Imagine an empty stage An average looking internationally acclaimed artist standing on an empty stage and is offering to share his salary with the audience: “who takes half of the stage and half of the money?” This is how we start. About the project Halfbread Technique is based on a brilliant idea that Martin had one day. His idea was a new economy in which everyone loves sharing everything. Martin sends his idea in a parcel to various communities in South Africa. How the economy works? With only one rule, Halfbread Technique, that is introduced on stage using humour, contemporary dance, interaction and money. Halfbread Technique was first introduced to the public at Julidans Amsterdam 2012 and has been touring Europe and Africa since. In 2014 The writer of the play has agreed to re-‐stage it in South frica and gave a local duo a licence to do the tour with a social twist.

Basic details Target audience: Innovative and creative thinkers from all walks of life, high-‐school age to 120. We love intimate events of 40 audience members, but can play with a crowd of 200+ people easily. Venue: We require a stage, a standing mic and audience seats with a view of the stage floor. All the props are coming with us and are of no fuss. Dates: Any time is a good time for a creative social play. Currently we are booking for October –December 2014. Budget: We are about economical justice behind the stage as well as on the stage. In general we operate by two channels of collaboration: (a) a show with self budget; or (b) participating in a tour funding proposal by a third party. Costs vary according to context.
