
New values, emerging from new agenda of sewing Strelka and sewing Moscow, influence formation of new functional program. It gives the whole new set of relations within existing concept.

SELFSUFFICIENCY New Strelka Institute will be state-of-the-health, energy efficient, functionally diverse campus filled with creative work out zones and and all the needed facilities for working, studying and living.
CAMPUNITY Campunity creates a new Campus Experience: dormitory, communal kitchen, Hub,WelcomeOffice, work outs, etc. Living, working, studying, creating, exercising together, people enhance their sociological, physiological and psychological well-being and develop a sense of belonging to the institute.
CONNECTIONS
Program Strelka to Alumni is aimed to facilitate a lifelong relationship between alumni and the institute. It gives an opportunity for Strelkovites to apply after graduation for 3-6 months scholarship to investigate current urban issues and to make a real project of intervention to any Russian city. Program also suggests post-graduates to involve into collaboration current students and to make publication of the research at Strelka Press.
Plan B is designed to integrate diverse sports to lifestyle of Strelkovites and to bring perfect balance by making its athletic and physical education program an integral part of the educational process without allowing its academic standards to drop one bit. Facilities for diverse sport activities such as fitness, physical exersices, mini-football, basketball, backjump, punching ball, etc. become 24h available at the Campus yard.
BALANCE
PLAYING AROUND
One of the most memorable workshops this year was the one that dealt with Central House of Artist. And mostly due to realism of the case and possibility to reach it by foot. By choosing Luzhniki area for Strelka location we create an opportunity for students to do more such deep fieldtrips. The dwelling area of Khamovniki represents little by little all types of Moscow districts: typical architecture of 20th, 50th, 60th, 70th and current days. That makes this area pretty much interesting for investigation.
FROM WORDS TO DEEDS
Urban Crafting is the place where MARCHI and Strelka students meet to create modified or completely custom products for use in recreation, transportation, construction and communication spheres. The Hub aimed at solving real cases of Moscow districts through students’ practice of research, communication with citizens and establishing contact with city authorities.

WHAT IS CAMPUS? Campus is a place where something is always going on. We don’t intend to design ordinary campus, we propose the space you can visit whenever you want. The territory is located in the main strategic point for prospective development of the campus and neighborhood. The complex of buildings form external open space for installations and other events and inner courtyard which provokes for different activities and workouts. Key elements of the institute like studios, office, KB and new one like Welcome Office are placed in one volume which connects all parts together by central communication tower creating the possibility for interaction and happy encounters between students, professionals, office team and visitors. Dormitory building is connected with it by bridge. In summer it could work as a hostel. Lecture hall is capable to accommodate up to 150 people giving the opportunity to organize more open lectures and meetings. Urban Crafting Bar as an essential part of Strelkas life has additional terrace on the top of the tower to enjoy a vista. Campus is a kind of city within the city which lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

STRELKA ISSUE
Quite expectedly during our research we have found out that Strelka office and some people from stuff perceive Strelkovites as family. But surprisingly it appeared that program and stuff growth inevitably leads to a kind of scattering of the departments and consequent lack of connection. Internal issue for Strelka is strengthening connections within its own inner community. We see the solution in creating Strelka Campus. A unique and united space that is ready to handle any future iteration of Strelka. The area of Campus through its design and architecture, like physical work out areas and constellation of functionally diverse buildings delineate the format of the program that will take place there.

Competition for the Gorky park’s masterplan. 1931 In connection with the decision to join large sections of the left bank of the river and Vorobievy Gory with the Gorky Park, a closed competition for the general plan was held in 1931. Although none of these projects were actually realized the competition provided a great deal of vulnurable material for the park’s further development.
GREEN LOOP
We recognized that the site has lost its connections with the rest of the area due to mono functionality of the buildings and surrounding highways. Issue for Strelka is to sew paradoxically excluded part of Moscow with lively neighborhood and energize the Luzhniki area. Nowadays we have green pedestrian route from Zaryadye till Vorobyevy Gory. We propose to continue this route and make a kind of a loop, which takes Luzhniki and then Strelka as a part of this loop. Our connection with opposite side will be implemented by summer pedal catamaran.

SEWING MOSCOW
FRAGMENTED MOSCOW
Multilane highways and avenues, typical for Moscow, are hybrids of streets and freeways. They are considered to be forced nasty decision not convenient neither for pedestrians nor for cars. According to social scientists, the lack of pedestrian-scale streets disconnects communities. Deprivation and fragmentation definitely plays a role in the general mental health of the inhabitants of any given area. What is interesting, people have less contact with their neighbors and rarely walk unless they treat it as a physical exercise. Steps need to be taken to ensure that these isolated and vulnerable districts are integrated into the rest of Moscow and that they receive the resources and attention they need in order to truly become a part of community.

CONNECTING THE CITY pigeon post
Historically, pigeons carried messages only one way, to their home. However, by placing their food at one location and their home at another location, pigeons have been trained to fly back and forth up to twice a day, covering round-trip flights up to 160 km. As the key element of the space to activate the area we propose to create a dovecote in the high tower of Strelka Campus. At the same time, the destination point for ‘food’ flights locates at the several public yards of the neighborhood. Those neighborhood communities, who are active and facilitate the flights by bringing food, will tame birds and pigeons will come to them more often then to those who does not participate. Moreover, each time when birds fly back to Strelka they bring messages from citizens, and vice versa Strelka sends greetings, ideas, challenges, proposals as well. In this way Strelka may also invite people to public events or, who knows – get the invitation!
