With permanent drive to the rear wheels, the 2WD system makes Yamaha’s Sport models the lightweight 2WD system delivers agile and exciting performance.

With Yamaha’s On-Command® system, you can switch from 2WD to 4WD on-the-fly, a great advantage that means you can enjoy seamless and almost instant transition from cruising to climbing. This Yamaha-exclusive system is activated by a simple button on the handle bar of Spoprt ATV’s and with an ergonomic dial knob on Side-by-Side models.

All pure Sport ATV’s and Side-by-Sides feature a sequential gearbox offering a direct connection between engine, drivetrain, and driver. The YXZ 1000 Sport models are even equipped with a paddle controlled, clutchless sport shift system for prize winning performance.

The Yamaha EFI system works with a micro-computer to ensure that a precisely metered flow of fuel/air mixture enters the engine’s combustion chamber at all times and under all conditions, to deliver an optimised mix of smooth power and economy.

Yamaha’s speed-sensitive EPS system greatly reduces the physical effort of steering while also assisting the rider control the ATV or Side-by-Side when encountering bumps and stones along the way. This extra comfort is particularly noticeable on longer working days.

All Side-by-Side models have double A-arm independent front suspension as well as independent rear suspension. All our shock absorbers feature an adjustable spring pre-load facility and selected Side-by-Side models are also equipped with adjustable damping. These features help to easily adjust the machine to suit your personal riding style or cargo load and to fine-tune the suspension set-up for optimum performance.

On Side-by-Side models, the Yamaha On-Command® system also features a diff-lock which acts on the front wheels to give added traction in extreme conditions.

YXZ1000R SS

We developed the high-performance YXZ models by drawing on the true racing DNA in the Yamaha heritage. The high-revving Yamaha engine, coupled with the sequential Sport Shift Gearbox is at the heart of this high-performance machine, creating the perfect formula for a genuinely exciting new driving sensation.

With this dynamic model, we have taken off-road performance to the next level, creating the highest specification Side-by-Side ever. Its rally-style paddle gives instant fingertip control for clutchless full-throttle shifting; and with its YCC-Sactivated launch control system used from a standing start, nothing comes close.

Equipped with 29” Big Horn tyres on 14-inch cast aluminium wheels and recalibrated long-travel suspension, the YXZ1000R SS is built to dominate the most extreme terrain.

High-performance 3-cylinder engine

The 998cc DOHC engine is an ultra-compact three-cylinder, 12-valve layout, delivering breathtaking acceleration all the way up to its thrilling 10,500 rpm red line. In fact, it creates a whole new class on the Side-by-Side scene. What’s more, the heat-treated conrods are designed to take further race-tuning whenever you are ready for even more power.

Rear-mounted radiator

For this advanced design, the radiator was moved from the front of the vehicle to high up on the rear cargo area to avoid mud clogging. The twin hi-volume radiator fans provide a massive airflow to keep engine temperature under control in all conditions.

Clutchless Sport Shift System

The Sport Shift system is similar to the design used on rally and race cars, and features paddles on either side of the steering column. The refined and recalibrated electronics mean you can shift very rapidly through the five-speed gearbox using only your fingertips!.

Yamaha Chip Controlled Shift

The intelligent Yamaha Chip Controlled Shift (YCC-S) is the key to the Sport Shift system. The sophisticated YCC-S monitors a series of sensors and instantaneously disengages and engages the clutch when required, for seamless deceleration and acceleration. Clutch shifting and engagement is also faster at lower speed, which improves crawling performance.

High power, big torque

Yamaha 4-stroke ATVs provide high levels of torque even at low rpm that ensures terrainhugging traction, even in difficult conditions. The YFM700R’s engine produces high levels of power and torque, and its fuel injection system gives increased fuel economy and reduced emissions.

Extra-strong hybrid chassis

For the kind of strength that withstands every knock and bump, the state-of-the-art hybrid chassis combines a steel front section with an aluminium rear section and a detachable subframe. For comfortable and controllable handling, there’s a lightweight cast aluminium swing arm operating an adjustable shock with optimised damping settings.

5-Speed transmission with reverse

To optimise the remarkable performance potential of the high powered engine, the YFM700R drives through a slick-shifting 5-speed transmission. Whatever the terrain, this durable gearbox and smooth multi-plate clutch gives you total control while the reverse gear gives added manoeuvrability in tight situations.

Adjustable suspension

The long-travel front suspension is set up with KYB piggybacks shocks at the front and rear, both with fully adjustable Hi and Low Speed compression and single rebound stroke. You can tune the suspension to your personal preference to suit your ride on all types of surfaces. The large 22-inch diameter front tyres soak up the bumps and are precise on your steering input.

The Special Edition (SE) YFZ450R is all about the rush, all about the win and no compromise. Its sharp-handling chassis and ultra-responsive 450cc engine have placed it among today’s number one racing machines of its class, for those truly driven by victory.

A race-bred assist and slipper clutch gives more precise control over corner entry speed for quicker lap times, while the race-bred engine delivers super-fast throttle response and hard-hitting high rpm power for holeshot-winning performance.

Sharp-designed bodywork gives the rider space to shift their bodyweight during cornering or hard acceleration; and the lightweight piggyback shocks make for razor-sharp handling!

Race-bred, high-performance engine

The YFZ450R SE’s race-bred five-valve fourstroke 450cc engine features a compression ratio of 11.8:1 and high-performance camshafts for instant throttle response and race-winning high rpm power. The Air Induction System gives high fuel efficiency, reduced exhaust emissions and increased durability.

Electronic Fuel Injection

For sharp throttle response the YFZ450R SE is equipped with a 42mm Mikuni throttle body which includes an Idle Speed Control (ISC) system for easy and reliable starting and warming up. This advanced system delivers instantaneous pick up and contributes towards reduced emissions.

Hybrid chassis engineering

The YFZ450R SE uses a special combination of aluminium and steel in its frame and swingarm construction, and this innovative ‘hybrid chassis’ design offers a winning combination of low weight together with outstanding strength and an excellent rigidity balance.

Assist and slipper clutch

The YFZ450R SE is the first ATV in its class to feature an assist and slipper clutch that’s designed to partially disengage when you are downshifting quickly for a turn. By virtually eliminating the effects of engine braking, the slipper clutch allows the rider to control corner entry speeds using the brakes for enhanced control and reduced lap times.
