A note from the show Team: “We use creativity, insight and experience to collaborate with teams around the world to tackle what seem like unsolvable problems and come up with ways to explore our universe on a daily basis. I have never been given more broad leeway to use creativity to find solutions to problems than I have here – mostly because no one has any idea how to solve the problems we face! And that is the beauty of this adventure...it is beyond fun!” - Alan Rhodes, Project Manager – NASA i. Vision An innovative mission begins with a vision, a question of “What if...?” What if we went into space? What if we went to the moon? But before humans launched themselves into space, animals took the trip. Among the first were a monkey named Albert I in 1948 followed by the first mouse in 1950. In 2020, LGTTM Co-Creator Nicole E. Lang envisioned the story of a mouse who not only wanted to go into space but be the first to land on the moon. ii. Getting There The process of getting not just into space but to the moon proved challenging...perhaps even seemingly impossible. Then a dog named Laika was the first to orbit Earth in 1957. A decade later in 1968, some turtles, flies, and worms were the first animals to orbit the moon and return to earth. The creation of Let’s Go to the Moon! has been a five-week process. An ambitious feat for the storyboarding, writing of a script, building of puppets and scenery, composition of an original score, music, and lyrics, rehearsal with actors and voice recordings, and the coordinating of these various projects and the technology to support it manifesting on your screen. It’s taken a team dedicated to making magic happen. iii. Arrival In 1969, humans landed on the moon for the first time. However, a mouse has yet to set foot on the moon. Right here, right now, in 2021, will our little protagonist be the first? This process has taught our team that it’s not just the destination but the journey—and those that you take it with—that really, really matters. “This process could not happen without collaboration. Each day is like exploring a new frontier; we find new challenges, and address them with patience, thorough communication, and remembering that at the end of the day we are all here to have fun and enjoy our journey to the moon.” – Brandon Lovejoy, Mission Support Headquarters Operations Administrator - LGTTM
-Benjamin Benne, Space Cartographer, LGTTM
..
A note from the CAB TEAM: The moon is mysterious. It’s always there but far from our reach. The Greeks believed the moon was a goddess, Koreans thought there was a rabbit that dwells in the moon, Nigerian mythology tells us that the moon and the sun are a married couple ascended from earth. Let’s Go to the Moon! is a project aiming for the moon in many ways—full of original songs and music, hundreds of puppets and rapid virtual transitions. But the real value of this production lies in the collaborative spirit where every creative team member became a courageous space traveler, supporting each other on their ambitious journey to the moon without knowing what’s waiting there. Theater itself resembles the moon. It’s mysterious, transforming, and shining. And what really matters is we’re going there together, no matter what the end is. We invite you to board our rocket ship and search for your moon with us! -Cab 53 Leadership Team Maeli Goren, Jisun Kim, Nicole E. Lang, and Matthew Sonnenfeld

Meet the Characters MOUSE Mouse was born and raised in a small room in the NASA lab. Everyday she runs the maze to find her cheese at the end. She enjoys cheese more than anything else she’s ever encountered, and wants to find more of it. Mouse is incredibly smart and a great problem solver due to her training at NASA. She has gray fur, a pink nose and ears, and she wears a tiny pair of glasses.
Woman from Venus The Woman from Venus comes from….. Venus! She enjoys singing, especially about her love- the Woman in the Moon. She is incredibly strong, with four arms that are great for punching stray asteroids from her space-hot-airballoon. She is blue with purple hair and bold eyebrows. She likes to wear a white tee-shirt with a moon on it, a purple and gold shiny skirt, and white combat boots.
..
Meet the Characters Moon Rock Moon Rock thinks that she is a rock that was once a part of the Moon, but for as long as she can remember, she has always just floated through space. She is kind and always thinks about the needs of others. She is a gray rock, with many many tiny holes. She has eyes in the front and back of her head, but her only noticeable feature is her mouth which reflects how she is feeling. gray fur, a pink nose and ears, and she wears a tiny pair of glasses.
Sad, Old Rover Sad, Old Rover is a rover that was meant to land on the Moon, but missed her goal. She has been stranded on another planet for many years. She often talks to Can who is stranded on the planet with her. Rover is very resourceful and curious, she has many maps and tools that allow her to investigate her surroundings and make decisions. She is gray with a bit of rust around the edges. She always sings to the tune of the “Happy Birthday” song because that was the only tune she was programmed with.
..
Meet the Characters Can Can is a tin can found by Rover on the lonely planet. Can is a very good listener, but never speaks.
Rocket
The Rocket that Mouse “borrowed” from NASA. The Rocket is teal with red and silver details. It has a trusty radar system equipped which alerts passengers to any upcoming danger.

