Cardiff citizens strated to find lots of unconvenient of riverside outdoor market. So it is a time to replace the previous riverside market. People increasingly get used of fast food which may cause healty problems. This orgainc market will show the progress of food growing, processing while changing their daily lifestyle habits and breaking old habits and create healthy new ones.

In the transformation of Riverside market, there are three cycles, the ecological cycle of the plant itself, the simulated ecological cycle of building functions, and the cycle of knowledge of organic agriculture, where customers can buy food and experience the process of planting, learn about waste recycling and spread it to more people. A sustainable future that goes beyond the future of citizens and communities. It can be a model for sustainable living, or it can be a place of activity that strengthens neighbourhood relationships.

This project aims to resonate with visitors’ emotion by several architectural objects based on the film-Blade Runner. The psychological transformation of the main character-Decard will be the foundation of the whole design, and these key moments will be transformed to architectural expression.

Continuous paper spaces (on the wall) define a real space (in a room), but their sequential properties unquestionably show a book. Like in those movie books, illustrations are enlarged pictures of movies.

I tried to describe a frame-by-frame image of an architectural interrogation. They do not contain decisive statements; they are tools being produced, or work in progress.

Those pieces of reality (set size, for example, confined to the camera's lens) inevitably introduce an ideal and cultural relationship. However, it is by no means a known implication that these fragments are seen only as part of the building material - neutral, object, indifferent.

03 Contemporary Mongolian Yurt Location: Inner Mongolia, China Type of work:Academic Time: January-March 2021 INDIVIDIAL WORK

After observing the living of Mongolian who living for grazing in the tradition yurts, I found that the structure of yurt is worth to do research and improve. And how to create a new yurt that both can meet their daily requirement and link their life to the current technology is what I want to explore.

Brief Introduction of Inner Mongolia Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region of northern China, encompasses green steppe, arid desert and lengthy sections of the Great Wall of China. The Hulunbuir grasslands, a vast livestock grazing area with hundreds of rivers and popular fishing lakes, is distinguished by its mix of Russian and traditional Mongolian herder cultures. In the remote west is Badain Jaran Desert and its immense dunes 25mm

Inner Mongolia is essentially an inland plateau with a flat surface lying at an elevation of about 3,300 feet (1,000 metres) above sea level and fringed by mountains and valleys. Its southern boundary is formed by a series of high ridges with an average height of between 4,500 and 6,000 feet (1,400 to 1,800 metres).

PAST

Rotational Grazing

Settlement

Taking Mongolia as one of the minority ethnic groups in China, Inner Mongolia, as one of the five ethnic autonomous regions, is arguably the most modern minority. Most nomadic colonies ended their nomadic life and moved to urban areas in the late 20th century. In the densely populated and complex metropolitan areas, the decline of concentrated dwellings belonging to specific ethnic groups has led to a decline in unique cultural activities. How to restore traditional Mongolian settlements while also allowing people to enjoy the same convenient science and technology as urban dwellers is the main issue.

LIFE IN YURT

GRAZING

Yurts are still most often associated with the country of Inner Mongolia. In fact, the word “ger” itself means home or household in Mongolian. Traditional Mongolian meals are hearty, highly calorific and heavily meat and dairy-based. Animals (mutton, beef and goat) are the main source of sustenance for Mongolians, so meat, fat, milk, cheese and cream feature highly in dishes.

Eighty percent of Inner Mongolia is extensive grazing. Its climate is arid to semi -arid and the frostfree period of most of the steppe is one hundred days; transhumant herding on natural pasture is the only sustainable way of using such land.

NAADAM FESTIVAL Naadam is the most widely watched festival among Mongols and is believed to have existed for centuries in one fashion or another. It has its origin in the activities, such as military parades and sporting competitions such as archery, horse riding and wrestling, that followed the celebration of various occasions, including weddings or spiritual gatherings.

Construction

1. Yurts provide a surprisingly large amount of insulation and protection from the outside cold of winters, and they are easily changed to keep the yurts cool for summertime.

2. The ger was a symbol for the entire universe and of the occupant's place within it. The roof was like the sky, and the opening at the top of each ger was the sun and a portal to the world above.

3. The frame consists of one or more expanding lattice wall-sections, a doorframe, bent roof poles and a crown. The Mongolian Ger has one or more columns to support the crown and straight roof poles.

Structure of Traditional Mongolian Yurt A traditional yurt or ger (Mongolian) is a portable, round tent covered with skins or felt and used as a dwelling by several distinct nomadic groups in the steppes of Central Asia. The structure consists of an angled assembly or latticework of wood or bamboo for walls, a door frame, ribs (poles, rafters), and a wheel (crown, compression ring) possibly steam-bent. 1 7 2 3 4

Modern yurts may be permanently built on a wooden platform; they may use modern materials such as steam-bent wooden framing or metal framing, canvas or tarpaulin, plexiglass dome, wire rope, or radiant insulation. The top of the wall of self-supporting yurts is prevented from spreading by means of a tension band

1. This structure is clear and firm. However the timber arch is heavy and difficult to take down and move. The flexibility of this frame is relatively low. 2. This frame is similar with the traditional one. Compared with other frames, this type needs more materials but the result is the same. Lobby

3. I finally choice this model as the basic structure. This frame is easier to take down, move and assemble. Also, it can connect together and divide.

Traditional Harvest efficiency Calculation

New Harvest efficiency Calculation

An animal unit month (AUM) is based on the age, class and size of livestock, and the amount of forage they will consume in one month. An AUM also is a common way of expressing stocking rates, such as “my pasture can support 125 AUM in an average year of growth.”

The standard animal unit is a 1,000-pound cow with a 6-month-old or younger calf by her side. The kind, class and size of livestock will need to be adjusted based on this standard. Use Table 1 to find the correct animal unit equivalent (AUE) for your livestock.