Mouse’s Song
Composition by Soomin Kim, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby MOUSE: All my life I’ve spent my days working through an endless maze I never fail to find the path, for I was bred to please. I discover clever routes so I’ll impress the NASA suits I learn the course, I do the math to get my bit of cheese cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. The prize for the go-getter cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. What in life is better? cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. I’m proud to help the team small mouse, small dream here’s my home, this lab, this cage where I make my modest wage what a lucky mouse am I to have such tasks as these every day is much the same, navigating through the frame and if I don’t look to the sky, I win my prize with ease cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. The prize for the go-getter cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. What in life is better? cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. I’m proud to please the team. small mouse, small dream. some days, though, when I am all alone, I’m almost sure I hear a distant call from far beyond the lab that I have known, from places known on posters on the wall what if there is more out there for me? I know there’s only one thing it can be: cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. There must be more more outside cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. I’d find if if I tried cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese. I’m more than I might seem: small mouse, big dream. small mouse, big dream. Small mouse, big dream.
Let’s Go to the Moon! Theme Part 1 Composition by Samantha Wolf, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby
MOUSE: Life is more than just a cage I call my house, stole the keys to NASA’s rocket ship packed my bags, I don’t need much ‘cause I’m a mouse now I’m ready for a cosmic trip. I’m going blasting off through space not knowing what mazes I might face but I need a change of pace. LET’S GO TO THE MOON! Let’s go to the moon!
Woman From Venus’ Song Composition by Soomin Kim, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby
WOMAN FROM VENUS: I’m a woman from venus. I’m meant to love a man from mars there was nothing between us. It wasn’t written in our stars and I thought I was broken. I couldn’t sing a love song tune but then I saw her: the woman in the moon she shone like a beacon. I wanted to be near her light I started to weaken. But felt like she could make me right so I knew I must find her. I drifted off in my balloon towards my lover: the woman in the moon she’s not like any woman I’d known. Venus has no moons of her own but something in me longed for her face. She pulled me like a magnet through space I’m a woman from venus. I’m deviating from the norms but I’ve tasted freeness. I’ll weather interstellar storms I’m not broken, just different. And now I know I’ll find love soon because she’s waiting. The woman in the moon I see her shining. The woman in the moon I’m almost there now. The woman in the moon
Let’s Go to the Moon! Theme Part 2 Composition by Samantha Wolf, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby
MOUSE: I’ve been lonely on this rocket ship in space I’m so glad to have your company WOMAN: Can’t believe that we were bound for the same place I know meeting you was meant to be MOUSE: We’re going to watch our ship ascend. WOMAN: Not knowing when our trip will end BOTH: But it’s nice to have a friend! WOMAN: LET’S GO TO THE MOON! BOTH: Let’s go to the moon!
Moon Rock’s Song
Composition by Samantha Wolf, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby MOON ROCK: All the other rocks I’ve met are all colorful and bright all the other rocks I’ve met have vibrant souls but I’m a shade of grey that isn’t even dark or light and I’m covered by a thousand tiny holes this is just another lonely rock song I sing it as I float through space ‘cause I’m just another, other, lonely rock longing for my place, searching for my place so sing along aloud if you can hear me let me know my signal’s strong find me if you think you might be near me and know where I belong. I just want to belong no one wants to know me, they don’t like when I’m around no one’s ever tried to be my friend I don’t know where I came from, I just know where I was found when I try to think of home, I just pretend “you’re no rock! where’d you get that name from?” they taunt me and tease me when I try to fit in “you’re no rock! go back to where you came from” how can I go back, when I don’t know where I’ve been? this is just another lonely rock song I sing it as I float through space ‘cause I’m just another, other, lonely rock longing for my place, searching for my place so sing along aloud if you can hear me let me know my signal’s strong find me if you think you might be near me and know where I belong, I just want to belong.
Let’s Go to the Moon! Theme Part 3 Composition by Samantha Wolf, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby
MOUSE: Where we’re heading will outshine where we have been It’s so great to have you on the ride WOMAN: I would ask you, little rock, to buckle in, but you’re stuck securely in our side MOUSE & WOMAN: We’re going WOMAN: Blasting past our doubt MOON ROCK: Not knowing what I’m all about ALL: But we’re going to find out! MOON ROCK: LET’S GO TO THE MOON! ALL: Let’s go to the moon!
Rover’s Song
Composition by Soomin Kim, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby Mission’s over, for this rover. It’s so dark here; guess I’ll park here. Nothing left to prove, since I cannot move. I’ll be stuck so long; only know one song. Failure is not an option; how did I go so wrong? How did your mission end? What support did they send? We could sit here together, would you be my new friend? I could use a new friend. You’re unknown here. we’re alone here. since I crashed here, hope was dashed here. What’s your mission goal? Could you make me roll? I’ve been on the mend, with my tin can friend. Failure is not an option; so this can’t be the end. Could you fix me up soon? I was bound for the moon. We could go there together! I could teach you this tune; We could all sing this tune.
Let’s Go to the Moon! Theme Part 4 Composition by Samantha Wolf, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby
MOUSE/WOMAN/ROCK: LET’S GO TO THE MOON! Let’s go to the moon! MOUSE: When I left, I took a spaceship built for one, now I have a crew to fly with me WOMAN: There’s adventure in each orbit ‘round the sun, there is so much of the sky to see ROCK: We’re going watch us as we soar MOUSE: Each knowing, WOMAN: There’s so much to explore ALL: Now our trio’s up to four ROCK: (singing to rover) We went searching but our course was still unknown We’re so glad to have your expertise WOMAN: Doesn’t matter if it’s friends, or cheese, or love to call your own MOUSE/ROCK/WOMAN: It’s too hard to search alone. ROVER: Not an option ALL: LET’S GO TO THE MOON! Let’s go to the moon! ROCK: home at last - MOUSE: so cheesy- WOMAN: I will see her face MOUSE: We can’t miss since we’re together now WOMAN/ROCK: Flying fast and easy soon we’ll reach the place MOUSE/WOMAN/ROCK: That turned four quests into one somehow MOUSE/ROCK: We’re flying since our missions overlap MOUSE/WOMAN/ROCK: We’re trying to steer clear of every trap MOUSE/WOMAN/ROCK: And it’s good to have a map. ROVER: Here’s an option ALL: Let’s go to the moon! Let’s go to the moon! ROCK: To find my own kind on the moon. WOMAN: I hope we get there soon! ALL: Let’s go to the moon! WOMAN: We will get there together ALL: Let’s go to the moon! ROCK: We can face any storm MOUSE/WOMAN: We can brave any weather, I know that we’ll get there soon ALL: Let’s go to the moon! Moon! Moon!!!

Slow Song of Realization
Composition by Samantha Wolf, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby MOUSE: Missed my shot, how could I have gotten this wrong? Thanks a lot, should have never brought you along Fuel’s all burned, I can’t see the moon anymore - my mission failed Guess I have learned, That friends can be fun til they get you derailed Now I don’t have a moon to dismount on, don’t have a friend I can count on WOMAN: All alone, now I’ll never meet my true love As we’ve flown, I tried to find what I’d been dreaming of Look around, we’re bound in another direction - I guess that’s true But I have found, a beautiful kind of connection - with you Though I can’t see the moon any clearer, the love that I craved was way nearer You three are dearer, than any moon ROVER: My purpose was always to go to the Moon, to research and to learn new things. Now I think I may have learned something new here, with all of you. ROCK: Outcast and lonely, in space I had to roam You three, my fam’ly, have made me feel at home I don’t need to know where I started, you’ve made a small rock feel big-hearted WOMAN & ROVER: Sometimes your mission, won’t go the way you planned But with friends in position, you’ll have a place to land MOUSE: I’m so sorry I started to doubt you, don’t know what I’d do without you

Finale
Composition by Samantha Wolf, Lyrics by Alana Jacoby MOUSE: I used to think that life was one big maze, one route to find among the endless ways there’s more than one right path to reach the end, and it is easier, breezier, with a friend MOUSE: when you’re only focused on the prize, you might miss things right before your eyes if you get to spend trips, full of cheese and friendships, who cares if it takes a million tries? MOON ROCK: I used to wonder where I started out, but there are other things my life’s about the place you are means more than where you’ve been, and now I look-a-round and-I’ve-found I-fit-in. WOMAN: when hope and love feel far away. you can go searching, that’s OK but don’t be surprised or slowed down, when the road you’ve tread leads somewhere else instead ROVER: if you’ve only ever sung one song, ‘cause your programming is strict and strong take some time to listen, to what you were missin’, soon enough you’ll learn to sing along MOUSE: so if you’re racing hard to get your cheese whether that’s love or home or pals like these stop for a minute to enjoy the ride, and you might fig-ure-out truths-a-bout friends-you-can’t do-with-out by your side MOUSE & ROVER: let’s go past the moon to see what’s there WOMAN & ROCK: now at last we can go anywhere MOUSE: no more competition, what a freeing mission. ROVER: if we fail I might not even care ROVER & MOUSE: Let’s go past, let’s go past, let’s go past, let’s go past MOON ROCK: Come on, come on now, Let’s find what life’s about yea MOON ROCK: Come on, come on baby! ALL: Come with me, and you’ll see, the journey is really all we need. WOMAN: Past the moon! ROVER & MOUSE: Let’s go past the moon! MOON ROCK: If you just look out your door, you might find what you’re looking for Sit back and enjoy the ride, who knows what treasures you’ll find! ALL: Past the moon!

What’s Next February 26th-27th in-between bitches A Comedy for Zoom Written and Proposed by Abigail C. Onwunali Body image expectations for womxn of color are unattainable, yet we force ourselves to alter our bodies in order to be accepted by the world around us. Am I thin enough? Am I thick enough?
